[The snow falls in great flakes from the sky, covering the walkway that's sprung up out in the lake. The one that connects to what looks like some sort of tomb, with a stylized metal man of some sort on the wall outside the great, heavy doors. It has voices, as well, drifting out into the cold - a young girl and a man, both with English accents.]

You look very nice in that dress, Victoria.

Thank you. Don't you think it's a bit...?

A bit short? Oh I shouldn't worry about that, look at Jamie's.

[From the expression on Jamie's face, the girl's voice strikes some sort of cord deep inside - and his own reply is barely a murmur.]

Victoria...

[Some time passes before he notices the footprints, but once he does, he - like everyone else - starts to follow them, eventually making his way to the fire in the observation deck. As he's rubbing his hands to try and warm them, he looks up to see that question scrawled across the many screens in the area.]

Och, that can't be good.

(OOC: Feel free to run into Jamie at the Cyberman's tomb or on the way to the observation deck or at the deck itself. Just let me know which in your reply!)

[the Doctor removes his long coat as he approaches Jamie on the observation deck. seeing as he can't get the TARDIS to open--she is off in a corner, slowly being buried in snow--offering his coat to someone who could use it more than him is the only thing he can do right now. he's seen the question on the screens and ohhh, does it make him angry--unless it's a question their current tormentor wishes to be ask, that is, then he is glad to add that to his long list of queries.]

All right there, Jamie? Here. [offers the coat to him]
bit_impossible: (Doctor-Yeah about that...)

[he shrugs] Well, if you change your mind... [he folds the coat over his arm, then lets out a loud breath that blooms in the air.]

Or, more to the point, who invited us here in the first place? The two, no doubt, are related... [his eyes flicker back to the screens]
bit_impossible: (Doctor-What did you just do?)

[before he can really respond to that, the Doctor's overcome with a sudden need to blurt out a few things:]

You know, I've never minded the taste of pears.

I'll never travel with anyone again just to keep my friends safe even if it means sheer loneliness on my part.

I recently killed one of my best friends.

[and after he's said that last sentence, he claps a hand over his mouth, looks to Jamie, then away. he can't take any of that back. there is nothing he can do to get Jamie to unhear it.]

Jamie, she...she's alive. But the person I knew, my friend, is gone, so I may as well have killed her because of what I had to do and what was done to her.

[note he's not talking about the travelling thing yet...]

I had to do what was done to you--but I had to go further than that. Everything about me, the TARDIS, and all the people and things she's met and done... All of it is gone. Everything. [he looks away from Jamie] She's back to the person she was before she met me, someone who didn't know she was the most important woman in the universe, or how wonderful a friend she was to an old man like me.
