[Before taking up Nathan on his offer to send him home, Jamie heads back to his townhouse. There's a few things that were left behind that he needs to fetch, like his claymore. And maybe a few other small things that he's kept as mementos of his trip here. He doesn't know if they'll come with him or not, but he wants to try. However, once he steps through the door, he finds himself wandering through the different rooms, rather than immediately collecting his things. It's funny, he thinks. When he had come here, everything was unknown to him. The technology, the people - the man calling himself the Doctor, who didn't look a thing like the funny little man he had just said goodbye to on the moors of Scotland. None of it made any sense. And when the dreams had started, it had made everything even more strange. All those bits of a life he no longer remembered living...for a bit, he thought he was going mad.
He remembers it now, though. Or, well, most of it. Enough that he can recall his adventures with the Doctor easily. All the beasties they fought, all the times they had to live on their wits, and all the people he had come to meet as well. Ben and Polly, who thought of him a bit like a little brother that was always getting into trouble. Beautiful Victoria, who had broken his heart when she left. And clever Zoe, with her head for figures and an impulsive streak to rival his own. Zoe, who was now back home, like he was supposed to be, and without her memories too. What would happen to his memories, when he left? Would Sophie's socks survive the journey and help them stay put? Or would they slip away from him again, leaving him like he was before?
Standing in front of the viewscreen in his living room, he looks at it, or more accurately, through it. He's not really seeing it. Instead, he's thinking about Nathan's offer. The man needs help, and what does he have to go back to? A life on the run, captured or killed by the English? A life without the Doctor? Without realizing it, the CAT's flickered to life during his trip through the townhouse, and if anyone's actually watching, they might see the indecision on his face as he tries to figure out what to do - and when he finally does speak.]
Maybe it'd not be so bad, if I stayed here instead.
((OOC note: For reference, the thread with the Doctor is occurring last, chronologically.))

We traveled together for quite some time before his people sent me home again. And they did something to my memory, so I thought I'd never left at all.
no subject
Now that you remember... What makes it not worth doing?
no subject
[He leaves that thought where it is. Xion is a smart lad. He can likely figure out what would happen then.] Not to mention the Laird and Kirsty are away to France on the Annabelle. I'd have to try and make it to the coast and hide aboard another ship to try and get there myself.
And, well...to be perfectly honest with ye, there's the matter of leaving the Doctor again. I'd not wanted to in the first place, ye ken?
no subject
Yeah... I know. I'm the same way.
[Xion can't help but think... If Jamie decides to stay, and if the Doctor is going to stay, then, maybe -- Maybe it'd be possible for all three of them to travel in the TARDIS together. She can hope for that, at least. But first, she has to help Jamie decide.]
I guess what it comes down to is... What does your heart say?

[Sometimes in good ways, sometimes in bad ways, but always in some way. Jamie looks around the room one last time, Xion's question echoing in his ears, and comes to a realization. While he loves Scotland, and does want to go back someday, he's not ready to give up his adventures with the Doctor. Not quite yet.]
If the Doctor's going to stay, I will too.
no subject
Then, if he stays, maybe... We'll be able to travel together, all three of us.
no subject
Maybe we will, at that. He's not said anything to ye about it, has he?
no subject
I've been looking for him, but I haven't found him yet. I'm going to ask. Nathan said he could get the rest of the TARDIS here, so...
no subject
Aye! If he can, then we'll have the advantage in tracking Resarci down. I'll bet he's not had to try and stay away from a time machine before!
no subject
Speaking of, Xion giggles. (Yep, Jamie. A teenage boy just giggled.)] And if we have to, we can go back in time to get information!
no subject
Oh aye. That's assuming he's gotten any better about actually being able to fly the thing. You'd not believe the places we've wound up when he was trying to take us somewhere else.
no subject
Like where?
[METAPHORIC CHINHANDS]

[It occurs to him, though, Xion might not be familiar with those names, and it might not hurt to check before he goes any further.] I don't suppose you've heard of either place, have ye?

[Sorry, that's about as good of an explanation as he can give about it, even now.]
So they're two different places, even if Polly did think we were on Mars at that time. Not at all the same, aye? Now, if it was just the once we'd landed someplace like that, that'd be one thing. But that's only the start when it comes to showing up in unexpected places.
