[bonnypiperlad]

[In the park is what must be another piece of someone's home - at least, to Jamie's thinking. He's managed to stumble across what appears to be part of some strange room. A large, hexagonal console sits in the middle of a small clearing, partially hidden by some trees. There's a white wall behind it, covered in roundels, and a coat rack standing off to one side, although it appears to be rather coat free at the moment.

The console itself has a lot of wee knobs and switches and some sort of panels on it - at least, from what he can see - and a cylindrical column in the center of the thing looks almost as if it could move up and down if it wanted. He stares at it for a moment before flipping on the CAT.]

Hey, I think I found one of those bits from someone's world. Does anyone know whose it is?

[Something about that console draws him closer, however, and he winds up walking over and reaching out a curious finger to poke at one of those switches. He mutters to himself, not realizing the CAT is picking that up too.]

And why does it look so familiar?

[Jamie nods.] Aye, that's a good description for it. And we did find him eventually. Well, rescued him, more like, along with the others. I never did actually meet him, come to think about it.

[fortune_sought]

But that's good news, Jamie! [she smiles, a little relieved that so far he's remembering good things. of course, she knows that really getting his memory back will surely involve bad experiences as well. something must have happened to cause him to lose it in the first place...]

[but she focuses on this memory for now, frowning at one thing that seems out of place] How do you know you rescued him if you never met him?

[bonnypiperlad]

[It doesn't seem out of place for him. There were simply too many people that had been involved for him to have met them all.]

Well, we rescued all the kidnapped people, and I know he was with them. They'd been able to figure out where they all were, ye see. Besides, Samantha was waiting to see him when I said goodbye to her.

[fortune_sought]

Oh, I see. [she says that, even though she doesn't entirely; that didn't clarify things as well as she would like. but at least it seems to be bringing them closer to the point of the matter that she's hoping to reach...]

You said good-bye? Where did you go then?

[bonnypiperlad]

[It probably doesn't help that Jamie is leaving out large amounts of things that happened, partially due to not fully remembering what is going on yet. He frowns, trying to think what happened next.]

We said goodbye to Ben and Polly, and then we were going to go back to the TARDIS. But someone had taken it, and we saw it being driven off on the back of a lorry.

[fortune_sought]

[Sophie raises an eyebrow, asking eagerly:] The TARDIS? The Doctor's ship, you mean?

[bonnypiperlad]

Aye. But...Sophie, I never traveled anywhere with the Doctor. Or Ben and Polly. They left, and...

[A look of pain - or confusion, or both - crosses his face, and he squinches his eyes shut and gives his head a shake.]

And I came here.

[fortune_sought]

[Sophie frowns, wondering if she's pushing him too far now, but she can't stand the thought of drawing back when she's on the verge of a breakthrough. and, unfortunately, she doesn't quite understand what he means]

They left after you rescued Samantha's brother and the others?

[bonnypiperlad]

[He rubs at his eyes briefly, then lets his hand drop back to his side.] No, I meant after I saw them back across the moors. They got into that wee blue box. The TARDIS. Then...I don't remember what happened exactly, except there was a Redcoat who was trying to kill me, and I fought him just before I woke up in Luministi.

But, aye, you're right there, as well. They had been captured...and I had been too, for a time. When we were all safe, they realized we had come back to the same place they had left, on the same day they started to travel with the Doctor.

I-I don't understand. How is it that both of those things happened?

[fortune_sought]

[Sophie is struggling to understand as well. she shakes her head] I don't know Jamie.

But...I think the Doctor must.

[bonnypiperlad]

Aye. [He lapses into silence for a moment, then takes a steadying breath and looks back over at her.]

You're right. If there's anyone who can help me figure out what's going on, he can. I should...go and try to find him, I think.

[fortune_sought]

[she nods] That sounds like a good idea. [as complicated as her relationship with the Doctor is, she does trust him--and most certainly in this case. she just hopes Jamie is ready for whatever truth he might reveal]

Good luck, Jamie.

[bonnypiperlad]

Right. Time to go. Thank ye, Sophie.

[She's not the only one who's hoping, in this case. Jamie manages a small smile for her, before turning and heading off.]
