Volume 1 [text post]

[No violence or rage from this one, just nonchalant curiosity!]

Hey, I think I’ve mysteriously arrived from an alternate universe or dimension just now.

Please reply if you know anything about it. I've never done this before.

Also, if there are any helpful fairies or big brother/sister types here, I really want someone to show me around! Establishing the setting is an important part of any story! A very important part! A map printed inside of a dust cover at the beginning (or even worse, the very end) never does the locations justice as much as following a character through them does!

Speaking of which, getting to know the characters is even more important - we could make it a group event!

[reads that message several times, curious, before she responds, also through text] Do you think this is a book?

Do people disappear into books in your world?

Certainly not that I've ever heard of.

Do you know how you came to be here?

[Bows courteously, with a bright and amused smile]

I'm not sure if you could call me a 'helpful sister type' - really what this town needs is a 'wise guide type'. But I'd be happy to show you around! I'm Fuu Hououji, and it's a pleasure to meet you.

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-08-02 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
No, I'm afraid I'm not from here. I'm a 'new resident', summoned here like you. [Well, the jury is still out on the whole 'I signed up for this' thing the Sheriff told her about.]

However, I can still show you around, if you like. No caves or castles, but there is a forest from which a mysterious restaurant appeared. Actually, mysteriously appearing and disappearing buildings are something of a speciality around here.

All these and many more peculiar sites to be seen in Luministi...
[And dangers too. Let's not forget that.]

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-08-02 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I wonder... ['Mysterious outsiders banding together to become the world's heroes', ne? If only he knew how something like that really went.]

Well, the restaurant is still there, but I'm pretty sure that the staff are relatively normal. [Minus the one who poisoned them.]

How about I meet you in person then, Mister Yumasaki? [Oh, but a Japanese-sounding name feels so wonderful to pronounce.] Can you make your way to the north-west corner of the town square by bike?

[ooc: Would you like to move this meeting to a log, or keep it in here?]

If every world came with a guide, my life would be so much easier.

[Narrows his eyes a bit]

You don't seem too bothered by it.

[identity profile] alwaysanarcher.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
... Uh, this place isn't a video game. I think you'll find that out pretty quickly.

[identity profile] alwaysanarcher.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Remind me to introduce you to Bart someday, if we ever get out of here. I have a feeling you two'd get along well. Or destroy the world together. Whichever comes first.

Wait a sec... you've never traveled between dimensions? I have to say, you're holding up better than I did.

[identity profile] alwaysanarcher.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
[it takes Cissie a while to respond.]

That's... one way to look at it.

So who would I be in your new world?
bit_impossible: (Doctor-Slightly suggestive look)

[personal profile] bit_impossible 2010-08-03 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
Fairy types? Would you settle for an alien instead? Well, if we want to get really technically, the whole lot of us are aliens.

And might I say you're taking this incredibly well? Because you are. Some people have complained to high heaven and back about being stuck here and yet you're taking it all in stride! Well done. [smiles]
bit_impossible: (Doctor-Yeah about that...)

[personal profile] bit_impossible 2010-08-03 08:01 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I wouldn't expect you were an alien before. Not many people are, and humans especially think that they're not--even when they're visiting other planets! I'd know; I've been travelling with them long enough to know. Well, not any longer since I'm not taking on any companions at the mo', but in the past, I mean.

You do seem to have a thing about fairies, don't you? Probably would get along with Barrie, I'm betting. Head stuck in the clouds all the time, that one.
bit_impossible: (Doctor-Alright?)

[personal profile] bit_impossible 2010-08-06 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I used to, but not any more. That ship has sailed, so to speak. But speaking of ships...mine didn't seem to come here with me. Can't find her anywhere.

[just...nods at all that] Ohhh, I see. Well! Barrie is actually J.M. Barrie, the creator of Peter Pan--well, that's what he's most famously known for writing and creating. He's done plenty of other things as well, but Peter Pan's the first thing that pops to people's minds, normally.
