One

[This gray-skinned horned girl will be wandering around with a strange candy corn ball thing in hand until she reaches the town square. She'll be hovering on the edge of the celebration looking one part contemplative and one part unsure. If you look human, chances are she'll be giving you a very interested look as well.

Also, if you look at your CAT, you'll find an oddly typed message in jade green font:]

I Dont Know This All Seems So Callous
The Gifts Were A Nice Gesture
But Allow Me The Delusion That A Basket Of Inoffensive Food Items And Paraphernalia Might Be An Insufficient Catalyst To Heartfelt Gratitude
Even If The Basket Appears Very Well Made
And The Two Wheel Device Was Unexpectedly Generous
Still Id Like To Return Home As Soon As Possible
If Anyone Can Direct Me To The Mayors Office I Would Appreciate It Thanks

Of course! I just assumed you meant the video anyway.

Mine's Jamie. Jamie McCrimmon. It's good to meet ye, Kan...Kan-eye-a? Is that how ye pronounce it? I'm not so good at figuring that out from the writing.

[Or even listening to spoken words sometimes, depending on how complicated they get.]

I called the town Looming Misty for the longest time because I'd only read it and not heard anyone say it.

[When she switches to video, he blinks - but it's more that he hadn't expected her to do that, rather than any real surprise at her appearance. He's seen enough aliens by now that he can accept the fact she doesn't look human easily enough. However, as she talks, his expression grows more and more baffled. And by 'approximate linguistic denotation', he's completely lost.]

O-oh, aye. Aye, that. Well, ah, it's good to meet ye, Kanaya.

[He does try to make the effort to pronounce it like she does, at least. Then he sighs, rubbing at the back of his neck.]

Although, I'm sorry you've gotten dragged into all of this. Maybe if we'd been able to track down the person we were looking for, none of us would be in this mess now.

If it's anything like the others have said it is, it won't be a problem. Apparently when ye go back ye get returned to exactly wherever it was when ye left...and at the same time, too.

At least, that's what I've heard, aye?
bonnypiperlad: (Look...)

Look, that's only what I've been told. I'd not gone back home when I had the chance to. But I've no reason not to believe them.

If ye happen across any of the others who mention being brought back to the town, ask them and they'll tell ye.
