Day 11 | ~ Finality ~

[Xion is standing by the window and staring at the stars, hood down, one arm behind her so she can hold her elbow with her other hand. So many stars... So many more than she ever saw in Traverse Town.

Traverse Town. She's... She's going back there. Going back home. And once she's there... She needs to go back where she belongs. She needs to go back to Twilight Town, find Riku and Naminé and DiZ... and go back to Sora.

If she said she wasn't scared, she would be lying. She is. She knows this will be the last time she will see these stars, these people... The last time she'll get to see her friends here.

After a moment, she sighs softly and shifts her weight to one leg before turning and walking away from the window.]

[aghast] Okay!? I certainly hope you're not "okay"! I wouldn't be.

[but, realising that may have come out a bit strong, she pauses, looking awkward. tries to tone down her temper] Not to say that it's not...necessary. Simply that...there's no reason you should need to be "okay" with it.

[Xion does flinch a little at Sophie's words.] Why not?

Because there's no reason you should be okay with the fact that you...with... [gives a sweeping gesture of frustration, struggling for words she simply doesn't have] Well, it's monstrous, is what it is! Asking especially someone of your age to do such a thing. There's nothing even remotely "okay" about it!

The boy who needs to wake up? Sora? He has... a lot of friends waiting for him. They need him, and he needs them, too. It's not okay for me to keep him from them, either.

[angry] And there is no reason it should be like that--one or the other. It's not...it's not fair!

But that doesn't mean you should accept it like it's okay. Whoever's done this to you...they don't deserve that satisfaction!

What am I supposed to do, then? Why shouldn't I be okay with it? I don't... I don't want to be mad at Sora. He doesn't deserve that. I don't...

... I don't... I don't want to go away angry.

No, I didn't say I wanted you to--[scowls, frustrated, lowering her gaze and balling her hands into fists] It should never have come to this.

But it has. I... There's nothing I can do. Nothing... I know to do.

[looks up at her, her emotions bursting out as usual] I could talk life into you! But what would happen to this "Sora" then!?

I... [Xion sighs.]

I was created, not born. [She's going to be saying this explanation a lot.] And I was blank -- my face, my personality... There was nothing. But when I started to take the powers of Sora, I took his memories, too. I... Everything I am is based on Sora's memories. And he needs them back if he's going to wake up. So when I give his memories back to him... Everything that is me will cease to exist. There won't even... be a memory of me left.

[stares at her] But there will be ours!

[Xion shakes her head.] All the links in this chain of memory... will fall apart.

[shakes her head] No. No, it can't reach that far!

Our hearts are connected, even... across all the worlds.

Of course they are! So of course we'll remember.

But you won't -- That's the thing. All of the links, all of the memories involving me, will go away, because what they're tied to will be gone, completely.

I don't believe that. You'll stay in my memory--in all of our memories--for the rest of our lives. Do you hear that!? [she's never tried to use magic like this before, but it's all she can think to do]

[Xion stays quiet for a long moment. Naminé... Memories are what she does. She's right, she has to be. But... But...]

[Sophie is speechless briefly] ...thank you as well.

What you've told me isn't right, but...I'm proud to know someone who could face it so bravely.

I...hope your friends are well. And you, as well. [because she doesn't want to believe that Xion will simply be gone. she refuses to]

I... I hope so, too. [Xion presses her hand over her chest. Roxas... and Axel...

She wishes she would have a chance to say good-bye to Axel, too. But maybe... Maybe she'll be able to find him on the clock tower, if she waits long enough.]

I'm... glad I had a chance to come here and meet all of you.
