[For days, the zombie invasion of the Luministi town and spacestation has gone on, but through various means, there have been less and less zombies appearing by the day. And now, only a few remain, stubbornly shambling after their prey--

--or rather they were. With a bright, blinding flash of light, their bodies instantly change. No longer are they dead and decaying, but are that of full-fledged living beings with absolutely no desire for brains or flesh of the living. In fact, while they take a moment to blink and look around to see where they are, these townspeople merely shrug and continue on with their business like they did months ago. For them, it's back to their normal routine, and if asked, they won't even remember being a zombie. No one does. Even those who were killed during the fighting are back, right as rain.

But something else has changed.

Something big, yet the sound was so soft and heard by none. A door has been opened...

And from the surprise left in the town square, it seems other metaphorical doors have been opened as well, a fact that the sender of a text message to all of the CATs, is very well aware of:]

Plot Details: Just Breathe

Welcome to Luministi's Fourth Wall event! If you have never participated in 4th wall with us before, the portion above the cut there is an IC continuation of the story that has been in the making for the past two seasons (a summary of which can be read here if you are curious, but it's not required reading!) Unlike past events, the town is not only fully populated with people who will just talk about mundane things about Luministi, but the pathway to the spacestation via the Mayor's House has been opened. How long that will remain open is anyone's guess, but for now, take advantage of it!

Also, visitors have a choice of physically appearing in the town square or communicating from their own world via the CAT.

Now, for those of you new to the game, the CATs, or Communications Audiovisual Transmitters, are personalized communication devices about the size of your palm, and for this day only, visiting characters will have this device. They'll have found it randomly on their person with no idea how it even got there. From a video broadcast standpoint, you'll be able to see the the immediate surroundings of the person you're talking to. More information about the CATs can be found on the FAQ page, which also has some handy tips about how the game is run and other questions about the game that aren't answered elsewhere in the mod journal. But if you don't see your question answered anywhere, please don't be afraid to ask!

In-game time, this event lasts a day, but you can tag for however long you want!

If visiting players do app into the game they will be able to remember visiting the town (or viewing it in a video feed), as well as everyone they met, the moment they show up in the town of Luministi for real. Yeah for ready-made CR, right?

And for current players, consider this a plot break! I'll have the game's next proper plot update for you guys tomorrow, so enjoy the breather while you can!

This event is the last one the game will hold, unfortunately, as Luminsti is in its final season. All of the storylines and mysteries introduced back in June 2010 when the game first opened will be brought to a close, and how it all does will be up to everyone involved. There are choices to be made and tasks that need to be accomplished--but only if you do it. Not doing something also will result in something, but whether it's for better or worse, well... You'll just have to come along for the ride and see, won't you?

I have no idea who that is, but I enjoy their namesake.

Uh...okay. [Doc isn't quite sure what to make of that answer] So who are you? [and, unable to help sounding a bit excited:] Are you from Japan, too?

How did you even know that? Nobody ever guesses that!

I'm Doc! And Fuu's here, so this ship came from Japan, right? Where in Japan are you from? Oh, hey, do you have a cat?

Ah, yes, a pleasure to meet you Doc. That's... Quite an interesting array of questions.

One: No, I believe that only three of us are Japanese: Myself, Fuu, and a third person who I've only heard about.

Two: Nagoya.

Three: I like cats, but I don't have one. What kind of question is that, anyway?

[docinawall]

Yeah, nice to meet you, Ichijou. But...really? [he sighs, disappointed] Oh well. Where's everybody else from?

[he gives him a look like the answer to that question should be obvious] Because Japan has the best cats. You know, they do stuff like try to fit in boxes that are the wrong size. I've seen the videos! Everybody knows about about that.

[manicurious]

Huh? Cats from other places don't do that sort of thing? I was certain that that was a general cat thing, not exclusively a Japanese cat thing...

There are people from all sorts of places here: Scotland, England, America, some places I've never even heard of like "Alternia..."

[docinawall]

Really? I thought they did, but maybe they weren't as great. I mean, I've never actually had a cat? I had a baby alien once, but that wasn't really the same thing. But if I ever get a cat, I want it to be from Japan!

Wow, that's a lot of people from Earth! So where is the ship going?

[manicurious]

Japanese pet owners probably just have cameras more readily available than others. There's hardly an inch in Japan where nothing is being recorded by someone, you know.

