[One by one, the visitors disappear, going back home just as mysteriously as they first arrived. When the final one is gone, there is a change...and then, music begins to play on everyone's CATs as it accompanies a montage video tour of the town until it winds up in the Mayor's office once more. Mayor Caligin smiles warmly before speaking.]

Greetings, citizens of Luministi! As you may know, the 702nd Luministi Founder's Day Festival will take place in less than a week! However, this year's festivities will begin early with a cooking contest held here in the town hall, food and wine tasting in the botanical gardens, and 24-hour film festivals for all ages in our very own Janus Theatre! Throughout the week, there will be various game stations and vendors around the town square, with various rides set up in the park. For those of you with music on the brain, all kinds of musical acts can be found around in and around the gardens.

As always, a health and safety booth will be set up near the park for those who get a little too excited, aren't feeling well, or simply can't make the trek to the clinic.

And this is only the beginning! [Caligin's grin grows broader, his excitement practically oozing out of his pores.] Last-minute volunteers are always welcome to help finish setting up booths and decorations, so direct all queries to Miss Osculia as soon as possible if you're interested.

[The video feed cuts off then. Bird song can be heard outside. The sun is shining brightly with nary a cloud in the sky, but there is a gentle breeze in the air carrying the sweet floral scents from the botanical gardens.]


Plot Details: It's All Your State of Mind

Wow, things seem quite peaceful after the past few weeks, huh? Kinda nice now that things aren't out to kill everyone in some way. As a reward for surviving, everyone gets two weeks filled with celebrations and fun festival-y fun! Everything the mayor spoke about will be around town and more, so if people want to have hot dog eating contests, or sit in a theatre all day watching movies and munching on popcorn, they can certainly do so! Or hey, want to take a ride on the ferris wheel with that special someone? The town is awful pretty at night...

Of course...things aren't going to be as simple as that.

The change mentioned in the IC portion above did one thing. A big thing, but one thing: As far as the characters know, they've always been living in Luministi--and nowhere else. (So anyone who was left in the spacestation at the time will be in the town now.) They have jobs (or summer jobs or just general goofing off in the case of anyone not old enough to have a full-time job and are still school-aged), and have been fixtures in the town of Luministi in various capacities for as long as they can remember. They can't remember their previous lives in their own worlds, but why would they want to? Their lives in Luministi have been...well, that's up to you. What kind of things would your character be doing if they had lived in Luministi for as long as they can remember? Would they be working alongside the Sheriff as a deputy? Would they own their own shop and sell [insert type of food/goods here]? Would they be the town drunk and have a semi-permanent jail cell to cool their heads off overnight? Are they working on a campaign to oust the Mayor in the next election? Have they been having an affair with the cute waiter/waitress who works in the malt shop?

The sky is the limit. Seriously. Everyone still has their powers/abilities, but how they incorporate them is up to you. Oh, and while the pathway to the spacestation is open, characters won't really want to leave the town limits. Why would you when Luministi is a pretty quaint and fun town. Besides, the passage is in the Mayor's House and he usually doesn't entertain. Any thoughts of leaving will just slide away from a character's mind like water on a duck's back.

Granted, the bits of everyone's worlds might ping their true memories for a second, but again, those thoughts will just wash away in the next moment. But speaking of those places, they're all still there, and characters can still hear voices coming from them, but no more euphoric effects. The voices may cause confusion for the characters, but who wouldn't be confused hearing their name called or talked to by someone they can't physically remember?

Strange, how Proctor hasn't shown back up, though...

A few notes of business before I turn everyone loose!

• The 4th wall event is still going strong! I'm absolutely loving seeing everyone there! People can continue to tag it for however long they like so you can finish threads and such. Remember that the 4th wall post is part of game canon! And in the case of this plot, people can still remember the strange visitors and all their odd questions about the town, but they're currently something of a novelty and there are Founder's Day Festival things to be done!
  
  
• Also, I'd normally put up an entry about Activity Check, but everyone's checked in! So I'll just say that here! I'm glad to see everyone~ AC requirements will be returning to normal for the next month, so keep that in mind!
  
