[You will need to forgive him right off the bat for almost completely running you over while riding his bicycle. After all, he's trying to read his CAT and maneuver the bike and not drop his basket of food or lose his hat. It's understandable there will be some negotiation and one of these things will falter.

Keeping the bike on the path is that thing today.

He does manage to avoid striking the strange grey girl. Barely. He and the basket tumble from the bike and he hardly notices, he's too busy staring.]

Kanaya jumps a bit at the near miss, then cringes a bit when she sees the boy and his bicycle go down in all their fragile glory. R.I.P., human boy, she hardly knew ye.

[All of his stuff is just...everywhere. Including the hat, caught in some shrub branches. Luke is sitting there alternately rubbing his head and shaking it.

When he does look up to answer "yeah", a startled sort of choke comes out instead.]

[Interacting with a human up close is a little surreal, but she's seen Rose via viewport enough to know what to expect. That Luke hasn't had the same fair warning doesn't occur to her quite yet, though, so she just nods at his affirmation. Maybe he's just in shock over the crash?

While he gets his head together, Kanaya fetches his hat from the shrub and brushes a leaf off, giving it a quick appraisal at the same time. Human fashion isn't too bad. Then she holds it out to him.]

So Luke is sputtering the whole time she fetches the hat and holds it out.]

Are they real? [Blatantly staring at her horns. Luke hasn't even managed to put the hat back on his head yet, so his unruly hat-hair is in full view of the world.]

It's fine. I am beginning to find that there are many subjects that, when gently scuffed upon the human sensibilities, elicit a torrential outpour not unlike a water-filled rubber expansion toy being pricked with a fine needle.
