I'm completely in agreement with his suggestion, so, would anyone like to team up with me? I think I know the answer to Miss Osculia's question.

Ah, is the Mayor's wife in Luministi as well?

[a smile plays across Sara's lips, glad for something amusing in the midst of all this seriousness. she decides to let Miss Osculia handle this part of the conversation]

[snorts] I should hope not. And he wouldn't subject her to anything like this in any case.

Oh, is that so? The Mayor must greatly trust your ability to handle this to have you here, then!

...But then, Miss Verita's mother isn't here. That must be so hard for her.

That's one way to look at it. [though her tone makes it clear she disagrees with that reasoning]

[gravely] Verita has much more to worry about than that now.

But I think I've told you all I can tell. It's probably best you leave now. There's no telling how Constantine may react when he finds out about this conversation.

[Well, she knows a dismissal when she hears it, and it would be bad to get Miss Osculia in outright trouble with the Mayor. (But she doesn't quite get what's so bad about this part of the conversation, given everything else they spoke of.)]

[Deeply bows] Thank you, Miss Osculia. You have been quite helpful.
[So long as the answers were all truthful! But then, why bother lying when all this trouble had been taken for the setup-- and speaking of, there was the unopenable door.]

[she nods, but her expression is sad] I haven't done it for you. This was because of Constantine.

Try the door. I have a feeling you'll be able to leave now.

[after it receives security clearance, at least, but someone needs to push the door first]

[And Fuu will obligingly try the door]
[She's got to hurry and write this all down! She's really kicking herself for not setting her CAT to record it all...!]

[the door rings out with a mechanical voice:] Security clearance required.

This is Miss Osculia, granting clearance.

[the door pops open]

There are you. [gives another thin smile]

And...good luck.

[Fuu bows, surprised but grateful for Miss Osculia's last words. She really isn't so bad after all, is she.]

...You aren't coming out with us?

[smiles wryly] I doubt Constantine would be so obliging. But I have a feeling we'll see each other again.

If you're all right then... [The concern on her face melts away into a smile.] That's a good thing! We'll have a nicer conversation over a box of chocolate covered cherries next time then.

[As the door closes behind them, Fuu then bows to Ms Sara.]

Thank you very much for coming with me. I really couldn't have made it without you.

[gives Fuu a smile] Oh, I think you did just fine. I'm sure you would have without me.

[Returns her smile a bit sadly] Not at all. I might very well have left the door after my third wrong answer, or asked to leave the room in the face of Miss Osculia's indignation. And in doing so, I would have missed out on all the important information she gave us!
But you encouraged me, and believed in what I was saying. So, thank you.

[amused] It sounds to me like you should be thanking yourself, too. But I'm glad I could help. It's been a very long time since I was last able to be an...active part...of an event like this.

[With a bright smile she clasps Ms Sara's hand gratefully.] It was an excellent team effort!
And not to worry, I'm sure that Luministi will provide you with more events.

[With one last glance at the door she sighs tiredly and moves down the hall.]
That was exhausting, but I must immediately go write down what happened. I don't want to miss any detail, because who knows what might be important later.

Ms Sara, may I trouble you for the favour of your company a bit longer? I would very much value your memory of that conversation, to make sure that I record everything. Oh, but I wish I'd set the CAT to record it!

[laughs] I suppose it was!
