◌ 009 ◌ I'm pretty sure I didn't sign up for this...

[A CAT text, filtered to all 'new residents'. This way, she can be a bit more concise.]

Everyone, I have some very interesting information to share with you.

Upon the Sheriff's recommendation, I messaged the Mayor directly to ask about this 'new resident program' of his. I'm pleased to say that after some time, he did reply personally.

Now, both him and the Sheriff were surprised that I'm even asking about this, because they are under the impression that we signed up to be here. Well, have a look at the video that he sent me - I've managed to attach it to this message.

Anyways, I'm pretty sure that I didn't sign up to be here. But I believe that we did all have that mysterious flash and the tall man in a black suit, with a black hat, I think? And perhaps carrying something. So, I tried to ask the Mayor if his recruiter looks like that. I also asked if I could review my application to the program.

However, my request was met with more lovely resident side-stepping. Miss Osculia replied that the applications are confidential and not available to view after they've been submitted. Now, do any of you know about privacy laws? Because I'm quite certain that there should be nothing restricting the one who filled out the form from reviewing it. If you can think of an argument so that we can see our forms, it might be worth a try.

Either way, I hope this helps. Miss Osculia's supposed to let me know when the Mayor is available to 'address my concerns'...

[Attachment: Luministi Revival Program] [ooc: for the record, you can only see video from the mayor in Fuu's attachment, not the rest of it, but it was a pain to have it in two links XD]

I know I didn't sign up for this place... if anything, I'd guess that they kidnapped us and then claimed we voluntarily came here of our free will.

Oh, I can think up arguments if she's going to be that stubborn. The mayor's the head of our government, right? In the US, if the government refuses to grant access to a person's own documents, it's fair grounds for a court case. There's Privacy Acts that enforce this law... and if necessary, I can quote it to her face.

... Thanks for giving us this information, Fuu. It's incredibly slightly disturbing, but I don't think this is an instance where we need to be ignorant.

Seriously? I... wow. Sounds like my "intergalactic baseball" theory wasn't far off. [she looks completely stunned here; someone forgot to inform her that this wasn't Earth.]

... Can you tell me what else you know about this place?

[identity profile] alwaysanarcher.livejournal.com 2010-08-08 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
... That's quite a bit. Honestly, I'm not surprised to hear that the "seven hundred years of history mysteriously vanished." It's like they don't want us to know anything.

[ooc; Works for me! ♥ I think Cissily would've tried to find some of this stuff out herself anyway.]

Can you find me a copy of the town laws?

Oh, I assure you, it takes a very complex set of laws to deter me. Would you drop what you can find off at the door? I've come down with something of a cold and I wouldn't want to risk getting you ill.

If you talk to anyone who did sign up, please do let us know.

I find it hard to believe that any town would create a program where they would pay all the expenses for someone to move there. There must be more to this "program."

But why would they need "new blood"? Why force us to come here without warning and then pretend we made a choice? Why pick people from different worlds to begin with? What could it all be for!?

I'm quite used to dealing with people who are wicked, but they at least have a reason for the wicked things they do!

And we can hardly help when we don't know what they need! Even if they are dying, why would they need us?

[then again, she could think of a reason why a dying town might want her. and Mr Braxiatel and the Doctors, considering their technical knowledge. and...maybe it wasn't the best question, really]

More importantly, how can we do anything for them without knowing what they need?

So this person wishes to make us believe we agreed to come here? [makes a face]

I don't care any for this 'bigger picture.' We are not objects to be used at someone else's whim.

[raises an eyebrow at the 'again' comment]

My world has magic, yes, although I am not sure why that would interest someone here.

[after he's watched the video about the program, he texts:]

Seems like you said the magic words there, Fuu. Not surprised Osculia avoided your questions, but in some parts of the universe--well, only one planet, really--some privacy laws are so tight, you can't even look at yourself in a mirror without filling out a stack of papers. Supposed to deter the development of narcissism, that one, but it really just means there is an entire planet filled with people who can't do their hair up properly and can't shave to save their lives--and never mind about applying make-up of any kind.

Not that I had that problem myself. Not me. Kept nicking myself shaving though.

Yeah...I am rather surprised by that as well. After two months and finally he actually responds to something? Frankly, I'm surprised Osculia wasn't the one to send you the video.

What did he say, exactly?
bit_impossible: (Doctor-Yeah about that...)

Ahh, interesting. Well! At least he's consistent--or he really is just that busy. Makes you wonder what with, though...

But something tells me you won't be hearing from her. You've had problems getting appointments and such in the past, right?
