θ-10 Come one, come all!

[As soon as the sun as set, Doctor John Smith is up in a grassy area somewhere off near the malt shop, with a peculiar setup before him. But...those who know a thing or two about pyrotechnics will know exactly what he's about to do.]

[He turns his CAT on, a big, broad and excited grin on his face]

Hellooooooooooooo Luministi!!! It's that time of year again, and as always, the Mayor has asked me to kick off the celebration with a little display. [there's a mischievous twinkle in her eye] Not even Soph knows what I've got planned this year, so! I think it's about time I show you!

[He shuts the CAT off, and there is nothing for a few moments...

...but then, there's a high-pitched whine followed by an explosion of colour! One after another, fireworks shoot up into the air, and the good doc has not skimped on them. There are ones that change colors, shoot up into different formations, some that even transform from one shape to another.

The display will go on for a good hour, but while those are going on, the festivities have officially started! Parties in the town square with food, game, and drinking booths will go on. The rides are up in full force. There's even dancing going on in the southern shopping plaza area as well as the botanical gardens. Everything the mayor mentioned and more is there for everyone to partake in.]

[Croix had originally come to the festivities with the girl who mans the ticket counter on weekends at the theatre, but she's flitted off to go do this, that or the other and asked Croix to wait for her in the meanwhile. And to watch her stuff. So, Croix's sitting on a bench near the booths. ... With a purple purse. And a teddy bear. And a bag of popcorn. And a stick of cotton candy. And a balloon.

Anyway point is, he's by himself for now, but he looks content enough. Besides, he has some awesome fireworks to watch while he waits! And he's certainly not against company.]

[She can't come up and talk to him, but Kanaya stares at Croix from her place at Mu's booth with no expression. Is she judging? Making assumptions about his masculinity??

Really, she's just admiring his purse and perfectly fluffy cotton candy.]

[He can feel that staring, though it does take him a while to look over. And when he does, he blinks... but he does smile a bit and wave to her.]

She points at her crotch lap (or wherever Croix has the purse) and flashes him a solemn thumbs up.]

He sighs, shakes his head and looks back up at her with an embarrassed smile.]

It's not mine! [... Hopefully they're close enough to properly speak. Or she can read lips. Or something.]

Tiffany's! [The girl who works the ticket counter at the theatre on weekends.] She's... uh... somewhere else right now!

[... You know what? Forget this yelling thing. He gathers up all the stuff and heads toward Kanaya! ... This of course mean he now has a balloon tied to his wrist, a purse on his shoulder, a bear in one hand and a bag of popcorn in the other. Hopefully he won't trip...]

That's better. [Faint smile!] Hi.

Hi. [That is much better. She rearranges displays on the counter to make room, if he wants to put something down.]

I think I know who that is. [Such is the power of reading name tags.] Are you on a date?

Xion pauses, considering approaching and saying hi, but then she takes in the stuff he's holding and her heart sinks. He must be here with someone. Oh... Well... It's probably best if she just kept on walking, then... And he looks like he's doing all right, not like he's lonely or anything. So, really, she should keep moving. Really.

Xion isn't aware of how long she's been standing there, staring at him, face faintly pink. W h o o p s.]

[Well, he doesn't notice the blush - bit too far away for that - but he does notice he's kind of being stared at... Weird. Oh well. Anyway, he waves to Xion.]

No, just holding things. Girl talk... so who knows how long that’ll take, especially since Tiffany can talk forever.

They do have a talent for that! It's almost impressive, considering… well, how do they keep track of it all?
