[Croix was already at the Observation Deck when the fire pit appeared. ... Thanks for that. He probably would have had a slightly more comical reaction if he wasn't still a liiiittle on the angry side - as it was, he simply twitched, glared at it, and then looked around for any other changes in the room. And that scribbled message on the wall? Was definitely a change. Since then, he'd tried to make his way out, suspicious about what staying there could mean. No escape, huh? It figured.

So, he's been here. Pretty much just waiting for everyone else to show up. He's standing, arms crossed, leaning on his shoulder against the glass, and just looking out at the stars. Every once in a while, he glances back at that message on the wall.]

I think it's a safe guess that more trouble's on the way.

[And he is not looking forward to whatever is coming up next...]

It didn't feel like it to me. I take my eyes off her for five minutes and... [The words get lost in his throat.

He awkwardly swallows that breath before he rubs his eye.] ... if I hadn't told her I was Superboy, she would've still been alive today.

If you hadn't told her you were Superboy, she wouldn't have had the story that could make her dream come true. If Cadmus hadn't been in the way...

[But he lets that hang, and shakes his head.]

I'm sorry. I know it's not my place to say anything. I don't know the situation. But for what it's worth, I don't think you should hold yourself more responsible than the ones who actually decided to silence her.

[Right. Cadmus killed her; he was just... someone who didn't know she'd died until it was too late.] You're just trying to make me feel better. I can't hate you for that.

[He smiles faintly, more to keep his own spirits up than anything.] I can't really forget Tana, but I know I've gotta live for her now.

Ah, it wouldn't necessarily do much to kidnap someone who wasn't royal, either! [he grins, tucking his hands in his sash] It took a bit of talking to convince her to take us, but she agreed in the end! Which was very good of her, I don't think she'd carried quite as much weight before.

Nobody ever said it was something important. [ He shrugs. ] You ask a lot of question, you know that?

And I don't think there's much point in questioning something a kid does.

[He matches Kon’s smile with one of his own.] Yeah. You’re right.

[He crosses his arms, wondering if a change in subject would help:] So, what was that about an apartment building?

[He chuckles.] That’s true. [And he smiles.] How many of you were there? And just how big was this dragon?

That... [He chuckles.] So after Tana died, I got kind of depressed, right? So I moved out of student housing and moved into my own apartment.

All before I was even in high school, to make it even weirder. [There's a small pause, before he admits:] ... As it turns out, it's illegal for a 14 year old kid to be in charge of that much property, so I got sent home.

Ah, there's six of us total… Three of us went the first time, though. [He considers the area, glancing around, and turns to Croix again, holding up a hand.] Hold on… [taking four full steps back, and a fifth shorter one] She's about this long, and about this wide with her wings shut. [He holds his hands out, indicating not quite twice his own width.] She's still young, though.

That's one way of doing things. [ Nero smirks. Okay, you've got his attention. ] Dunno though, I've never been one for karaoke. Got any other ideas for what we could do with a chainsaw and tub of water?

[ Story of his life, man. Why do big bads never wanna show their faces until the end anyway? ] Seems like our host needs an etiquette lesson, I'll be sure to get right on that when I find him. There's just no excuse for rudeness, y'know?

[ As for that second part: ] I was thinking more along the lines of the footsteps, but, come to mention it, yeah. That works just as well.

Haha… maybe I'm just a little more suspicious of so many footsteps leading the same way. [he grins, and glances at the sign for a moment] It's charming, isn't it?

But if this place is just... [she gestures at the writing on the wall] Perhaps the snow would be better.

[the statement sounds desperate even to her, though. she rubs her hands together in their mittens]

I'm sorry. [Leaf just offers him a bit of a strained smile, having already been subjected the whole 'what did you do' thing.

Her natu's awake and perched on a shoulder, though it appears as if it's sleeping, given it looks like a ball of feathers.] Try not to ask the question on the wall, please.

They might be waiting for the gate crashers to get into position first. [Dave has been here from the start. Well, since his troll pal came along.]

[He's pretty quiet when he approaches. Which isn't unusual when Dave's in time to do my role mode. He gestures to the whole of the deck.]

Just what trouble does this place usually get?

Oh. So Arceus is like your God. So Naty isn't a robot then!

[He eagerly leans in to look at the pokedex screen, smiling.] Ah! That's so cool! Do you let them fight people too?

[He knows that tone, and he just frowns at her.] Miss Sophie...

[Meanwhile dear Goddess why is it colder in here?! He pulls his coat a little tighter.]

Y-You know, I don't feel any wind in here, but is it... colder?

So she'll be even bigger? Wow. The only dragons I know are hostile. Monsters that attack humans if they're too far away from the cities.

[Okay, that makes him laugh a bit.] They sent you home? Wow. It... must be a world difference. I moved to Pastalia to join the Grand Bell Army when I was twelve. I mean, I was the youngest recruit they ever had, but they still let me own my own house once I had enough money.

[Croix recognizes Dave from over the CAT network, even though he was a bit too... um... angry to properly respond at the time. So while Croix's a little on his guard because he doesn't know this kid, he's pretty sure he's not a threat. So that helps.]

You mean just this room? Nothing specific. This whole town, though... I don't even know where to begin to explain the trouble.

Anyway, since we're all supposed to be here on the observation deck... I'm pretty sure there's more to this than just keeping us out of the snow.

Yeah, the whole town. Just explain what sticks out. [Dave folds his arms over his chest, since his pants lack pockets. He looks at the message left for all of them and snorts.]

Yeah. Or there wouldn't be some writing on the wall like some, I know what you did last summer sort of deal.

Mazes. Zombies. Tampering with memories. [He sighs.] The fact that we can't get home until we find the ones behind this whole thing in the first place.

Last summer? [Sorry, reference lost on this dude.]
