θ-2

[sitting up in the slowly turning ferris wheel, a huge bag of candy floss at his feet, the Doctor is just chilling and contemplating while the nightly fireworks show has begun. he keeps waiting for the other shoe to drop, for something terrible to happen.

nearly an entire week and it's been utterly peaceful. what is this madness?

at least in the ferris wheel, he can survey the town from a better vantage point than he would else where. with everything that has gone on recently, one would think a break would be a welcome thing, but no, not for him. the activity keeps him busy and distracted from the fact that he's still trapped with no true idea of how to get out.

when the ferris wheel descends, will anyone join him in the empty seat beside him? or perhaps get on in another one of the empty cars going around? his CAT is off unless someone calls him with it.]

[She's on the edge of her seat!]

Oh, hardly! A 'normal' guess would be that you saw the Mayor, but this place is very abnormal.

Do tell!

[Fuu nods absently to the Doctor's rhetorical question, her eyes distant as she tries to imagine the scene.]

[Musingly] That's weird that they would keep filming equipment in his room. It's not like he's broadcast that many messages, so you'd think it'd be just clutter - all the cords and stuff.

Then how did Miss Osculia react? Did she try to rush you out of the room? Was she upset?

[Grins and shrugs] Well, that's true, but he's the Mayor. Surely they could keep it somewhere other than his office when they aren't using it.

[But maybe that's just her. Tidiness is important, especially for people who have an impression to make. ...Not that the Mayor is accepting people into his office, so making a good impression is probably a moot point.]

[Fuu laughs at well at that, just imagining it.]
That's too bad! If you want to try a softer approach next time, I think she might like creme-filled chocolates.

Oh, but you did say that was the first time. You tried going back?

[lol, does the Doctor ever go home to sleep?]

[Edge-of-her-seat interest again!]

You would think that would be a good time, ne? Must have been some work for her to be engrossed in it that late.
So, she didn't notice you, and then what? Did you sneak into the Mayor's office again?

[A very quiet neighbour, if he's never home...]

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-07-29 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
[chuckles] She didn't 'give in', ne? Did she not appreciate the company into the late morning hours?

So you didn't burst in again...? [She's rather of two minds about that. On one hand, she's rather glad that he hadn't. But on the other, it'd be much more exciting if he had. Either way, poor Miss Osculia.]

Ah, how did you unlock the door that first time anyways? Was it some sort of magical skill or talent? A lock-pick of the future? [-Or whatever else a 'quick fiddle with the lock' could mean.]

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-07-29 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[Fuu laughs a little and nods. That is very true.]

[And to that answer, she sighs and smiles at the Doctor.]
Is that so? Well, I'm sure it would seem so to me as well then. The... ways of the future may well appear as magic to those of the past. It reminds me of the country where they have the means to transfer mental power into their machines. Looks like magic, but it's technology.

[Soft smile] But you really are something, Doctor. Amazingly clever and mysterious! But if I may say so... I understand a natural tendency to keep things 'close to the chest'. I've been doing it myself. But I hope that it won't come between us being able to work together to leave this town. We are sharing a unique experience, and it is very lonely and difficult if you have no one to work though the trials with.
[Suddenly blushes and glances away.]...Sorry, if that sounded odd. I- just speak from experience.

[Looking down she sighs a little. They are almost at the end of the circuit already! A shame it seemed to go so fast, but she'd seen the fireworks and had a very useful conversation.]

[Taking his offered hand she gives him a smile in return. He's right, of course.]

I think I understand. A little, at least. I am still a child, after all!

[But that doesn't stop her from worrying about someone who seems to have a burden a little like her own. Yet she regrets that her words had brought out that stern expression upon his face.]

[Still holding his hand, she turns it into a handshake. (A bit more English, right?)] Thank you for the chat, Doctor. And I'll do my best to keep your advice in mind.
[But sometimes, the details were just so engrossing!]

[ooc: and it just so happens I have a favour to ask whereby the Doctor would have the opportunity to show off XD]
