[For days, the zombie invasion of the Luministi town and spacestation has gone on, but through various means, there have been less and less zombies appearing by the day. And now, only a few remain, stubbornly shambling after their prey--

--or rather they were. With a bright, blinding flash of light, their bodies instantly change. No longer are they dead and decaying, but are that of full-fledged living beings with absolutely no desire for brains or flesh of the living. In fact, while they take a moment to blink and look around to see where they are, these townspeople merely shrug and continue on with their business like they did months ago. For them, it's back to their normal routine, and if asked, they won't even remember being a zombie. No one does. Even those who were killed during the fighting are back, right as rain.

But something else has changed.

Something big, yet the sound was so soft and heard by none. A door has been opened...

And from the surprise left in the town square, it seems other metaphorical doors have been opened as well, a fact that the sender of a text message to all of the CATs, is very well aware of:]

Plot Details: Just Breathe

Welcome to Luministi's Fourth Wall event! If you have never participated in 4th wall with us before, the portion above the cut there is an IC continuation of the story that has been in the making for the past two seasons (a summary of which can be read here if you are curious, but it's not required reading!) Unlike past events, the town is not only fully populated with people who will just talk about mundane things about Luministi, but the pathway to the spacestation via the Mayor's House has been opened. How long that will remain open is anyone's guess, but for now, take advantage of it!

Also, visitors have a choice of physically appearing in the town square or communicating from their own world via the CAT.

Now, for those of you new to the game, the CATs, or Communications Audiovisual Transmitters, are personalized communication devices about the size of your palm, and for this day only, visiting characters will have this device. They'll have found it randomly on their person with no idea how it even got there. From a video broadcast standpoint, you'll be able to see the the immediate surroundings of the person you're talking to. More information about the CATs can be found on the FAQ page, which also has some handy tips about how the game is run and other questions about the game that aren't answered elsewhere in the mod journal. But if you don't see your question answered anywhere, please don't be afraid to ask!

In-game time, this event lasts a day, but you can tag for however long you want!

If visiting players do app into the game they will be able to remember visiting the town (or viewing it in a video feed), as well as everyone they met, the moment they show up in the town of Luministi for real. Yeah for ready-made CR, right?

And for current players, consider this a plot break! I'll have the game's next proper plot update for you guys tomorrow, so enjoy the breather while you can!

This event is the last one the game will hold, unfortunately, as Luminsti is in its final season. All of the storylines and mysteries introduced back in June 2010 when the game first opened will be brought to a close, and how it all does will be up to everyone involved. There are choices to be made and tasks that need to be accomplished--but only if you do it. Not doing something also will result in something, but whether it's for better or worse, well... You'll just have to come along for the ride and see, won't you?

[despite seeing a zombie return to normal before his very eyes, as well as being told he can relax for a bit, Wash does anything but and proceeds to make his rounds through the spacestation. his patrol eventually takes him to the entrance leading to the Mayor's house. he's been so used to the doorway being locked that he almost turns around right then and there, but not this time. something inside him just says that it'll be different this time, and it is.

the passageway opens up to that one room with all the video screens, but Wash doesn't stop there to investigate. he immediately makes his way through the room, intent on finally getting into town, and while he walks, he turns on his CAT and begins to broadcast]

This is Agent Washington, broadcasting on an open channel. The passageway between the town and the spacestation has been opened, so if you want to get in or out, now is the time to go.

[Luca, back in her own world, has been sitting in her tent, quietly watching whatever the CAT projects to her and trying to make sense of it all. It's not working very well. So when someone actually treats it as a direct communication device, she figures that she's not going to figure anything out by keeping silent. So she starts a video feed of her own.]

Hello? Uhhm, Agent Washington, you said? What's going on?

[vengefulagent]

[business-like] Yes. You look like you're broadcasting from...not here. So, you have a device called the CAT which can display video and text, as well as audio. Right now, you're still somewhat safe, but I'm afraid since you have the CAT, you might be a person of interest for whomever is taking people like myself and others to a town called Luministi. And...it's not actually a real town. It's a fictional town on a spacestation where someone has been running experiments on us all.

[sorry Luca, but he's in an information giving kind of mood.] Wait second. I'm sorry, but you look a bit familiar. What's your name?

[melenas]

[She nods all through his explanation. Of course, a lot of it is... not really making any sense, but she's taking in whatever she can.

The recognition doesn't catch her off-guard, and that shows a little in the way she easily smiles for him.]

Oh, yes, of course! I should have introduced myself earlier, I'm sorry. I'm Luca Trulyworth.

[vengefulagent]

[his eyes widen behind his helmet] ...Really. [he sounds a bit disbelieving] You're really the Luca I've heard about?

[melenas]

Well, unless you've heard about other Lucas, then I guess so! [Have another pleasant smile.] The odds are pretty high though, I guess. I'm a Dive therapist. Does that maybe ring another bell?

Oh, and... I'm a Holy Maiden. [Clearly she's not quite used to that title yet, since the smile takes a slightly embarrassed turn and she fidgets a bit in place, tucking a bit of her hair behind her ear.] There's that, too.

[vengefulagent]

No, I--yes. [he might have stuttered because of the Dive therapy thing.] You're the one I've heard about. From Croix.

[melenas]

Croix? Really? [Now she's blushing a teensy bit. That means a lot to her, okay?]

How do you know him?

[vengefulagent]

He's... [yeah, he can see that look] He's a friend. I've known him for over a year now, but how we met is a lot more complicated than that. Just know that he's safe. I'm keeping an eye on him for you.

[melenas]

[At that last sentence of his, she giggles a little. But... she looks a little confused, even though she's smiling still.]

Well, I'm glad he's safe. And it's good you're keeping an eye on him. Thank you! But... I just saw him, so what kind of trouble could he really have gotten into in just a few minutes?

Wash?

We've got a problem.
[And by small Wash is free to notice that 479er is broadcasting from the town center of Luministi and not Freelancer HQ.]

[vengefulagent]

[he stops dead when he sees where she is] ...Yes. Yes, we do. [he starts running for the town square] I'm on my way.

[sarcasticpelican]

Great.
[Inserting the maximum amount of dryness into a single word.]

Do you have an ETA for me?

Under three minutes. [as it is, he's sprinting through the front garden and down the long walkway into town. it's going to be less than what he said, actually.]

Are you all right? You didn't see any zombies, did you?

[sarcasticpelican]

I'll be here.

Zombies, Washington?
[You know, she really has no idea if she should believe you or not.]

[he can tell just from that tone of voice and takes a moment to answer] Yes. Zombies. And before you jump to any conclusions, I'm not the only one to encounter and kill them.

[oh look, he should be in sight now as he rounds the corner of the library]
