Variations brillantes in B flat major

[text message; filtered to the Doctors]

Theta Sigma Alpha and Theta Sigma Beta:

There are plans afoot to contain the problem, and apparently sending the topiary attackers back to the greenhouse is among them. I've offered my help in turning the glass of the greenhouse into a semi-solid energy field, which oughtn't be particularly difficult for me, except, of course, that I don't have the supplies for it. I didn't have them in my pockets when I got here. A lack of forward thinking, I know.

I also know that you are tediously unable to have pockets without stuffing them to the brim with miscellany. If you've anything to contribute, please do, difficult as you may find it.

Hoping for competence despite precedence,

B

[over the CAT in a video message]

Is that right? I love a good plan! Have a few myself, in fact.

But shame on you for not thinking forwardly, Brax. Better than backwardly or sidewardly, or any other -wardly for that matter.

So! [grins cheekily] Theta Beta, just what do you have on you? [not that he doesn't already know or have an idea]

Oi, I think you mean Theta Alpha.

[still in video because really, who doesn't love seeing his face?]

Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing you try, Brax! You've certainly got your pick of trees around here.

[quickly adds as an aside to Nine:] And I'm Alpha because I was here first, I'm older and have better hair than you.

[Nine doesn't!]

I've got some my sonic screwdriver, some explosives, and a banana, among other things. Oh, and a vial of anti-plastic. Don't ask.

[to Ten] I ought to be Alpha cause you're a regeneration after me, I'm younger, and my hair's not sticking out all over the place. [a pause] Least, it doesn't feel that way. [someone still has yet to actually peek in a mirror >_>]

bit_impossible: (Doctor-Furrowed Eyebrow What?)

[personal profile] bit_impossible 2010-07-02 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
[he just gapes at that exchange for a moment] What?! I helped you out before! Gave you that one device, right? And explosives didn't work the first time around and I highly doubt they will again.

If it's a static electricity you want to generate, I just might have a few things that'll help.

[but now he also knows approximately when you're from, Nine, and to prove he's not below childish tactics, he resists pointing out that they could always blow up a bunch of balloons and use his former self's head to generate the energy they needed.]

[identity profile] charmandsmiles.livejournal.com 2010-07-02 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
[Nine switches to video, just so Ten can see how smug he is at getting Brax!praise] Don't mention it. And explosives might not work, but the materials they're made of might help. 51st century, y'know. Much better than 32nd.

And what sort of things have you got, Doctor? [he looks a bit dubious that you'll have anything more useful]
bit_impossible: (Doctor-Oh come off it)

[personal profile] bit_impossible 2010-07-02 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
[Ten sighs, rolling his eyes for the pair of them to see] Oh yes, because explosives plus a glass greenhouse makes for a wonderful combination! Never mind they are just the components.

And any century is better than the 32nd. ...Or is that the 14th? Always difficult to remember. As for what I have on me, you'll just have to find out at the greenhouse. Or wait until you regenerate. Whichever one happens first really, especially at the rate you're going...

[he grins, shutting off the video feed and makes his way to the greenhouse. he's actually not too far since he's been inspecting the bare pedestals in other parts of the botanical gardens]

[identity profile] charmandsmiles.livejournal.com 2010-07-02 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
[scowls, and then to Brax, since Ten swanned off] I'm not planning on regenerating ever, if I can help it. Especially not if it means I've got to turn into him.

[he shuts off his own CAT then, running to the greenhouse to find them]

[a few minutes later, he strolls in to the greenhouse, whistling to himself as he heads over to Brax. his glasses are already on and hands tucked into his pockets fingering a couple devices he just might be able to use.]

So! Brax... [pauses for a second, drawing out the sound of the 'x'] Braxy Braxiatel, what have you done so far, hmm? What parts do you need?

are we changing the order now? :x

[identity profile] charmandsmiles.livejournal.com 2010-07-04 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[and Nine arrives a moment later, emptying out his pockets for Brax. There is indeed a screwdriver, a banana, and various explosives, as well as various bits of other 51st century technology.] No need for longing now.

Ever been to the weapons factories at Villengard? There's a banana grove there now.
bit_impossible: (Doctor-Eye roll)

Errr, dunno? >.>;

[personal profile] bit_impossible 2010-07-06 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
[and speaking of bananas, he'll be stealing that banana from you, Nine!]

Yes, yes, we all know about the banana grove at Villengard. And I recommend the holly tree. They make the best wands, so why not use it for the energy helix? Could even use one of these. [takes out a couple spare devices he's been holding on to for a rainy day and hands them over to Brax.] Figure these might help. Your basic biodamper, miniature matter transmitter that could do with a tune-up, things of that nature.

[stands there for a moment, glances at his previous self, then back at Brax]

...Is that it?

Nine/Brax/Ten?

[identity profile] charmandsmiles.livejournal.com 2010-07-07 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[Nine steals his banana back from Ten :|] Think it's enough to get the job done. Need any help with the programming, Brax?
bit_impossible: (Doctor-Smug Grin)

Sounds good! :Db

[personal profile] bit_impossible 2010-07-07 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[and he steals the banana right back, licking it this time. want it back now, Nine?]

Well, we are pretty resourceful, aren't we? [smiles smugly, clapping Nine on the back] Needs must and all.

[identity profile] charmandsmiles.livejournal.com 2010-07-07 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[mortified] You licked my banana. Licked it!
bit_impossible: (Doctor-Just that awesome)

[personal profile] bit_impossible 2010-07-07 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
And now--[peels it open]--I'm biting it. [and he does so!] Don't worry, I'll get you a new one. [takes another bite before turning his attentions to the odd pattern Brax has set everything up in]

[identity profile] charmandsmiles.livejournal.com 2010-07-08 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
[have an Oncoming Glare, Ten] You owe me two, that banana was important. And what d'you mean, "terrible supplies?" This is top-notch stuff!
bit_impossible: (Doctor-Is attentive)

[personal profile] bit_impossible 2010-07-08 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
A banana is a banana, until it's suddenly a peel. [which it is now, and he tosses that over his shoulder and into a conveniently placed bin. and with the banana gone, he's all business.]

Right, I believe if we combine these two[grabs two of the devices], take apart the components from the activator, and use some of the spare, yet sophisticated, 51st century wiring, we could be in business.

--Unless you had some other way of doing it...?

[identity profile] charmandsmiles.livejournal.com 2010-07-08 04:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[he will be taking those devices from you now, Ten. That's what you get for eating his banana. :|] I'll take things apart, and you can fuse the wires together with your sonic screwdriver.
bit_impossible: (Doctor-Lecture)

[personal profile] bit_impossible 2010-07-09 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
Well, hurry it up then. We haven't got all day. Chop, chop! [claps his hands impatiently]

[ooc comment of appreciation!]
