θ-10 Come one, come all!

[As soon as the sun as set, Doctor John Smith is up in a grassy area somewhere off near the malt shop, with a peculiar setup before him. But...those who know a thing or two about pyrotechnics will know exactly what he's about to do.]

[He turns his CAT on, a big, broad and excited grin on his face]

Hellooooooooooooo Luministi!!! It's that time of year again, and as always, the Mayor has asked me to kick off the celebration with a little display. [there's a mischievous twinkle in her eye] Not even Soph knows what I've got planned this year, so! I think it's about time I show you!

[He shuts the CAT off, and there is nothing for a few moments...

...but then, there's a high-pitched whine followed by an explosion of colour! One after another, fireworks shoot up into the air, and the good doc has not skimped on them. There are ones that change colors, shoot up into different formations, some that even transform from one shape to another.

The display will go on for a good hour, but while those are going on, the festivities have officially started! Parties in the town square with food, game, and drinking booths will go on. The rides are up in full force. There's even dancing going on in the southern shopping plaza area as well as the botanical gardens. Everything the mayor mentioned and more is there for everyone to partake in.]

[Although Kon's parents are manning the booth over in the botanical gardens, Kon thought it'd be a pretty good idea if the Talon brewed coffee for some of the other booths too.

He's in the town square, eagerly passing out goodies to those who want some---though if he gets the chance, he's definitely sneaking out. Kon really doesn't want to work here longer than he has to.]

this will be so weird not using honorifics. Also, let's go with the name of Leaf for this event XD

Leaf! [He laughs, trying so hard to wipe that goofy grin off his face. It's a relief to see someone who isn't a customer, but he can't help offering her his platter of cookies anyhow.] Yeah, unfortunately.

It's alright. I'm getting more confident with the dogs at work though. But I still like working with the few birds we have.

Sure, I wouldn't mind. I haven't see much of the festival yet myself and they say that company's better than doing this alone. [Mostly because she's been derping at whatever clown-games there are set up.]

[Croix makes his way over... holding a little stuffed bear in one hand that he managed to win at one of the game stations for, you know, whichever girl he ended up bringing to this festival that, coincidentally, isn't here right now.]

Still working? I thought you might be done by now.

I should be done in a couple of minutes, tops. [Huh, that bear's kinda cute. Kon gestures towards it before he grabs a couple of cookies for them.]

Looks like you and your dates're having fun.

That's good, then. It wouldn't be right if you had to miss out on everything.

Dates? [He then looks down at the bear... and sighs a bit, before turning his attention back to Kon. He smiles, a little embarrassed.]

You know, I only brought Tiffany. [Implying that the others have just... found him here.]

Jeez, and I'm supposed to think you finding Madeline and Tori along the way was just "bad karma?" [He's half-teasing, half-grumping.] At this rate, you could take freaking Mr. Washington as your date and no one'd bat an eye.

You know he's old enough to be my dad, right?

Yeah, yeah, I know. Still doesn't make your love life any less enviable. [At least Kon's man enough to admit he's jealous... and eat a couple of cookies while he's at it.]

[He notices that subject change, man... but because he's still bitter over that love life, he'll go ahead and roll with the new topic.]

Mom and Dad'll just assume it was Vriska again. [Come to think of it, where did she wander off to?] I'm supposed to make sure she doesn't get too out of hand anyways.

Oh, so she is here tonight... Has she taken anything yet?

Probably. I'll know exactly what whenever Mr. Tennyson whines about it again...

[He really shouldn't be used to this by now, but Kon's given up on reforming her.]

Well, let me know if you need any help with her. I can technically work tonight, or at least call someone else in. [... small sigh.] Not that it would get her to learn her lesson at all - it hasn't yet...

I don't think anything short of leaving town would help. [He'd seriously consider it, but as it is, Luministi's so awesome that he wouldn't THINK about leaving town himself.]
