❧ Just Breathe
[For days, the zombie invasion of the Luministi town and spacestation has gone on, but through various means, there have been less and less zombies appearing by the day. And now, only a few remain, stubbornly shambling after their prey--
--or rather they were. With a bright, blinding flash of light, their bodies instantly change. No longer are they dead and decaying, but are that of full-fledged living beings with absolutely no desire for brains or flesh of the living. In fact, while they take a moment to blink and look around to see where they are, these townspeople merely shrug and continue on with their business like they did months ago. For them, it's back to their normal routine, and if asked, they won't even remember being a zombie. No one does. Even those who were killed during the fighting are back, right as rain.
But something else has changed.
Something big, yet the sound was so soft and heard by none. A door has been opened...
And from the surprise left in the town square, it seems other metaphorical doors have been opened as well, a fact that the sender of a text message to all of the CATs, is very well aware of:]
Enjoy this respite from chaos while you can.
[The moment that text is sent, anyone still injured will be blinded once again--but will find all wounds have been healed.]

- Welcome to Luministi's Fourth Wall event! If you have never participated in 4th wall with us before, the portion above the cut there is an IC continuation of the story that has been in the making for the past two seasons (a summary of which can be read here if you are curious, but it's not required reading!) Unlike past events, the town is not only fully populated with people who will just talk about mundane things about Luministi, but the pathway to the spacestation via the Mayor's House has been opened. How long that will remain open is anyone's guess, but for now, take advantage of it!
Also, visitors have a choice of physically appearing in the town square or communicating from their own world via the CAT.
Now, for those of you new to the game, the CATs, or Communications Audiovisual Transmitters, are personalized communication devices about the size of your palm, and for this day only, visiting characters will have this device. They'll have found it randomly on their person with no idea how it even got there. From a video broadcast standpoint, you'll be able to see the the immediate surroundings of the person you're talking to. More information about the CATs can be found on the FAQ page, which also has some handy tips about how the game is run and other questions about the game that aren't answered elsewhere in the mod journal. But if you don't see your question answered anywhere, please don't be afraid to ask!
In-game time, this event lasts a day, but you can tag for however long you want!
If visiting players do app into the game they will be able to remember visiting the town (or viewing it in a video feed), as well as everyone they met, the moment they show up in the town of Luministi for real. Yeah for ready-made CR, right?
And for current players, consider this a plot break! I'll have the game's next proper plot update for you guys tomorrow, so enjoy the breather while you can!
This event is the last one the game will hold, unfortunately, as Luminsti is in its final season. All of the storylines and mysteries introduced back in June 2010 when the game first opened will be brought to a close, and how it all does will be up to everyone involved. There are choices to be made and tasks that need to be accomplished--but only if you do it. Not doing something also will result in something, but whether it's for better or worse, well... You'll just have to come along for the ride and see, won't you?

You wouldn't happen to have seen a friend of mine around, have you?
Taller. Dark gray armor, yellow stripes. Slightly crazy.
[The last one is half-joking because at this point she trusts Wash enough to think he's at least mostly all there.]
no subject
[That was Washington she was referring to, right? Tall - check. Dark grey armor - check. Yellow stripes - check. But after the events of the last week or so, that last item gets a surprisingly firm indignant response.]
Agent Washington is not crazy in the slightest.
no subject
Wash is here, then?
no subject
Ah, well, yes. I, um, I honestly wouldn't have approached you at all if I hadn't guessed that you knew each other.
no subject
How did you figure that?
[Where she's from people in armor like hers are all over the place. You're going to have to explain this one.]
no subject
Well I've never seen anyone else with armor like that...
no subject
[She wears an ODST variant. He wears mark VI.]
no subject
[Both terribly unfashionable and intimidating. This person probably never ever takes hers off either, he'd be willing to bet.]
no subject
[You can't see but her eyebrows are raised at you, Ichijou. She's suspecting foul play here.]
no subject
[He starts to describe some of the motifs he's picturing, drawing the features on himself with a finger. And he starts talking and gesturing faster and faster as he goes because this exchange is making him incredibly nervous.]
They both have these very striking brightly-colored... window... visor... things, which reflect light in a similar manner. And there's this sort of boxy-looking radiating embellishment right here on the chest, your helmets both have a stripe in the exact same location, like this, the points of attachment for the shoulder pieces look quite alike in design...
And the only other armor I can compare them to - that is, the only one I've ever really seen, was made of solid gold and had giant horns on it.
no subject
[Said in deadpan because that really doesn't make sense. It's standard issue besides a few modifications.]
no subject
You don't believe me, do you?
no subject
[Again with the deadpan.]
no subject
Do I look like someone who would ever be caught in a place where people have to wear armor? Why would I even lie about that?
no subject
[Even if the war's over now she can't leave. She has the Director's mess to help mop up and the recovery force to direct. And she's feeling QUITE bitter about that, too. Thanks for bringing it up.
Also she doubts this is your fault, but all things considered looks can definitely be deceiving.]
no subject
If I had been the cause of this, I would've sent you right back where you came from the moment your hand started hovering over that gun you're carrying. I've had more than my fill of grievous bodily harm lately as it is.
no subject
You've been injured recently?
no subject
And I wouldn't be in anything close to as stable a condition as I'm in now if it wasn't for your "craaaaaazy" friend.
no subject
[Oh he's not letting that go? This is getting irritating.]
Oh son of a -Look, I only said slightly crazy. Anyone who worked with us could fit that description.
[479 used to do some pretty crazy stunts as a pilot, but the freelancers? They literally were driven insane by the project, and Wash had it pretty bad for a while. She about to talk about the classified stuff but... This she could say. ]
no subject
And as someone who looks like you can hit him with a pillow and kill him (and in this case, looks are not at all deceiving), he can kind of grasp the idea of someone with an exceptionally dangerous job being a little nutty. You're off the hook this time.]
Ah, my apologies! I thought that you were just being insulting. I know that Agent Washington doesn't need someone like me defending him, but after what happened, well, I don't really know how else to express how much I appreciate that...
no subject
You really owe him one, huh....Well I guess there are worse people to be indebted to.
Where are you from?
no subject
[Ichijou, on the other hand, is quite easy to read. He's relieved by the transition to a less emotional subject.]
I may not look like it, but I'm originally from Japan. That's, um, it's on the planet Earth...
no subject
[You're getting a pause as she kind of looks you over again. ]
And you're sure you've never seen armor like mine before?
no subject
And honestly, both yours and Agent Washington's make me nervous. I can see the practical purpose of hiding your faces, but I spent something like a year believing that Washington was some kind of very well-programmed robot because of it.
It took being trapped in an enclosed space alone with him for me to find out otherwise.
Im going to use a PB now- is this ok?
Is that better?
PSSH NO (yeah it's fine!)
