luministi | Day 14 | ~ Dearly Beloved ~

[When the video feed turns on, it shows Xion standing in a room that is nondescript and white. There are no decorations, nothing displaying personality, and there isn't a single person who would think that it's a girl's bedroom. It'd be easy to assume that she's somewhere in the space station, not in her town home, if Luministi itself wasn't directly visible.

The CAT must be sitting on a table, because Xion can be seen in front of a window with her back to the camera. After a moment, she speaks, still not showing her face.]

It's weird... Isn't it? Pieces of our worlds are starting to show up in town... And here I thought once we destroyed those two objects, we'd be going home. [But... Where would she go? She tries not to think about it.

Xion shakes her head, then turns to look at her CAT.] Lately, I've been wondering... What's waiting for everyone back home? What are you wanting to go back to? More importantly... Who are you wanting to go back to? [Because everyone's got somebody, Xion thinks. How can they not?] I realized, not too long ago, that even though I have so many friends here that are so important to me... I don't know much about them. Not really. So... I want to know.

[Well. In the meantime...] I want to search for Lab #3. The sooner we find it, the better. I think that, since there are doors from the space station to our houses, maybe somewhere in town there's a door that secretly leads to that place. Maybe in the mansion, since we haven't really had a chance to explore it yet. Does anyone wanna look with me?

Yeah... My clothes are kept in the closet, and there's a trunk under the bed for other little things. But it's not like I have much...

[He perks up a bit.] Did you find a way?

That's it? ... That's boring. You need more things.

[Sophie is still quite taken aback] It's just...why would they make you keep it so empty!?

It's simple, really: I enjoy being alive, and I enjoy being able to eat, drink, and sleep at my leisure. It's pleasant to be treated like a person rather than a pet or a piece of furniture.

-Speaking of furniture, that's an interestingly designed room. Very modern.

Not so much… we were having problems back home. The Guild got taken over by people with completely different goals, and they controlled everyone else into doing their will.

Then you should check! I'm sure he'll be glad to hear from you. [beaming]

Hi, Xion!

[She gives a cheery wave and settles into the seat across from her. (She doesn't even have to look at the menu - she knows what she'll order.
Her smile is a touch serious as she looks at him.]

I'm glad to see you. And, thank you for asking such an important question earlier. I think you're right - we've become friends, but we still don't know too much about each other.

[Xion looks down a little.]

It came to me not too long ago, a little bit before we could get to the space station... Sophie's having a baby. A baby! And there's someone she wants to go back to, someone she wants to see and be with even when she's mad at them. It made me realize... We're all like her, aren't we? Most of us, anyway. With people we want to go back to...

[blinkblink] They didn't.

What are their goals?

You're right. I-I will.

It sounds like your world wasn't very nice. I wouldn't like that at all, either. [... Being alive?] Wait, so, you're -- What do you mean by... alive?

Mo... dern? [headtilt]

We're almost done here, I think. If we find Lab #3 and Audrey, then we'll be that much closer. Last time, when we found the space station, we were sent immediately home. So I can't imagine we're that far off.

More things? Like what?

[Sophie blinks back at her] Then why is it so empty? [unusually, the question isn't pointed at all--just curious, and perhaps a bit worried]

[That makes him smile, a little] Okay. I'll help if I can.

Things! Like stuffed animals? Dolls? Things you like?

[It takes Jamie a minute to puzzle through that reaction - and then it occurs to him what Xion must have thought.] Oh! Ye thought I meant that they'd not survived. No, last I saw, they were both alive.

[Still, a faint shadow crosses his face. So many of the others weren't now.]

I'd left, to see the others back to their wee blue box, so I couldn't say for certain. I think they'll have gotten away, though.

Y-yes, but- I'm sorry, Xion, but baby?! Miss Sophie is going to have a baby?

[This is totally news to her! She claps her hands together excitedly.]

How wonderful that she could tell you, well, all of that!

To gain the Holyland, and the Mana Sword. One of them said something about a Dark Prince, but all I'm able to draw from that is that they're his servants.

[thumbs up!]

[Thoughtfully:] It's nice for some people. -Ah, about being alive, the situation probably isn't what you think it is. I apologize - I should have been more clear. I was very much alive before, though it's uncertain how long I would have remained in that state if I hadn't shown up here. [He makes a sweeping arm motion as if brushing those thoughts away.]

Modern, yes! Minimalist styles like that of the room you're in have been considered very fashionable in recent years.

[laksdfj;k F-Fuu didn't know?]

Y-Yeah, she is! She said it's too early to know anything else about it, though. I didn't know that normal peo... [Xion catches herself and shakes her head.]

S-So, what about you, Fuu?

It's not like I've got a lot of things.

[^^;] I'm glad.

Blue box? [headtilt]

[blink. blink. heeeaaaadtilt]

Oh... Okay. I see. [Xion nods.] It's just -- That kind of thing is important. The people who are running this project, they want to figure out how to bring the dead back to life.

Oh... I-I see. I don't think that's why the castle is the way it is, though.
