[Hawk's on the observation deck, hands tucked into pockets. He's a little restless and shifting from foot to foot, though he's trying not to let that show too much.] Amazing view, isn't it? I've never seen the stars this close. [quietly, mostly to himself] I wonder if the Holyland would be like this.

[attention attention on the CAT, now] Seems like a good spot for a farewell party, if anyone wants to do that. Haven't got anything much right now, but I'm sure we can all grab things we like.

[Already there on the deck! Cissie waves at Hawk.] You said something about a farewell party?

... I don't think I can say good-bye to someone I've never met, so. [she smiles, holding out a hand] How about we say 'hello until we meet again?'

[he grins, and takes her hand to shake that] Good point. Hello, then! I'm Hawk.

I suppose it might be too much to hope that we'd get to stay at home. [small laugh] Maybe they'll ask next time.

[giggles] Not at all! Using my last name's too formal.

Maybe... though I kinda doubt it. They never ask.

Music, definitely. [folds her arms, looking thoughtful] Food... maybe a souvenir or two... and if we can grab a camera from somewhere, I wanna take pictures.

[he sighs, and then looks curious] You've had similar experiences?

Sounds good. [another curious look before turning towards the shops] A camera? How does it work?

Unfortunately. Interdimensional travel's pretty common in my world if you know the right people.

[Hmmm, how does she explain this...] It's like a machine that "captures a moment" on paper. It may sound bad, but I promise, most people use it for good.

[looks intrigued, but pushes it down] I guess it could be bad if they weren't on your side, then.

So it makes keepsakes? That does sound good.

[smiles, coming up behind him on the observation deck] I think that sounds like a wonderful idea.

[turns and grins] Well, we got through to the Mayor! A celebration seems in order. What do you think we should get?

Hmm...food, for a start. And maybe music? For those of you who are a bit younger, at least.

Well, of course! What kind?

We can get music? How? Performers? [looks puzzled]

Anything we'd like, I'd suppose.

[smiles in amusement] In a world with technology like this, I'm sure we can find something a bit simpler.

So what kind of food do you like?

… It would've been inconvenient every time he sent a message. So how does that work?

I like to try new things. Has anything here caught your eye?

[curiously] Are you really interested in the science of it, or would you rather just see it in use?

Hmm… The seafood, perhaps? I'm not very used to that.

More how it's used. I'm not sure if I could entirely follow the science. [awkward smile]

That sounds perfect.

[smiles back, understanding] Then to put it simply, sounds are...imprinted, onto a disc. A special machine can read these imprints, producing the music. Shall we see if we can find a machine like that?

[She's not so sure she's in a mood to party, but she comes to meet Mister Hawk on the observation deck with food in hand and a smile on her face.]

Hello, Mister Hawk. An unbelievable ending, isn't it? [Indicates the spaceship and the stars.]

Who would've thought it? [he turns to look at her, grinning] We get really clear nights back home, but this- we must be a lot closer! How do they do it? And- just Hawk's fine. After everything!

Can I try some? [indicates the food]

[Fuu can't help but laugh at that!]
Oh, a lot closer indeed! If I understand our situation correctly, we are on a starship. [She can't help but have her voice resonate with excitement at that.] We are sailing among the stars.

[Smile~!] Thank you, ...Hawk.

Oh! [She finds a nearby table and unwraps what she'd brought. Neatly arranged in the top of a lacquered box is a lovely assortment of sushi (http://exurbanpedestrian.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/sushi.jpg).]
I'm very sorry I couldn't make something myself, but they do have quite good sushi here. [Hands Hawk a pair of chopsticks.] Please, try any one you like.

[his face lights up] Sailing among the stars! That's amazing! Though I suppose it'd be dangerous to try and touch them.

[smiles back!]

Ah, that's all right. Maybe we'll get another chance sometime. [takes the chopsticks and goes for one of the pieces wrapped in seaweed. He's not very skillfull with them, and ends up catching the piece in one hand and popping it in his mouth. He gives her a sheepish grin.] These're a little tricky to use, huh?

[laughs a little] Even though they seem so close, you can't touch them, I'm afraid. And technically, it would be dangerous. But it's nice to imagine!


[grins at his eating - good catch!] A little, but it just takes some practice. Happily, it's still all right to eat these with your hands.
But I can teach you, if you like?

It is! I wonder if they'd have spirits like ours? What would they look like?

Oh, good. [looks somewhat relieved- he wouldn't like to hurt her feelings by committing a faux pas] Yes, please.

[Glances out the window. Spirits? Really?] Lovely, I'm sure.


[And Hawk gets a happy lesson in proper chopstick usage (http://prochef360blog.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/001-03-039d-the-use-of-chopsticks.gif)! Fuu settles the sticks in his hands and adjusts and encourages as needed until Hawk can pick up a sushi roll.]

Wisp looks a little like a flame, except… [he makes a circling kind of gesture] You know, made of light. I hear Salamando's basically a big flame, too. Maybe they'd look like that- be cousins of some sort. If they have cousins, I don't know how that works.

[it takes a fair bit of practice, and he drops at least one chopstick a couple of times, but he just about beams when he's got it right. Now to make sure it doesn't fall off before being eaten!]
