[Xion turns the video feed on. It's midday and her hood is back up, but she's sitting outside on a bench across the street from the phone booth.]

Thank you... whoever found the antidote. That was... close. At least, it felt like it.

[She lets out a slow exhale.]

Anyway... I think I found the source of the ringing. [She turns her CAT so it catches sight of the phone booth.] There's a phone in there that's going off all the time. But when I picked it up, all I heard was beeping. When I hung up, it started ringing again.

[She turns the CAT around again.] Did... Anyone else get that message? [She fiddles with her CAT to find the text, and then she reads it aloud.] "No time to talk. Find the booth, don't get caught. Come between midnight and one. More to come later."

... pretty straight-forward. But with that curfew... [Xion frowns.]

But I think it's important. This is like the music inside the greenhouse. It's not going to just go away. [She pauses, then mutters bitterly:] Not yet, anyway.

[She shakes her head.] The regular people can't hear the phone or see the booth. Whatever is going on... It's up to us to figure it out.

Larxene... [Xion ducks her head briefly, fidgeting with the ends of her sleeves. She takes in the rest of what he has to say, but whereas she might've smiled at the concept of the Keyblade being finicky, she... Under the circumstances, she can't. She just can't.]

It's because -- We never... I should never have... [My Keyblade is not a sham!

When Xion speaks again, her voice is small, weak. Lost.]

... it's all such a mess...

[leans forward, his voice gentle and hopefully encouraging] Xion, how is it a mess?

Roxas shouldn't be here. [Those are the first words out of her mouth. The ones she doesn't want to say.] He shouldn't be here because he -- he...

Because in your time, he's gone, right? There's someone here from my past who shouldn't be alive either.

[She's speaking almost in a rush now.] He's gone because I --

[he gets it now, or so he believes] I'm sure whatever happened was an accident. You don't seem the type who'd kill someone, let alone your best mate.

[though he can't say anything about it himself. he effectively killed the person a dear friend had become when he wiped her of her memories...]

[And Xion all but cringes back. There are the words. Kill. She... Roxas...] It wasn't... [She draws her knees up to her chest.] It wasn't supposed to... happen like that. I...

[reaches a hand out, touching Xion's shoulder] Xion, it's all right. That sort of thing is in the past. The choices we make, or as often is the case, are forced to make...they don't always turn out favourable for all parties. I've had to make so many. You can trust me to understand how you feel.

But it's not all right! It never should've happened! I was the one who was supposed to -- It should've been me, I planned it to be me, I couldn't -- I just couldn't stop, and he -- If he had lived... They would've... He wouldn't have been him. He would've forgotten me, and then he would've forgotten Axel -- They would've changed him and taken away what made him him, but Roxas -- I didn't...

Poor Xion ;_;

[Xion shakes her head.] He didn't -- He couldn't... He wouldn't have understood. He had to go back to Sora, too, but he wouldn't have understood, not yet.

But supposing he did. As your friend, perhaps...what was done was to protect you. And that way, Roxas still would have remembered you to the very end. It's always a possibility.

Regardless of that fact, protecting one another is part of what friends do. They look out for each other, and if they have to, they'll make the ultimate sacrifice to save their friends.

[quietly] I see. Well...that choice is one you'll have to try to accept. You've got to live for the pair of you now and that's a difficult journey to undertake alone.

It's never easy losing a best friend.

Ask yourself this: would Roxas want to see you like this, still in mourning over his loss? Or would he want to see you moving on and enjoying life?

[Xion hugs her knees close to her chest.]

He's the only one who can stop Xemnas.

[sighs slightly] So where does that leave you, if you're not the one meant to stop this Xemnas?

... I have half of Sora's power. He needs it back, or else... he'll never wake up.
