❧ ...Until someone loses an eye
[randomly in the southern lawn of the town square, a silver view finder appears. pretty innocent looking, isn't it? and in actuality, it really is! only...what it shows might not be so innocent... nonetheless, observers will notice that the remaining residents who haven't been turned into dolls yet walk past it without noticing it at all. how odd.
a few minutes after its appearance, an unregistered CAT device sends an audio message to only the new residents, but those with keen ears will notice that the voice distortion is pitched a bit higher than normal. strange. the message goes as follows:]
Things are falling apart faster than I expected, so I can finally utilize this device while everyone is distracted. Use those prizes I gave you to get a glimpse of the truth! Thought you'd also like to know that he is safe and at home with his family far, far away from here. But please keep each other safe and beware R--
[the message, unfortunately, cuts off there...]
[ooc: Remember those gold coins embossed with the image of a lion and a sun? It seems someone has had something planned for them this entire time. Good thing you can recover it with your stolen item! Of course, there are some residents who can get one coin and others with two. Those with two will be able to use the view finder twice. Oddly enough, the view finder only will let you look at things in the four cardinal directions, and once you pick the direction, you can't move the view finder. So! Comment here ICly with the direction you wish to look at. Those of you with two coins can comment twice so we can let you know what you will see with your second choice. If you wish to comment/ask a question OOCly, you can as well!
Oh, and as a note, after you have used your coin(s) and return home, you will find that the lion paperweight has moved to a different location in your townhome. How or why that happened, well...you'll see soon enough...]

I'd offer to have you come in for tea, but with the doors the way they are, it is probably better to stay outside. Besides... I'm afraid there are many things in that story that I would rather not the Luministi observers know. We're less likely to be overheard outdoors. [Well, maybe. With what the Doctor had said about hidden cameras...]
no subject
I'd hope that we could notice observers.
no subject
Well, it seems possible that cameras can be hidden with the same technology that makes the sunglasses work.
no subject
Ah, I see. [it makes sense that they could expand what they did with the technology, though… has she explained cameras?]
no subject
[He'd seemed okay with the CAT and the video, but she can give a slightly more detailed run-down on what the Doctor theorized to her about hidden cameras and what the cameras do.]
no subject
[…well, they do have to get the image to project the holograms of people somehow. It's probably enough tech-talk in one day.]
no subject
Pardon me for just a moment while I get the refreshments.
[She steps off the main path and goes to her door, which promptly asks her a question. Hawk can hear it if he comes a bit closer (or has really good hearing): What small treasure was given to Ferio from Esmeraude when he was young?]
[Fuu gives a sad sigh and unconsciously fingers the ring on her finger before softly answering,]
Two gold rings.
[The door opens and Fuu disappears inside, to reemerge moments later with a tray laden with a pitcher of water, two glasses, and a plate of chocolate cookies from the bakery.]
no subject
Would you like some help with that? [either way, he's snagging a cookie. and once they're seated, he indicates the ring.] Was that from a friend?
no subject
!
[Fuu blushes and busies herself with pouring the glasses of water, which she nearly sloshes over.]
What- this? Um, it is! A very- dear friend. [Her expression gradually turns over from surprise to a kind, reflective smile. She very calmly hands him a glass of water.]
But if I told you more, I'd be giving away parts of the story.
no subject
Ah, right. Telling it out of order would get confusing, couldn't it?
no subject
It would! [Fuu glances around one last time. There's no helping it if there are hidden cameras around now. She'll just have to whisper the most difficult parts.]
So I'll start with Tokyo Tower. It's a landmark of our city, and we went there on a school trip one day...
[And have the story of the Magic Knights (http://wind-of-reason.livejournal.com/816.html#cutid2) (as told by Fuu, instead of Clamp. ^.^) She tries to keep it fairly concise, skims quickly over the difficult battles, and naturally struggles when she comes to the part about Esmeraude.]
no subject
She summoned you to…? That's… [he shakes his head]
The strength of heart, huh… Seems like it works out better when you have people supporting you.
[blinks] Eagle?
[and a smile at the last part about Ferio]
no subject
[Also shakes her head sadly, and speaks softly. Emeraude's murder is one of the things she wants to keep from Luministi the most.] It was terrible. You can see why she did it, and what happened in the end, but... it wounded us deeply.
[Smile!] Yes, absolutely it does! Although I don't have my precious friends, I still have important people supporting me here.
[Grin. Ah, bird names...] I don't suppose you know an Eagle as well?
[She smiles shyly in return. She had felt a bit awkward speaking about him, but it had been nice, like it had brought Ferio closer to her.]
no subject
Do I count? [more teasing now]
[the question is why Jessica didn't get one as well :|a] Mm. He's… he was my best friend.
[pleasant memories are good things~]
no subject
Of course. And... I haven't really had the chance to tell anyone else about my story so fully. So, thank you.
I see. Eagle is a fine, noble name. [The fact that he'd used past-tense there worried her, but she would not pry.]
no subject
He was that. …well, we got into trouble sometimes, but we were kids.
no subject
[Grin~] And what's childhood without a little trouble.

Oh, come now, aren't we were going to take turns at storytelling?
[ooc: Plus the mun has no idea for a good story XD (Fuu, get in trouble? Never!)
Also, given the end-game, would you like to keep going with this thread, or just leave it and assume that they keep chatting about their lives? (I'm good either way, because I'll have a lot of free time this week.)]
no subject
[a little more shuffling to get comfortable] Well. I grew up in the Navarre Thieves Guild, with Eagle and Jessica- she's his sister- as best friends. [and from there, he launches into the first quarter of the game (more or less), as he sees it and skipping over most of the details about obtaining the spirits.]
[Jam accident? I don't know if makeup would be a big thing in Tokyo.
I'd like to go through a little of the response to the story, if that works?]
no subject
[She sits captivated by the rest of the story. Occasionally she has to really remind herself that this story is not from some role-playing game from her world, but Mister Hawk's history.]
[Her face grows sad at Eagle's death, anxious at all the twists that Bieieu put them through, and surprised when he comes to when he was caught up to Luministi.]
Oh- mere steps away from catching her! What a terrible time to be taken away.
You have had some terrible hardships in your life too, Mister Hawk. I truly hope that you'll be able to make it back to your world in time to still save Jessica and avenge your friends.
[Yep, that'll be fine! These two are so fun together XD]
no subject
That's what I thought. Whoever did this has a poor sense of timing.
Thanks. I hope the others will be able to do something even if I can't, though.
no subject
no subject
I won't. Thanks, Fuu.
no subject
I'm sorry, but 'fell in'! Yes, strong allies can literally 'fall in' together! [She is, of course, thinking of Hikaru, Umi and herself falling through the floor of Tokyo Tower when they were summoned.]
And thank you, Mister Hawk. [She reaches out her hand, offering a handshake. Just as she did to Mister Braxiatel.] I hope that we can continue working together, and keep each other safe.
