Day 14 | ~ Dearly Beloved ~

[When the video feed turns on, it shows Xion standing in a room that is nondescript and white. There are no decorations, nothing displaying personality, and there isn't a single person who would think that it's a girl's bedroom. It'd be easy to assume that she's somewhere in the space station, not in her town home, if Luministi itself wasn't directly visible.

The CAT must be sitting on a table, because Xion can be seen in front of a window with her back to the camera. After a moment, she speaks, still not showing her face.]

It's weird... Isn't it? Pieces of our worlds are starting to show up in town... And here I thought once we destroyed those two objects, we'd be going home. [But... Where would she go? She tries not to think about it.

Xion shakes her head, then turns to look at her CAT.] Lately, I've been wondering... What's waiting for everyone back home? What are you wanting to go back to? More importantly... Who are you wanting to go back to? [Because everyone's got somebody, Xion thinks. How can they not?] I realized, not too long ago, that even though I have so many friends here that are so important to me... I don't know much about them. Not really. So... I want to know.

[Well. In the meantime...] I want to search for Lab #3. The sooner we find it, the better. I think that, since there are doors from the space station to our houses, maybe somewhere in town there's a door that secretly leads to that place. Maybe in the mansion, since we haven't really had a chance to explore it yet. Does anyone wanna look with me?

That is an excellent thought about the doors, Xion! I'd like to search with you.

And as for the rest... I can certainly tell you more about my home and who I want to return to. Shall we meet somewhere?

Sure. [They're going to meet up to go searching anyway, so they might as well.] Maybe we can get something to eat before we go looking. Where would you like?

Xion... [Sophie looks at the room behind her friend uncertainly, not sure what to say or even think. when she does speak, her voice is soft--awed, perhaps, or maybe a bit disturbed] Is that place from your world?

[but her tone is more businesslike on the subject of finding a way out] Yes, that's a very good idea. I'd be happy to search with you--or we could split into groups, really.

Yeah. It's my bedroom in the Castle That Never Was. Right through this window... [She gestures.] You could see the rest of the castle, and the big sky that was always black, and eventually, a big, heart-shaped moon that... [Xion trails off, then shakes her head.]

I think that's a good idea. Me and Fuu are gonna go looking, so if you want, you can join us, or you can split up with someone else.

[shocked] It's your bedroom!? My goodness!

[thoughtfully] I think I'll see who else is willing to search. We'll be able to cover more ground if we stay in small groups.

Back home... There isn't enough land for everyone to live. The two Holy Maidens are trying to find a way to create new land, but it isn't easy. There are people who want to stop them. That's why I need to go back - I need to protect them. [He nods once, firmly. There's even a tiny, soft smile on his face, but he doesn't even realize that.]

Doors somewhere else in town... Alright. I can help look.

Holy Maidens? Why do people want to stop them? That sounds like it'd be such a good thing... [Protect them... Hmm?] So... The Maidens are your friends?

Sophie suggested splitting up into teams. I think it's a good idea, because we got a lot of ground covered last time.

It would be a good thing. [He shakes his head.] The Goddess doesn't want it to happen. Because of that, many of the people aren't sure if they want it to happen either. [Friends... that makes him smile again.] And yes. They're my friends.

That is a good idea. The more ground we can cover, the better.

[mostly to himself] But I've not seen anything from Scotland...

[He shakes his head then, and turns his attention back to Xion.] Aye, well, the people I'd want to go back to are well away by now, but I can help ye look, if ye like.

Aye, well, if the Laird and Kirsty have gotten to France, they'll be safe enough. There'll be friends there to help them.

[well that's not offputting at all… But being somewhere like that might explain the need for individuality.]

I suppose we have rather got caught up in everything else! Me… well, once we're done, I'll be going back to Navarre to talk to Jessica, see if she's all right, and then work out what's become of the Guild.

That sounds like a plan!

Navarre is where you live? What's "the Guild"? Who's Jessica, and what's she like? [She wants to know!]

Sophie said that maybe we should split up into teams, and I think we should, too. That way we can search more places.

Haha, slow down a little! [holding up one hand] Yes, Navarre's where I live. You don't know what a Guild is? It's… well, essentially a group of people of the same profession. Jessica's… [He falters, but not for long.] She's my best friend's sister, she's like family. She's kind, and more cautious than I am.

I agree! So then, who are you going with? Who else is going to be looking?

[turns on his CAT, an eager smile on his face] Ohhhhh, I can do you one better! I can show you what I'm going back to! And you want to look for the lab and this is on the way! Come on!

[he almost switches the CAT off]--oh! One more thing. [he opens his mouth, then closes it] Well, I can tell you when you get here. I'll be waiting on the observation deck!

[Doctor! Xion's entire face lights up.]

There you are! Where have you been? Did you do what you said you were going to? What'd you do? --

Sh... Show me?

[Xion is opening a corridor of darkness immediately, though. She can't wait to see him.]

It doesn't matter who or what is waiting for me at "home," because I'm not going back. I don't care who I have to hurt or hide from, I won't allow it!

It's simple, really: I enjoy being alive, and I enjoy being able to eat, drink, and sleep at my leisure. It's pleasant to be treated like a person rather than a pet or a piece of furniture.

-Speaking of furniture, that's an interestingly designed room. Very modern.
