[Sophie is in the Town Square again, though this time with a very large shopping bag set on the ground at her feet. while she is standing calmly enough, there are some subtle signs of the anxiety and exhaustion that she's been feeling lately. her hair isn't quite as neat as usual, and her dress looks a tad wrinkled. in fact, it's a new dress--forest green, edged in lace, but a very simple design overall. the skirt of it is very loose, clearly designed with plenty of leeway, for a reason that those looking closely at her might notice. at this point in her pregnancy, Sophie has started to show a small baby bump]

Hello again, everyone. [she clasps her hands in front of her as she talks, that calm expression becoming a bit more nervous. she glances around, as though concerned about being overheard, before she continues] Many of you asked me for charms before, and I've finished them all. If you'd like to meet me in the Town Square, I have them here.

This would also be a good opportunity to discuss other recent...events, as well. In person is best, I think. [she smiles somewhat grimly]

I look forward to talking to all of you. [reaching out to the CAT, she ends the transmission]

Ah, yes. [she sighs. she was hoping for something a bit more substantial] But you do know that everything we do in this town is monitored?

Yes, I know... I've found a few things searching in the town, but little by the way of an identity for the murderer. Have you found anything?

[curious] Oh? [she smiles a little, amused at the implication] And how did it come out?

[desertdaggers]

[he nods, and pulls a face] Just to make things even more difficult than they already are!

A vial, but otherwise… [opens his hands, palms up, and shakes his head]

I had to redo it so it stopped coming apart. [smiles back]

A lot of things seem to be in this town for that reason.

[raises an eyebrow] A vial of what? Do you know? Only Mr Braxiatel and I found Resarci's notes about the poison and antidote from last time lying about.

[still smiling] But it was better the second time, I hope?

[desertdaggers]

I suppose it's all part of the set-up.

Probably some kind of poison. It might be the same one, I suppose… I'm a little reluctant to try it, without being sure I could reverse the effects.

It was indeed! One of my friends helped me check to make sure, even.

[Sophie looks a bit horrified at that suggestion] You most certainly should not! Is there something else you could test it on? An insect, perhaps? Or Mr Braxiatel might have a way to determine if it's the same, if you ask him.

Well, I'm glad to hear it came out all right in the end.

[desertdaggers]

Mm, asking Braxiatel would be the best. Does he specialise in these sorts of thing?

[nods and smiles] It taught me a lot about how much it helps to do something right the first time, too.

[rather dryly] I sometimes wonder if there's anything he doesn't specialise in... But yes, he seems to. I'm certain he'll know a way to find out.

[amused] At least you learned from the attempt?

[desertdaggers]

It makes one feel a little redundant… Though I'm still sure we'll all be able to contribute.

[another nod] And I was the only one with any pride lost!

[fortune_sought]

[she snorts] Well, I'm certain he'd be glad to be looked up to so. [but she knows what Hawk means. he's definitely someone Sophie always feels relieved to turn to in a crisis] And of course we will! There's too much town for any one person to investigate, after all.

If it means so much to you, I could teach you, if you still have an interest?

[desertdaggers]

Mm, I should think anyone would hate to be the only one trying to deal with this place!

[he thinks about it for a little while, then nods.] I'd like that. Is there anything I should do to prepare?

[fortune_sought]

[purses her lips] Yes, I definitely agree with you there.

[considers that] Decide if there's anything in particular you'd like to do, and come with plenty of patience.

[desertdaggers]

Apart from anything else, it'd get lonely.

[nods again] All right. And is there any particular time that would be best?

[fortune_sought]

That would only be the beginning, I'm sure.

I think that depends on the town more than either of us. Erm...perhaps not first thing in the morning, but really, any time is fine otherwise.

[it feels a bit odd to say that--she's a morning person, really--but morning sickness is not treating her as well as she could have hoped]
