Volume 1 [text post]
[No violence or rage from this one, just nonchalant curiosity!]
Hey, I think I’ve mysteriously arrived from an alternate universe or dimension just now.
Please reply if you know anything about it. I've never done this before.
Also, if there are any helpful fairies or big brother/sister types here, I really want someone to show me around! Establishing the setting is an important part of any story! A very important part! A map printed inside of a dust cover at the beginning (or even worse, the very end) never does the locations justice as much as following a character through them does!
Speaking of which, getting to know the characters is even more important - we could make it a group event!

Why? Does that happen here?

Do you know how you came to be here?

How I got here, let's see... I was waiting for some friends of mine to finish running an errand, and all of a sudden, poof! Except it wasn't really a poof, it was more like a flash of light! Kind of like in a Magical Girl series where the heroines enter a transformation sequence or in a sci-fi series where the writers didn't want to explain the specifics of space travel or waste time on a transition sequence so all we get to see is a spaceship disappearing in a burst of light and a blur.
If I had to guess, I'd say that this world or universe is doomed but in a last-ditch effort a powerful wizard or force of nature (or both) decided to reach out into alternate dimensions to summon a diverse cast of unlikely heroes! Or maybe this is just a classic fish-out-of-water story where the protagonists are just plain stuck in an unfamiliar place with no rhyme or reason, just for the sake of exploring how people adapt to especially unusual situations. I also wouldn't dismiss the idea that this is all a dream, but that plot is way overused as it is.
I always knew this kind of thing would happen some day!

I'm not sure if you could call me a 'helpful sister type' - really what this town needs is a 'wise guide type'. But I'd be happy to show you around! I'm Fuu Hououji, and it's a pleasure to meet you.
no subject
A wise guide would be useful! There might be one around and we just haven't realized it yet, though! Are there any mountains or caves or mysterious forests around? A tower or castle might be a good place to look for one too, but we might end up running into a shy princess there instead. A win-win situation!
My name's Walker Yumasaki! I have all the time in the world to be shown around right now.
That reminds me - are you actually from around here?
no subject
However, I can still show you around, if you like. No caves or castles, but there is a forest from which a mysterious restaurant appeared. Actually, mysteriously appearing and disappearing buildings are something of a speciality around here.
All these and many more peculiar sites to be seen in Luministi...
[And dangers too. Let's not forget that.]
no subject
Is the magical forest restaurant still there? We should visit! I bet it's staffed by forest spirits or an elite group of mystical forest chefs! Or both!
I knew there had to be more to this place than the map and recording said!
no subject
Well, the restaurant is still there, but I'm pretty sure that the staff are relatively normal. [Minus the one who poisoned them.]
How about I meet you in person then, Mister Yumasaki? [Oh, but a Japanese-sounding name feels so wonderful to pronounce.] Can you make your way to the north-west corner of the town square by bike?
[ooc: Would you like to move this meeting to a log, or keep it in here?]
no subject
If we could do that, that would be great! Luministi doesn't seem very big, so I can probably figure out where to go. I'm usually the one who does this kind of stuff but there's nothing wrong with the occasional role-reversal!
((We could log it! I like logs! Should I make it?))

[Narrows his eyes a bit]
You don't seem too bothered by it.
[switching to video to match!]
Why would I be bothered by anything? This is exciting!

Or destroy the world together. Whichever comes first.Wait a sec... you've never traveled between dimensions? I have to say, you're holding up better than I did.
no subject
Like I said, this is the first time ever! Unless it's happened before and the universes were just so similar that I didn't even realize it, I'm always open to that kind of possibility. But since I wouldn't have known the difference anyway, we'll say that this is the very first time!
The switch didn't do any harm that I know of - actually, it was kind of anticlimactic. Maybe if it had been more dramatic I would have responded more strongly to it, but maybe not. Oh well.
no subject
That's... one way to look at it.
So who would I be in your new world?
no subject
no subject
And might I say you're taking this incredibly well? Because you are. Some people have complained to high heaven and back about being stuck here and yet you're taking it all in stride! Well done. [smiles]
no subject
In theory, an alien could also be a helpful fairy type, especially with that technicality! And a helpful fairy doesn't really have to be a fairy, although they get extra points toward the category if they look the part.
You can say whatever you want! I don't like to get upset so I don't do it.
no subject
You do seem to have a thing about fairies, don't you? Probably would get along with Barrie, I'm betting. Head stuck in the clouds all the time, that one.
no subject
Oh, but I like all kinds of people! It's always been a goal of mine to have a big sis or a helpful fairy, and in the best case either my own harem or an adorable daughter, but I also like magical girls and mysterious chefs and angels and tough-but-caring big brother types and catgirls and fearless leaders and headless motorcyclists...
Is Barrie someone who lives here?
no subject
[just...nods at all that] Ohhh, I see. Well! Barrie is actually J.M. Barrie, the creator of Peter Pan--well, that's what he's most famously known for writing and creating. He's done plenty of other things as well, but Peter Pan's the first thing that pops to people's minds, normally.
