◌ 013 ◌ Games and worry
[When the CAT turns on, Fuu doesn't even notice because she's playing a crane game with an intense look of concentration upon her face. Nearly buried amid the adorable stuffed figures that fill the machine is a brown schoolbag, which Fuu is clearly aiming for.]
[The claw snags one of the handles of the bag, the crane moves up, and Fuu gives a small cry of happiness as her bag is deposited in the chute.]
At last. Thought I'd never get it. --Oh, and another one of these?
[Taking up her bag and the two coins she looks left and right. She then moves over to another game, this one with a pincushion nestled among the toys. Fuu tilts her head thoughtfully.]
It was Miss Sophie who lost the pincushion, right...
[Figuring that she wouldn't know how to play the game to get her item back, Fuu tries to start the game with her CAT so that she can retrieve the pincushion for her. But it won't work.]
What--?
[Moving down the line she tries a couple other machines. None work.]
Oh, I see. That's just mean.
Well, everyone, it seems that my CAT is on, so you just saw it. Apparently we must each come enjoy this arcade that the Mayor told us about.

[Later, a message private to Verita, in text]
Miss Verita, something happened, didn't it? Please message back when you can, and... hang in there.

(Private video)
Yes, it is rather disturbing. Has your home been particularly...troublesome for you?
(Private video)
[And worse. The evening she'd come home to the question "Who were the Pillar Esmeraude's killers?" she had cried all night. To be asked that by an anonymous machine in this strange place where no one should know that...]
(Private video)
That's exactly it. You're asked questions you either won't want to answer or can't. It's meant to make you lose!
[but she makes it to the arcade then!] Oh! My, there are a lot of machines. Are the ones holding our items nearby?
(always a pleasure to turn off the CAT!)
Not to far at all! Just this way.
[As she leads the way her smile fades a bit.]
The questions haven't been going for long so I was wondering what the purpose was... But something so sinister as making us lose? Making us-- making us dolls?

Even more so for you, who isn't used to these kinds of things! [She gestures to the crane games.]

But Fuu eyes Miss Sophie a bit warily herself. She's something else when she's angry!]
I'm sure you won't have any trouble with it. Once you use your CAT to pay to start the game, you use those keys on the board to move the crane. When you're over the pincushion, push the center button and the crane will lower and close, hopefully catching it! [She mimics the action of the catcher with her hands.]
For certain, you can do it!

[Other than that, all she can do is wait patiently.]

I got two of them too. Looks like the coin I got from Miss Verita's riddle game.

Yes, I do hope we can discover that soon...
But thank you, Fuu, for your help with this...game.

[bows] You are very welcome, Miss Sophie.
Please take care on your way out. I would be happy to help with any of those quizzes that I can. It's the least I can do if it's about the world I know.

Oh, and I did mean to tell you... [looks a bit awkward at this] I am working on the dress you asked for. I should be ready to give it to you soon.

Oh, Miss Sophie! Thank you so very much! I look forward to it. [And she'll have to make sure to prepare to give some sort of gift in return.]
