Day 12 | ~ Renewal ~

[She's back.

She's back.

She's alive and breathing and --

And she still looks like Sora. She doesn't know why, but she doesn't really care right now. She went back to him, she knows she did. It's the last thing she remembers, fading into light as everything she is and Roxas was flowed back to him.

And now she's back.

This is Luministi. This is that town. Why is she back? How is she back? She's not sure she cares. She's too excited. She's alive, she's back in that place where she met all of her new friends, she can finally start to live, really live, just like the Doctor showed her -- She is just so excited to be back.

Until she learns that Verita doesn't remember her. That... stings. Xion knew that everyone would forget her when she went back to Sora, but she had thought -- No... She didn't think. Things aren't the way they were.

Everyone's... forgotten her.

Xion is now just kind of wandering around the plaza, hood down, staring at the ground. She's not so excited any more. She's happy she's still alive, still exists, yes, that's true. But...

She's too wrapped up in her thoughts and feelings to notice the music following her around.]

[gives the chocolate orange, seeming non-plussed by the change in music] Funny you should ask that. I've been trying to find the source of the music all day but haven't had any luck. And it isn't just one song--well, it can be and repeats in a loop over and over and over until it suddenly switches to something else. Hasn't helped to keep the earworms out, though... [scratches his chin]

[casually] Oh, don't worry. I don't mean an actual worm. Well, not in this case, anyway. The term is metaphorical, meaning how a piece of music can worm its way into your brain and take a very long time to worm its way out.

I... ["How have you been?" How does she answer a question like that?] I went back to Sora.

But... When I woke up in Traverse Town again after they sent me home, I didn't... [Her brow furrows and her head ducks.]

If there isn't much of a point, why do you have it up again?

[frowns, concerned] You didn't what?

[She kind of mumbles this out.] I... I thought that nobody would remember me, so -- I thought it... didn't matter, whether I had it up or not.

[And then she stops talking altogether for a moment.]

I... I... I forgot. I forgot everything. [I forgot everyone.]

When you went home, I take it? Well, to be honest--[he starts to rub the back of his neck]--I wasn't aware of anything that had happened here until I returned. Then it all came flooding back.

And I reckon the same happened to you as well. [puts a hand on Xion's shoulder] You don't have to be afraid or ashamed of it.

[Xion nods to confirm that yes, she forgot about Luministi when she went home.]

But... I'm supposed to remember. [That's why it's okay if other people forget. I'll remember for us.] It's important for me to remember when everyone else forgets, and I... didn't. I promised.

And it's not like it just slipped my mind. When I left here, I was ready. I was ready to go back to Sora. But when I woke back up in Traverse Town, I...

[softly] You can't blame yourself for something that you couldn't prevent. It isn't like you intentionally forgot. We understand. You can't change what happened no more than I can.

Well... [starts rubbing the back of his neck] Yeah, it does me as well, but! There are other things to do--like finding our way to the Mayor's house again. If we can find Caligin again, we can find out why we were brought back.

I--well, that all depends! Knowing Sophie, I doubt she'll be keen on me proposing again. She wasn't exactly happy with it the first time...
