Ohhh, you do, huh? [he smiles, proud of her] Actually, I was about to answer Audrey's door after I finished this cuppa. Would you care to join me?

[sldkhgldskhg;fjkdsfyayyayyay] O-Okay. Where do you want to meet?

How about the front entrance? We can head over to the door together. [has a sip of his tea]

Okay. I'll see you there.

[through the magic of time elapse technology, he's waiting for Xion to arrive. though he currently has his back turned, the sonic screwdriver out as he's trying once again to see if the door will open for him. Xion might hear a strange whirring noise...]

[Hi, Doctor. Have a replica suddenly poking her head around your side.] What's that?

This--[holds it out for her to look at, but he doesn't let her take it (he's protective)]--is my sonic screwdriver. It can, well, it can do a lot of things, actually. One of its functions is to unlock doors--but I still can't open this one. [sighs and tucks the silver instrument back into his inside coat pocket] Ah well. Worth a try. Shall we? [smiles]

Maybe I should try the Keyblade again?

Again? [thinks about it briefly] Well, why not? Go ahead!

[She backs up so there will be room. She summons Aubade and raises her arm (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gdb4QVRycZ0&t=12m40s), pointing the end at the door, and...]

[he stands aside, watching curiously--but nothing happens in the end.] Hmm, it was worth a try. [smiles and holds his hand out] Come on, we've got a bartender to visit.

[Disappointed and a little confused, Xion lowers her arm, dismissing the Keyblade in its customary flash of light. She doesn't like that it's not working here. It breaks the laws of everything she's ever known.

She blinks at his hand, but then shyly takes it, looking up at him with slightly wide eyes.] Okay.

[gives her hand a squeeze then leads her to the locked door in the southeast end of the house. once there, he removes his CAT and scans it over the door panel. Audrey's voice rings out a second later:]

"I'm as boisterous and cheerful as they come, but mentioning this can kill my good mood. What is it?"

Well! Want to give it a go, Xion?

Ah -- um... [sldkhgkdf this. this isn't one she said she knew. um.]

[he realises that, but had hopes...] I'll answer it if you'd like. We really ought to get inside.

[... :< That face. But -- even if it weren't for the expression he's making, she... doesn't like that she doesn't have an answer. She has to try; she wants to be helpful. But... She doesn't know this girl at all. The bartender, right? How is she supposed to...? The best she can do is just. Guess, based on what she knows. What are things that kill her mood?]

... b... bad memories? [sdlkhgdslkg. so lame. ._. ugh.]

[he waits for the door to respond, but it gives a negative buzz at the answer. he gives Xion's hand a reassuring squeeze]

You're close. It's got to do with memories, definitely, but bringing it up has got to drudge up memories she can't bear to think about! Have you seen her lately? Ever since the murders, she hasn't been as boisterous. Like someone snuffed the light out of her as well...

I haven't. I've never been to the bar. [._.] I don't think I've actually met her...

No? Well, you're about to. You'll like her, I think! She knows a bit about lose as well. [he leans in towards the door] Her brother--[and he leans back]--was the final victim.

[the door gives a ding of approval and opens up to reveal--

the interior of the White Rabbit pub, and Audrey Ardes within. Or rather a facsimile of it. The walls of the room are painted to resemble the pub's interior, but the only real objects in the room are a few bar stools and the bar itself. even the rows of alcohol behind Audrey are only painted on.]

Well if it isn't the groom-to-be, and--oh, hello there, darling! Don't think I've seen you before!

[Guess who's gone shy? She stands a little behind the Doctor.] ... Hi.

[and he goes a bit sheepish] Yes, well... [he looks to the side (mainly to avoid the whole marriage issue--even if it is fake) and realises that Xion has moved] Audrey, this is my friend, Xion. Bit shy, you know how it is.

[she smiles, not as broadly as she might have otherwise, and motions for them to have a seat on the bar stools in front of her] Come on over here. I'm not going to bite. You've probably got questions about this place, don't you?

[Xion comes over and wiggles her way up on to a bar stool. She... doesn't really know what to say, but she nods. She figures she should let the Doctor do the talking for now; he's good at that, and he has a better idea about what's going on than she does.]