I would say that a baby alien is absolutely nothing like a cat, unless it was an alien cat. And if you get technical with it, right now we're all aliens - at least, that's how I've accidentally creeped out some new people. I think about half of us are from Earth, but I'd have to consult my diary for more detailed statistics - I let someone else borrow it. It's outdated by this point anyway.

Hmm, now that you mention it, I don't think that this space station is actually going anywhere. There are little ships that travel to and from it, but I think Luministi just stays put. At least, the view from the windows seems to stay the same. I'd offer to take you to look at it, but...

You've got a wall on you.

[docinawall]

[Doc blinks at him] You know, I never thought about that! I bet you're right.

Nah, it was more of a half-human, half-alien, so it was just small and sort of teal and made noises like blargh and honk. Oh, but it was a lot like a cat when it got hungry! You should have seen how quick it drank blood if you exposed some skin. [under his helmet, he's smiling at the memory] It was cute like a cat, too.

Wait. [he gives him a look] We're not the aliens! The ones that aren't human are the aliens. Duh.

Oh, you could just drag me there!

[manicurious]

I don't think that cats generally drink blood, though it would be kind of neat if they did...

[That last remark activates that hideous laugh that we all know and love.]

You think I could pull you around!? That's completely absurd! I could get a chisel out of my house and try to break you out of there, or perhaps I could call Agent Washington to try to break it with some explosives, but that probably wouldn't end well. But there's no way in hell I could pull that wall around!

[docinawall]

Uh...yeah, I don't know, I think I like cats better that crawl in boxes and make funny noises and attack things that move but aren't even alive.

[he stares at that] Wait. Wash is here!?

[manicurious]

Hn, you're right, there are already enough hazards to walking around outside at night without having to worry about vampire cats.

[Ichijou seems delighted.]

So you do know each other! I just got out from being trapped in a laboratory with him for a long time. I... Forgot to tell him that the door opened, but he's probably figured it out by now.

[docinawall]

Yeah! Like people with grenades.

A laboratory? [Doc, in contrast, sounds unnerved] What was Wash doing to you in a laboratory?

[manicurious]

What would make you assume that? We just happened to be trapped in there together. Aside from initially scaring me by trying to blow up the door that sealed us in and the resulting enormous mess, he was really quite pleasant.

[docinawall]

[he raises an eyebrow at that question] I thought you said you know Wash.

Wait. [suspicious] What do you mean "pleasant"? Like...pleasant as in he took a break from trying to blow you up?

[manicurious]

If you weren't wearing a helmet that would undoubtedly break my nails, I'd slap you upside the head for those comments.

Agent Washington did NOT try to blow me up at all. Not even a single time.

He did shoot me in the head, but that was ONLY because I told him to. And it was the nicest thing anyone's ever done for me! How many friends do you have who would shoot you right in the face if you told them to, huh?

[docinawall]

[Doc just...stares at him] Yeah, I think you might have a different definition of "friend." Or, um, "nice." That's probably different, too. [he pauses awkwardly, trying to figure out how to handle this situation] Uh. So, I mean, Wash is my friend now? But he wasn't exactly when he was threatening me and kidnapping me and killing people for no reason. [more brightly, he adds:] But differing opinions on friendship is one of the things that makes us human!

So. [a beat] You must've had a really good surgeon!

[manicurious]

[Stubbornly:] H-he must've had a reason! I don't know what kind of reason, but there must've been one!

[-That very last comment causes him to move into a more pleasant demeanor when it sinks in, though. He's sure it's a compliment on his looks.]

Why, thank you! But I didn't have a surgeon at all; my beauty is completely natural. I believe that I must've been cloned since I know that I couldn't survive being partially disemboweled and shot point-blank in the face. That was part of the whole point of the request.

Regardless of whatever happened after that, I'm still just as pretty as I've always been!

[docinawall]

Yeah...I don't know about that. [clearly Ichijou is as crazy as Wash, but Doc isn't sure what pointing that out would do for him, so he's just going to let sleeping dogs lie]

[he blinks at him again] So are you like...one of those AI things? [that would explain the crazy, at least]

[manicurious]

I believe I had just finished mentioning that my looks are totally natural, and the same applies to my intelligence. The "A" in "AI" does stand for "Artificial," doesn't it?

I assure you that I'm really quite human in every way!

[docinawall]

[now Ichijou just sounds like an AI who doesn't know it]

Well, yeah, but... Uh, you do know that when humans die, they don't come back. Right?

[manicurious]

Of course I know that!! What kind of idiot do you think I am!?

That's why I think I must've been cloned or something.
