It's been a while, I know, and hopefully we won't need to fight, but- would you be interested in sparring? I feel the need to let off some steam.

[well, not everyone can look fantastic when they're trying to dry off.]

[Hawk grins, lifting his chin.] You sure you want to admit something like that?

I don't mind. Last time I admitted to something like that, it saved the entire town from me.

[He'd really like to forget about those zombies, considering he didn't expect to be the FINAL BOSS FIGHT, but he figures everyone'll know about it eventually.]

Hah? [Hawk frowns, hands curling and uncurling.] You mean… when the zombies were around…

Yeah. [He frowns, assuming a defensive stance again.] Guess who was the last one to get infected?

Ah. [Hawk grimaces, teeth showing for a moment, and assumes a fighting stance again.] So the others had to fight you.

Yeah. I might've gotten mad at you knowing my weakness before, but... if it means you can stop me when [he no longer believes it's an "if"] I go crazy, then I'm okay with that.

All right. I hope it won't come to that, though.

Ready to go again?

Ready when you are. [He grins, stepping forward.]

All right, then! [He swishes one hand forward, calling another cascade of water, and pushes himself forward, aiming to hit Kon with the other.]

[That's more of a challenge! Kon's distracted by the water, so he steps to the side to avoid the incoming onslaught.

He again holds out his arm to protect him; it's more instinctive than an outright protective measure.]

[Hawk connects, but on Kon's arm so it doesn't have as much force behind it as he'd intended. He brings his other hand forward, aiming for Kon's midsection.]

[That second attack connects too! Kon's knocked back, more by the force of the attack than any physical pain.

He then flies forward, aiming for Hawk's arms.]

[Hawk reacts a little slower than he should, pushing himself back and twisting to try to keep his arms out of Kon's reach.]

[Kon misses Hawk's arms by mere inches, instead flying straight out the gazebo door and flailing around in mid-air before he turns back and attempts to tackle Hawk again.

He's going easy, so it won't actually push Hawk to the ground if he's successful.]

[Hawk's distracted enough by trying not to laugh at the sight of Kon that he doesn't get out of the way in time, feet sliding back a little with the impact. He grins, teeth flashing.]

Graceful! Don't tell me you knock all the ladies over like that.

[He grins widely just before he lets go of Hawk.]

All the time, man. Haven't you ever heard of the "crash-into" hello? Girls dig the clumsy awkward meeting; it's a story to remember! [He's joking, for the most part - Kon's not clumsy enough to pull that off.]

Oh, right! I know that one. Haven't used it so much for meeting girls, though.

Shame. It might've worked!

[That does remind him:] Speaking of girls... I didn't know you and Fuu were dating. Or was that the town's weird magic at work?

[he grins] Haha… well, then, I'll have to try it out! […well, maybe not quite for that purpose.]

I… [his face falls, and his gaze goes off to one side] …yeah. Something like that.

[Uh-oh. Kon knows that look all too well.] ... She doesn't know, does she?

…we haven't talked about it since, but… [he rubs the back of his neck.] …I told her.

[Judging by the awkward air around them...] And what'd she say after that?

… She said she liked me too. [bittersweet smile]

That's great! Then what do you have to worry about? Even if this place's weird, you shouldn't let it stop you from getting some.

… She has someone waiting for her back- [he stops, considers, then shakes his head- it's much of a muchness, however he puts it] -back where she's from. And that's… [he laughs shakily] not really what I want, anyway.

Oh. [That complicates things. Kind of.]

... Well, you're not planning on going back to Japan with her, right? Maybe it could be like a summer or fall fling.

… Well… no, I'm not. [he has responsibilities he should return to, and Fuu's world… he's no idea how well he'd managed there. Parting will hurt, but… he doesn't think he can justify leaving Jessica and the Guild behind.]

…mm. Maybe. […he'd need to talk to her first, and for the time being, thinking about it is still more awkward than not.]

[Kon doesn't exactly have experience with this, but Fuu and Hawk're his friends, and they should be happy too!] You never know until you ask, man.

So try? If only for me so that someone around here has a decent love life?

[he reaches out for Kon's shoulder, smiling.] I'm sure you'll find someone. You don't seem like someone who'd be left out to dry, whether it's here or back home. [Back home seems as though it'd be better, anyway.]

Well… I suppose it can't do any harm. [No more than's already been done, and… well, he does feel a little more encouraged about the situation now. Maybe not enough to think that anything will come of it, but enough to talk.] Thanks, Kon.

You'd think. [He smiles wryly before looking down at Hawk's hand. It's not for lack of trying that he's single... and really, he doesn't hate being single, but a girlfriend wouldn't hurt.] I'll worry about myself after you two get this sorted out.

It's no problem. ... Do you wanna grab some food? I don't know about you, but I'm starving.

[…oh no now he really has to be responsible about this… '-' not that he wasn't going to try anyway, but. He nods, hand falling to his side.] Alright.

Sounds good to me. Where d'you want to go?
