[Xion turns the video feed on. It's midday and her hood is back up, but she's sitting outside on a bench across the street from the phone booth.]

Thank you... whoever found the antidote. That was... close. At least, it felt like it.

[She lets out a slow exhale.]

Anyway... I think I found the source of the ringing. [She turns her CAT so it catches sight of the phone booth.] There's a phone in there that's going off all the time. But when I picked it up, all I heard was beeping. When I hung up, it started ringing again.

[She turns the CAT around again.] Did... Anyone else get that message? [She fiddles with her CAT to find the text, and then she reads it aloud.] "No time to talk. Find the booth, don't get caught. Come between midnight and one. More to come later."

... pretty straight-forward. But with that curfew... [Xion frowns.]

But I think it's important. This is like the music inside the greenhouse. It's not going to just go away. [She pauses, then mutters bitterly:] Not yet, anyway.

[She shakes her head.] The regular people can't hear the phone or see the booth. Whatever is going on... It's up to us to figure it out.

Regardless of that fact, protecting one another is part of what friends do. They look out for each other, and if they have to, they'll make the ultimate sacrifice to save their friends.

[Xion hugs her knees close to her chest.]

He's the only one who can stop Xemnas.

[sighs slightly] So where does that leave you, if you're not the one meant to stop this Xemnas?

... I have half of Sora's power. He needs it back, or else... he'll never wake up.

How can you have half of someone's power? He didn't split his power and soul off into anything like a book, ring, or coronet, did he?

Roxas and Sora... They're connected. And I... ...

Like an artificial or cloned human? Android or--no, it can't be that one. That'd have to be one hell of a personality circuit inside of you otherwise.

Of course, it could be a number of things. Could be a parthenogenesis-like process, or--ah, feel free to stop me if I've hit upon the correct answer. I could go on for hours.

[Xion looks up, surprised. She... Of all the reactions, she was not expecting this one. In her surprise (and attempt to figure out why he reacted like that and what, exactly, it means), Xion continues to explain on instinct, voice neutral. She's giving a definition; the emotional value isn't sinking in quite yet because of the surprise] I'm... a replica. A blank puppet... made by the Organization. They wanted the Keyblade so they can make Kingdom Hearts, so they... made me to copy Roxas's powers.

[the more he hears about the Organization, the less he cares for it] And--ohhh, I see. That's how Roxas and Sora are connected, and you to them.

But I find it a bit hard to believe that you were just a blank. [though that does explain the riddle]

[Yeah, that's a normal reaction.] ... kind of. There's... more to it than that. [She exhales slowly.]

[arches an eyebrow] Is that right...? Seems you've got one now, or at least half a one, anyway. Difficult to tell with your hood up all the time. Of course, that could be the reason for the hood.

... there's a girl... named Kairi. She's really important to Sora. So the Organization... used another girl, Kairi's Nobody, Naminé, who has powers over Sora's memory and the memories of those close to him... They used her to unchain the memories in Sora's heart so they could use him. And when I began taking Roxas's power, I was actually taking Sora's. And Sora's memories, too. So I... started... looking and acting like Kairi. Sort of. I...

... I'm a girl. My name is Xion and I have short black hair and blue eyes like Sora and my best friends are Roxas and Axel. [It all has a kind of cadence to it.] But I...

... that's not... what I look like now. And Roxas is gone and I can never see Axel again.

[after all that, he can only softly say:] I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, Xion. Sorry for all of you.

[Somewhere, deep down, there's a voice in her that wants to scream it's not fair! I just want to watch the sunset with them forever on the clock tower and eat ice cream and laugh about nothing.

... but... another voice whispers, but that's what Riku wants, too, isn't it? And Sora, and Kairi. To watch the sunset together while sitting on the paopu tree and live the life they should've had.

But that's what we want, too, the other part of her, the heartbroken one, says.

But...]

It's the way... it had to be. [Her voice is soft, her eyes on her hands, which are clasped in her lap.] Xemnas... wasn't going to let me and Roxas both live. I took too much power; Roxas... was getting weak. Xemnas... wants Kingdom Hearts, but not to get his heart back, like he told us. He wants to use it. So he used us to get it. He has... to be stopped. And Sora's the rightful Keybearer. Roxas is his Nobody. My Keyblade is... just a sham. I'm not... I'm not strong enough to stop Xemnas. And Sora's friends are waiting for him. I don't... want them to be sad, just because I...

...

It doesn't matter what happens to me now. Sora... has to wake up. That's just... how it is.

Of course it matters. You have a life and as unfair as it is, right now, you're on borrowed time. Prolonging the inevitable. Of course you'll return to Sora one day, but don't you think that while you're here and not able to reach him, that you should live as much as you can? Live life to the fullest! It will make you even stronger, and therefore, he will be all the stronger for it.

I don't know what will happen to you, but a heart never forgets the people that have touched it. Your Roxas isn't truly gone, not really, because you remember him. And I'll remember you.

[Xion is beyond words. All she can do is... stare at him for a moment.] I...

... [She brings her hand up to rub it against an eye, but the tears don't stop there.]