[just as he takes a seat, he notices that the door has shut itself tight behind them. somehow, he isn't surprised] Ohhh, I've got a lot of questions--like why have you been locked up in here? I was told that Verita had been locked up in one of the rooms for her own protection. Is that the case with you as well?

[her face clouds over and she wraps her arms around herself as if she's cold] No. We weren't given a reason, just told we can offer up some answers about this place for you folks, but I can venture a guess what the real reason is. He wants to suss out who's the mole since Resarci failed to kill them all.

The mole? [Xion isn't really sure what she means by that, but -- ] The doctor's the one who -- What?

[She feels miles behind everyone else. ._.]

[his face goes dark] So...he really did. I thought as much--why else would he run away when my other self tried to confront him?--but where is he now?

[she continues to look a little nervous] Yeah, a mole. Someone who wants to stop this project from continuing, and there's no doubt in my mind that he's the one who was going around killing people. [but at the Doctor's question, she looks away] I--I don't know. Iussus is supposed to be searching for him, but he has a lot of other things on his plate.

What project? Us being in the town?

[pulls his CAT out, pulling up the video he'd recorded when Fuu played it some time ago and starts to play it for Xion] I believe she's talking about this, correct? [directs the question to Audrey]

[she nods, but waits for the video to finish before speaking] Yes, it is about you, all of you who were brought here against your will. There weren't ever any applications filled out either, that much I know. How all of you have been brought here though...I really don't know.

If there weren't "applications" filled out... Why us? I mean, I -- ... [Xion looks at her hands.] Of all the people they could've chosen from where I come from...

And that program... The "tests". How could you or anyone just stand by and watch those things happen to us?

Like I said, I don't know, Xion. That's one of the few things I haven't been able to find--that I wasn't told about. From what I can tell, the selection is entirely random. You were just unlucky... [her expression filled with sadness, she reaches a hand out to reassure Xion, but stops and forces her hand to fall to her side]

You don't understand. None of you do. I had no...I didn't want... [she hangs her head, arms wrapping around her body again] People weren't supposed to die or get hurt.

[After a moment, Xion gets up and moves decidedly to vault over the side of the bar with the intention of giving Audrey a tight hug.]

[she looks up, expecting that action to lead to some sort of violence--but is surprised by the look on Xion's face] I'm so sorry...

[ooc: Skipping the Doctor this round!]

[Xion shakes her head.] I believe you.

[stays on his side of the bar] I do as well, Audrey, but why stay? You're not bound to this town like we are. I mean, I'd like to know several things about this town, like how the barrier works, how buildings that are said to exist suddenly show up out of nowhere overnight, and what sort of technology has been used to cloak certain things around town like the viewfinder and telephone booth. It's far beyond the normal technological know-how of humans who live in a place that looks like this.

[softly] Thank you. Both of you.

[but she doesn't blink an eye at the mention of the viewfinder or phone booth] I'm stuck here for...slightly different reasons, but like you, my darlings, I can't leave. Not yet. I can only tell you so much about the technology used around here, like the shielding used to mask the presence of the botanical gardens and this very house are the same and the buildings were always here. You just weren't allowed to see them yet, not until it was time or Dr. Caligin gave the okay to unveil it. But that restaurant in the trees, The Chrysalis, that wasn't there before. Dr. Resarci constructed it, and I haven't been able to tell if he did so on his own or Dr. Caligin approved it.

Why are you stuck here?

[Xion thinks for a moment.] If the mayor didn't know, then... The doctor must've hidden it while it was being built, right? With the same technology, somehow?

It's complicated... Unfortunately the whole situation is, sugar pie. The Dr. Caligin believes it's one of us who is the mole, and he's allowed us to tell some truths about the project--but only if asked the right questions. Once you've heard enough, you can leave this room. I think he will want to speak with you all soon enough.

But don't get me wrong, I personally think Caligin knew about the building of the restaurant, or he was brought aboard on the idea after Dr. Resarci had started construction. He has that way about him. I mean, you saw how the Caligin reacted to Verita being turned into doll! That wasn't supposed to happen. Nothing after the festival was supposed to happen, but once Resarci really got his hooks into Caligin, he had free reign.

[ooc: Skipping the Doctor again.]

[... that just leaves Xion frustrated.] What does even it matter if there's a mole? We just want to go home.
