◌ 002 ◌ Calling Miss Osculia
[With thinly veiled amusement Fuu scrolls through the CAT's phone list until she finds the contact for Miss Osculia at the Mayor's Office. The CAT is just so wonderfully convenient! Minus the bizarre trouble with the weather forecast, it is quite the useful tool. It even lists all the people who have been summoned here. (Sadly, Hikaru and Umi are not listed.)]
[Taking a breath to settle herself she has the CAT call Miss Osculia. It being late afternoon, she hopes that she's not catching her at a busy time...]

Good afternoon, Miss Osculia. Fuu Hououji calling. If I may have a moment of your time? I have some questions to ask that I hope you can answer, or direct me to whom else to talk to.

(don't mind me moving my comment ^.^o)
First, I was wondering if there was someplace I could practice archery. You see, it's been nearly two weeks since I've been able to practice, and I would appreciate it if I could continue the discipline while here.
Then second, I would like to be as much help to everyone here as possible - perhaps even get a job. Would it be permissible for me to do so? I'm afraid that I don't know how long a term I could commit to, and I'm just 14 years old, but I hope I can be of some help.
And thirdly, I would like to request an appointment with the Mayor. I promise to not take too much of his valuable time, and I am available to come to him whenever he has a moment.
...[A breath of a pause. While she's asking things, she might as well ask about something that Miss Osculia might relate to personally.]
And if I may, Miss Osculia, there are many different and wonderful types of food to try in this town. Is there any local speciality you might personally recommend for me to try next?
[Which reminds Fuu that she still has to let Verita know that she found the sushi surprisingly good. How remiss of her!]

For job inquiries, you will need to talk to the owner of wherever it is you would like to work, and I'm certain they'll be able to tell you more.
But for an appointment... [a pause and more rummaging] I'm sorry, but he's very busy today. However, he could speak to you at this time tomorrow, if you'd like. Shall I schedule that for you?
[stiffly, as though she's said this many times before] There are certainly many fine establishments in this town, all of which would be wonderful choices. [pauses, her tone growing more natural] But there is a sweets shop with quite an assortment of treats produced quite near here, if you're looking for something local.

[Fuu smiles a little. She knows just the place to inquire. Indeed, maybe even two. It is good to know that there is no outright rules against it though.]
Yes, please. Quarter after three tomorrow, I will be there.
[Ah, way to be double booked right off, though. Well, she would go to the archery club and would simply have to excuse herself at three to get to the appointment if the club was still running at that time.]
Yes, I am most interested in the local treats, and that sounds perfect! [Her enthusiasm is quite sincere, for she hasn't gone into the sweets shop yet. With a pang she is reminded of her sister, who always asked for the chick pastries from Tokyo Tower every time she went.]
I will take your recommendation to heart. Yet I'm afraid I might not get there soon, with the inconvenience of the weather and all.
Ah, I don't suppose anyone has already logged a concern with you about the weather forecast on the CATs yet?
no subject
[surprised] About the weather forecast? No, no one has. What concern do you have?
no subject
[Really, she could only vouch for a couple people besides herself, but from what she'd seen and heard...]
The CATs are giving us very peculiar forecasts, and then each time we step outside, that's what it is. I had 33 degrees and hot, then 42 degrees with thundershowers changing into minus 1 and snow within minutes, torrential rain... Yet once we step back inside it looks fine outside and we bear no ill effects.
I'm sorry. This must sound quite unusual. But if you would like more details, I can certainly talk to you tomorrow when I come to the office.

Thank you. Good day, Miss Osculia.
[ooc: And darn what timing for the Mayor to get sick the day of her appointment XD
Fuu will still come by the office at the appointed time and long-story-short Miss Osculia about the odd weather and the CATs though.]