  
• One final thing. I will be going on a vacation starting Wednesday until the 18th. I'll still be around and tagging when I can, and the plot schedule is going to stay right where it is, but there is going to be a stretch of time where I definitely won't be available. From the 6th to the 9th, I will not be getting online for tags or anything, but I'll try to check my email every now and then. If anyone needs me during that time, email, PM, or ping me via plurk. I'll be sure to get back to you as soon as I can. If I get any apps during this time, I'll be able to process them after the 9th.

I believe that is it! The "date" of the Founder's Day is July 6th (I know, wonderful timing on my part!), so I might throw up a party post the day before. Gotta have fun before real life comes crashing down, right?

EDIT: I'm a silly person and forgot to include some info on the town's history! (Or rather, the fake history Caligin and his team created in the first season and is definitely what the NPCs in town now all believe is real.) This is a brief history about Luministi (covering the then 700 years of its existence). As for around the town in its fictional world, the nearest city is Centropolis, but there are other cities around there. The country is called Nidea, located on the Northern Continent of a world known as Terra. (Sheriff Iussus revealed all that during his questioning of Braxiatel.) Think of Centropolis as a central hub for culture and life much in the way cities like NYC and London are.

I...don't know if any of that detail will come into play at all, but it's there for you guys to have and play with if you'd like!

What about characters who have kept diaries and such? For example, Ichijou gave his diary to Terezi, would that be more likely to cause suspicion or to be dismissed as some kind of weird novel in progress/book of stupid conspiracy theories from the weird uptight stylist that lives on the other side of town?

Is there a college/university in the nearby area? Kon's college-aged, and I'd think he'd probably head off to college in the fall - I was thinking Lumi probably had something nearby just to keep him entertained, but would it be possible for him to believe that he was going to college in the fall (or is already enrolled and home for the summer)? :|a

He wouldn't want to leave Lumi, I'd think, but it's totally cool if this is an issue.

Sure, it has a college! All buildings like schools and stuff (and homes for the NPCs who work in town, are all off-camera, so to speak. They're there but no one ever really goes there. Things are closed down for the summer and stuff anyway~

So! I want to make as many people as possible Xion's family. Because I can. It's been decided that Natsuo is her cousin who is attached to her hip, and the Doctor is the crazy/cool uncle. Jamie is another cousin who moved here recently. I'm thinking that this would be a really good way to jumpstart some CR, even if it's just so the characters can look back and be like "what." Even if they just grew up together and aren't family! They can just be neighbors or whatever floats your boat. (For example, Vriska is a neighbor! ... who has picked on her since she was little.)

I'm thinking that Xion is working under Verita as junior newsgirl, to make a call back to Season One. This may be somewhat odd, since she'll be known as the nice but shy and awkward kid. ... specifically, boy. Xion won't remember why she's a girl in a boy's body, but she'll remember that she is. Not that she's telling people this, though, unless they're very very close. :|a

Natsuo is Xion's cousin. They're kind of attached at the hip. He's the troublemaker of the neighborhood group of kids. So if a baseball goes through your window? Yeah, probably his fault. Kon is Vriska's older brother and the current owner of the Talon, Luministi's finest coffee shop! (It's also got tea of all kinds; it just specializes in coffee and various pastries.) He's college-bound in the fall, but spends his time working at the Talon to earn money in the meantime. o/

I'm open to pretty much everything with this guy, whether it's old friendships, rivalries, or what-not. He IS jealous of Croix's luck with the ladies (and dudes) and is very, very vocal of it, so something can come of it there. XD

Sweet, I love this type of event.

Kanaya's going to be a middle schooler in her school's fashion club, but with school out, she'll be working as an extra set of hands for Mu. As far as personality goes, she'll be pretty low-key but a nice girl all around, and will mesh best with people of the same type.

If anyone's characters are into the creative scene, I imagine they may have crossed paths at some point. If your character fits the bill, just let me know! Oh, and if anyone needs relatives, Kanaya is all free so far.

So he's working at the movie theater by day, and is a musician by night, complete with a struggling local band which will very likely be a rock-influenced Celtic band with some members that like to wear kilts, which will explain why he has one. And Jamie's accent is obviously all part of the act, too, so there's that.

