◌ 023 ◌ Watching us, watching them
Good ...evening. Although it was light just a little while ago. Luministi sure knows how to set a mood!
I've just received an invitation to the festival that I cannot refuse. [She holds up a mask in front of her face for a moment.] Would anyone like to accompany me? Although, it wouldn't surprise me if you've all received an invitation too, in which case I'll see you there! ...Or not, with these masks. Mmm. Well, I'll be wearing this [she holds up the mask again] and a pink kimono. Please wave if you see me!
[Despite her cheerful banter she's quite serious about meeting others because this event has all the potential to be a trap. And danger is best faced as a team.]
[[ooc: I'm hoping one or two others might like to come with Fuu to the arches, but lots of mingling potential before she gets that far!
EDIT: Sophie and Fuu will be taking the right arch (#3) when they get that far ^.^]]

I'd never turn down an invitation to a festival. And these masks are quite incredible, aren't they? [smiles, holding his own up to his face] I'll be glad to see you there!
no subject
I look forward to seeing you there too, Hawk, now that I know what you'll look like!
[...And fast-forward to Fuu sipping cautiously on water at the party. (Because of what happened last year... yah. But the food looks so good-!)]
no subject
Enjoying the festival so far?
no subject
Yes, it's very elegant and beautiful. I've not been to anything quite like it.
no subject
No, nor have I. Not without other expectations, at least. [and he might have been pickpocketing anyway, just to see if his hand is still in… >.>] It's a nice change from the last couple of weeks.
no subject
Completely stunned that he'd kissed the back of her hand, (like, what?!) Fuu doesn't even register anything else that he was saying to her, and makes no response.
Blushing vividly, she holds one hand to her mouth, her eyes unfocusing as she remembers the first time she'd been kissed like that... and tries to process what such a kiss from Hawk means.]
no subject
[He hadn't thought she'd react quite that way… embarrassed, certainly, but not this much. He waves a hand in front of her eyes, concerned.] Are you alright?
no subject
Oh- yes, sorry! I'm fine! Fine! Ah- [still blushing, she tries to focus. Tries.]
You were saying? [She has no clue what he'd been saying.]
no subject
Well, I was wondering- is that something you'd wear back home?
no subject
Yes, it's called a kimono. It's a traditional formal robe.
no subject
So it's not something you'd wear often? That's a shame. Though… can you dance in it?
no subject
And what made him ask if she could dance in it?]
Ah, well, it's hard to even walk in it. But there are some traditional dances that are done with a kimono.
no subject
Well, then… would you be able to show me? [He holds out a hand as invitation, even if he's not sure it would actually suit the dance. He's sure she'll say.]
no subject
I- I'm sorry. It's usually a solo dance, sometimes with a fan. I don't really know how to do it very well... but... it's like this?
[She starts to dance like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NJhVZtNFDw&feature=related) for about ten seconds, improvising the use of her mask for the fan.
She then stops with a sigh.]
I like square dancing, actually. But it's not very popular in Japan.
no subject
If you like it, you shouldn't let that stop you. There's probably others interested, too- how many people live in Tokyo? What's that kind of dancing like?
no subject
[She laughs a little at his questions]
Well there are nearly 13 million people in Tokyo. So you would think the odds would be with me, but it's a cultural thing. There is a little club, though!
As for what it looks like! I'm afraid I really can't show you in a kimono. I'll show it to you some other time though!
no subject
I'd like that! [he grins] Perhaps I could show you something in return?
no subject
[She smiles enthusiastically in return.]
You would? That would be really neat! You'd show me a dance?
no subject
Indeed!
no subject
I really look forward to seeing it!
no subject
Then I'll definitely do my best!
no subject
Perhaps so!
I'm sure it will be awesome. Can you tell me what kind of dance it is?
no subject
Most of it's mimicry, with something like a jig.
no subject
[She does a headtilt at that. Mimicry?]
I suppose I'll have to see it to understand it! To be fair, I couldn't explain square dancing either, though!
no subject
Mm, I think that's the best way to go about it.
