[The snow falls in great flakes from the sky, covering the walkway that's sprung up out in the lake. The one that connects to what looks like some sort of tomb, with a stylized metal man of some sort on the wall outside the great, heavy doors. It has voices, as well, drifting out into the cold - a young girl and a man, both with English accents.]

You look very nice in that dress, Victoria.

Thank you. Don't you think it's a bit...?

A bit short? Oh I shouldn't worry about that, look at Jamie's.

[From the expression on Jamie's face, the girl's voice strikes some sort of cord deep inside - and his own reply is barely a murmur.]

Victoria...

[Some time passes before he notices the footprints, but once he does, he - like everyone else - starts to follow them, eventually making his way to the fire in the observation deck. As he's rubbing his hands to try and warm them, he looks up to see that question scrawled across the many screens in the area.]

Och, that can't be good.

(OOC: Feel free to run into Jamie at the Cyberman's tomb or on the way to the observation deck or at the deck itself. Just let me know which in your reply!)

[Before taking up Nathan on his offer to send him home, Jamie heads back to his townhouse. There's a few things that were left behind that he needs to fetch, like his claymore. And maybe a few other small things that he's kept as mementos of his trip here. He doesn't know if they'll come with him or not, but he wants to try. However, once he steps through the door, he finds himself wandering through the different rooms, rather than immediately collecting his things. It's funny, he thinks. When he had come here, everything was unknown to him. The technology, the people - the man calling himself the Doctor, who didn't look a thing like the funny little man he had just said goodbye to on the moors of Scotland. None of it made any sense. And when the dreams had started, it had made everything even more strange. All those bits of a life he no longer remembered living...for a bit, he thought he was going mad.

He remembers it now, though. Or, well, most of it. Enough that he can recall his adventures with the Doctor easily. All the beasties they fought, all the times they had to live on their wits, and all the people he had come to meet as well. Ben and Polly, who thought of him a bit like a little brother that was always getting into trouble. Beautiful Victoria, who had broken his heart when she left. And clever Zoe, with her head for figures and an impulsive streak to rival his own. Zoe, who was now back home, like he was supposed to be, and without her memories too. What would happen to his memories, when he left? Would Sophie's socks survive the journey and help them stay put? Or would they slip away from him again, leaving him like he was before?

Standing in front of the viewscreen in his living room, he looks at it, or more accurately, through it. He's not really seeing it. Instead, he's thinking about Nathan's offer. The man needs help, and what does he have to go back to? A life on the run, captured or killed by the English? A life without the Doctor? Without realizing it, the CAT's flickered to life during his trip through the townhouse, and if anyone's actually watching, they might see the indecision on his face as he tries to figure out what to do - and when he finally does speak.]

Maybe it'd not be so bad, if I stayed here instead.

((OOC note: For reference, the thread with the Doctor is occurring last, chronologically.))

[In the park is what must be another piece of someone's home - at least, to Jamie's thinking. He's managed to stumble across what appears to be part of some strange room. A large, hexagonal console sits in the middle of a small clearing, partially hidden by some trees. There's a white wall behind it, covered in roundels, and a coat rack standing off to one side, although it appears to be rather coat free at the moment.

The console itself has a lot of wee knobs and switches and some sort of panels on it - at least, from what he can see - and a cylindrical column in the center of the thing looks almost as if it could move up and down if it wanted. He stares at it for a moment before flipping on the CAT.]

Hey, I think I found one of those bits from someone's world. Does anyone know whose it is?

[Something about that console draws him closer, however, and he winds up walking over and reaching out a curious finger to poke at one of those switches. He mutters to himself, not realizing the CAT is picking that up too.]

And why does it look so familiar?

[The festival is a new experience for Jamie, and it would have likely brought him out even if he hadn't received the note. That just makes him more determined to go. He's even managed to get the idea that he should maybe dress up a wee bit, and is wearing a nice coat, ruffled shirt and a decorative baldric along with his usual great kilt. The mask he's gotten doesn't quite match, but he's resigned to having to have it on, at least for now - and the music notes on it aren't so bad.

It's a grand get together, to be sure, but his gaze keeps going over to the archways. And despite spending a good deal of time where there's food, he finds himself wandering closer and closer to that part of the square. Maybe a peek behind one of those curtains is in order...]

(( OOC: Jamie and Natsuo are going to explore curtain #1 thanks to the wonderful combination that is curiosity and boredom, but things are also open if people want to come chat or see about tagging along. Feel free to tease him about his kilt and get faces made at you in return. XD ))

[The time is late, past curfew, and Jamie is creeping throughout the streets, occasionally ducking behind objects or darting around corners to avoid the patrols. It's a distraction, something to get his mind off the dream he had that night - one that seems more real the more he thinks about it. The bed he was lying on, body wracked with fever, a silver, almost robotic seeming arm reaching towards him... With an effort, he shakes off that thought, his mind turning to other things. Specifically, the message from earlier.]

PL? Plan B? What could those be? Maybe if I keep looking, I'll find some sort of clue.

[Provided, of course, he can continue to manage to avoid being caught. The Scot continues on his search, keeping a wary eye out for the deputies.]

[Inside one of the townhouses is a rather confused Highlander, looking rather as if he's stepped out of the 18th century, if his outfit is anything to go by.] Hey?

[This place is strange, unlike anything he's seen before, and he rubs his eyes in an effort to try and get it to go away. It remains stubbornly where it is...and then the screen lights up. Jamie stumbles back from it, looking rather frightened. However, as all it does is show a man talking, he calms down quickly, going so far as touch the surface of the vidscreen briefly - just as the message ends. Touching it a second time doesn't seem to do anything, so he looks around, ready to pull his claymore if need be. When it's clear he's by himself, he relaxes a little and turns to trying to figure out what's going on instead.]

Think, Jamie. How could ye have gotten here? [He frowns, trying to recall what he was doing.] I was chasing that Redcoat down, I know that. And I'd almost caught him, too, but then I was here. But how? There was nothing for miles, except that wee patch of...mushrooms.

[With dawning realization, he looks around at the room and its furnishings, some familiar in form even though they don't look exactly like what he's used to, and some that are quite, quite strange. There's only one real explanation he can think of for how he's here - that he must have stumbled into a fairy ring and this is their home. There's not much he can do now, except perhaps figure out his surroundings. A bit of an exploration finds the welcome basket, and spotting the CAT inside, he reaches out to pick it up. He startles for a moment as it turns on of its own accord, but then he takes a closer look. He can read the directions, but doesn't trust the device, and puts it back.] I don't know what the fairies would want with that wee thing, but I'll not be so easily tricked.

[Back to the rest. If he's going to explore further, some supplies would be in order. The bottles of wine would be too hard to take with him, so he settles for taking a couple of pieces of fruit, the packet of crackers and, after consideration, the map.] That'll do. Now to see if I can't find out where this Looming Misty place actually is.

[He'd not care to spend the rest of his life with the fairies if he can avoid it, and figuring out where this town of theirs is located is a start at getting back. Heading towards the exit, he's unaware the CAT has decided to come along with him, as it's shrunken down to its pin-like state. He steps outside, blinking a bit at the change of light, and raises his hand to shield his eyes. It's strange and different enough that the kilted young man finds himself wandering through the streets and staring at just about everything. The sound of bagpipes follows along with the Scot, but doesn't seem to be bothering him. After all, everything's strange enough right now as it is. A little extra music isn't making much of a difference one way or another.]