So if anyone else wants to be in the band or a co-worker or something, let me know? (You don't actually have to have them wear a kilt if you're in the band if you don't want to, though. XD)

Oh yeah, putting a bit of background in this thread is a good idea :V

Ichijou is Xion, Luke, Leaf, and I've lost track of all you damn kids' EVEN WEIRDER, YOUNGER UNCLE. He will of course be a picky stylist. Whether it's your hair or makeup you need done, or if you just need a (probably uninvited) comment on how the way your shoes and purse clash with your outfit makes his eyes want to vomit, Ichijou is THERE.

In an attempt to be popular he budgets his earnings carefully and whenever he accumulates enough, will throw a classy, excessively lavish party in his townhome. Typically people only show up for the free food, occasional beautiful party favors, and high-quality alcoholic beverages, but Ichijou genuinely believes that they're all there because they're his friends and they totally like him. He is... The Mediocre (At Best) Gatsby.

Rumor has it he's such an oddball because getting bullied as a kid messed with his brain, other more superstitious people think he's possessed by a demon or something, but in any case he's not talking. Or if he is talking, it's about how your nails having a mixture of round and square tips is going to make him have an aneurysm.

He also writes shitty novels in his spare time. He wants everyone to read them but he can't handle criticism.

All right, AU details for my boys!

Ten: Dr. John Smith, though he's often just called "Doctor", is an on-call doctor for the clinic, but since Resarci is rarely out, he doesn't always HAVE to go in, so! He does a lot of other things. He's gotten a ton of degrees and continues to study things on the side because he's a super duper genius and likes to do so to keep himself from growing bored. He loves odd jobs and fixing things when they're broke.

In terms of personal life, he did have a family at one point in time years and years ago. Back then, they used to travel a lot more, and his wife had family in Centropolis. Unfortunately, a horrible accident on their way back killed his wife and child but left him with only minor injuries. He...hasn't quite been the same since and he doesn't talk about his family at all to like...anyone. He still longs to travel, but part of him is somewhat scared to out of fear that anyone going with him will be hurt. But his wanderlust is still strong, so that's kinda why he finds other ways of keeping himself busy.

So when he came to be the guardian of a relation's kids? He...kinda had issues at first, but these kids were family after all (he being their super cool uncle), so he tried his best to give them as much attention as he could when he wasn't super busy. He probably missed a ton of school things for them, but always made it up in some way.

At one point in time not to long ago, he was in a relationship with Sophie and had even proposed, but he was turned down and they eventually broke up. It was amicable, so they're still friends.

Oh, he'll be running the health and safety booth during some of the festival! Though, uh, he'll probably be wandering the booths and stuff too since what is responsibility? Everyone's pretty safe anyway...

Wash: Washington is the Deputy Sheriff working under Sheriff Iussus. Everyone just calls him "Deputy Wash" (or just plain "Wash" if you're a friend), and no one really knows what his first name is. Both men had worked for Sheriff Teger until his death, but since Iussus had been there longer, he got promoted. He's mostly okay with this, though he does tend to be more "by-the-book" than Iussus, though he gets on well with his superior. Currently, he's in the process of training a new junior deputy (Croix), and is running a summer program for school-aged children to come job shadow and learn the law enforcement ropes. Success in the program as well as coming back each summer to learn more and do more puts these students on a fast-track to becoming junior deputies once they're out of school for good. He currently has a couple deputies-in-training (including Croix as he can't call himself a junior deputy just yet), so he has quite a bit of work on his hands. He leads a pretty quiet life of a bachelor; he's very much a man who's married to his job, and he kinda has a hard time turning that side of things off. He's never "off-duty". He also has no family in town, so he's pretty much on his own.Sometimes he has dinner with Iussus and his wife, Carolyn, especially during the holidays.

That said, there are rumors going around town that ~something~ might be going on between him and his junior officer-in-training, but there isn't any truth to it. There is, however, a barmaid he's interested in, but despite being in his mid-thirties, the guy is still somewhat of a novice when it comes to relationships, so he hasn't actually...asked her out or anything. He just hangs out in the White Rabbit pub in his off-duty hours and orders non-alcoholic drinks all for the few minutes of interaction he might get with her a night. (Thankfully, the barmaid has noticed and has tried throwing him a few bones that he's...kinda failed to catch, but she's patient.)

He typically takes the nightwatch, patrolling the town into the wee hours of the morning. He kinda tends to grab only a few hours of sleep before going into work because of this, so his training new deputies will definitely help him out.

Flynn will have been one of those kids who had frequent encounters with the law for shoplifting and generally being a delinquent. He's got his nose clean now that he's older, though (rumor has it some girl he met out of town turned it all around), and is hellbent on making something of himself.

In typical Flynn fashion, of course.

Flynn is working on a (possibly joke -- who knows with Flynn!) campaign to take over as mayor. In his spare time he works at the malt shop entertaining people with stories of his shenanigans.

Aaaaand. Because he thinks he's always lived here, there's no reason to be under an assumed name. He believes everyone is fully aware his real name is Eugene Fitzherbert and that Flynn is just a nickname.

Also, I'm up for any other plotting? EVERYONE IS RELATED NOW. o_o

Sophie believes herself to be a member of the Jenkins family, which owns the flower shop in town. Her mother died when she was young, and her father passed away recently, leaving the shop in her care.

She is now Sophie Smith, as she married Dr John Smith in a ceremony in town officiated by the Mayor. They still live separate lives in many respects, as he is often busy with his studies/odd jobs and she is often busy with the shop, but they do spend a lot of time together (although at least half of that is spent arguing). Sophie has also become a life-saver for him in helping to take care of his orphaned nieces and nephews--a job that she has taken to eagerly.

Sophie can typically be found in the flower shop, where she is frequently visited by Natsuo. Even since before she married into the family, he's been helping her in the shop, and she often gives him biscuits and jam and generally tries to be the mother he doesn't have.

In her spare time, she likes to take up her needle and thread and sew clothing. Also, her magic is still intact, though she mostly uses it to keep flowers fresh and experiment with her own garden. Jenkins' flower shop truly has flowers that can't be found anywhere else!

Since it's summer, she'd be talking about her part-time objectives at the police force (?) instead of her school activities.

So far, what I have of Terezi is thus:

She's that girl who likes to run around doing a lot of things, and ever since she's little has been trying to get into some form of law enforcement. Such as her daily attempts in that deputy program/or whatever, which is something I guess I'm still figuring out.

During the school year I guess I'd imagine her to be pretty studious, and striving to be at least pretty great to show off to her mom. Besides the fact her other career choice she imagined to be someday has something beginning with l and r. Although, when she's not having something occupying her time, she can be kind of a troublemaker, all in the name of fun. She's just a kid after all, and kids love having fun!

I.e, has a big thing for justice but also has a mischievous streak. Hehehe.

So far it seems that she's a good pal with Kanaya, loves tormenting Ichijou, and with the others idk rn I'll add in more stuff when that gets confirmed.

Fuu is Jamie's little sister, who between her and cousin Xion managed to convince him to come to Lumi.

She left behind someone she really likes Ferio in Centropolis, and now has a lovely crush on Hawk.
During the Festival Hawk is going to ask her out on a date. (What do?!)

Fuu is horrendously naive when it comes to matters of the heart.

She'll be interning at the library over the summer, and tinkering with everything computer-related when she has the chance.

She loves being helpful and tries to get along well with everyone!

Willis is a student! Middle school, with an interest in graphic design. He's smart, but has a bit of a lazy streak. ... Although by "lazy" I mean "easily gets distracted and does everything relating to the subject except what the homework actually requires of him." Whoops?

Also, people and exploring! Willis loves people and hanging out with them and ignoring his chores to check out everything ever and what do you meeaaan you get in trouble for wandering off too far from the house without any notice, it's totally safe bro. He does this all the time, wandering off and spending more time outside than in the house because he totally doesn't have anything better to do. ... Outside of, you know, getting around to cleaning his room. And that homework assignment that may have been due a week ago.

He and his mother may bump heads a lot. ... He fails to see the reasoning why.

Not sure about much else just yet; always open for plotting shenanigans~
