Either way, there is a noticeable stutter in her voice. More than likely nerves and the shock of ending up in a place so different than where she was headed. She's also fiddling with a strange looking sphere, and there's a bird sitting on her shoulder.] Though the rentoraa paperweight is nice. It is a rentoraa right?

Umm.. I-I guess if anyone from the League hears this.. I'm ok. Please don't worry - and Kyou-san, please don't scold them. I-It's not their fault, ok?

Um. [Another fiddle with the pokeball in her hands then Leaf sets it down. Yea, she's still nervous, but... she did see the news about the life support systems etc on the CAT before she started this.] I-f there is a-anything I can do to um. [Ichijou looks not unlike an overworked secretary, as he's balancing what looks like two CATs in his hands and watching over a switchboard intently. He doesn't even look up as her message broadcasts, but he tries to maintain a pleasant, professional tone in his answer.]

Regardless of where you should be you are here. While I'm not responsible for that, allow me to be the first to apologize for it.

And I'll also apologize for the poor timing. This is typically a much more calm and pleasant place - I promise! We've just run into a massive system failure. [He finally glances up expecting to see two cutely nicknamed human associates. His calm smile screws up slightly.]

Y-yes..This is Naty. [The spooky thing isn't the bird; it's that it's just staring straight ahead without blinking.]

Is he alright? Am I scaring him?

[Clearly Ichijou has no idea what this bird's deal is. But he tries to talk to it anyway using the most soothing tone he can produce.]

Sssh, sssh, you'll be fine, little bird...

Uh - O-oh yes. His species is always like this. [A small laugh as she reaches up to pat the bird, getting a chirp from it.] H-have you never seen a neiti before?

Obviously not, otherwise I would've known that disconcerting staring and stillness are a natural state instead of thinking that I accidentally traumatized him somehow.

I don't understand... are you from outside Toujo? [It's... the only reason she can think of if someone doesn't know what a natu looks like.]

I don't even know where that is. I can't say that I know all that much about exotic birds anyway. I appreciate how beautiful they are, but I prefer the personalities of cats.

Oh. Umm... [Leaf is more a dog person herself, given that cats are something of a pest around where she lives.] Umm. It's on the same continent as Shin'ou. O-Or a-are you from o-one of the umm. Isolationist nations?

I don't know where that is, either, and while my nation's people are occasionally xenophobic, I definitely wouldn't call it isolationist as a whole!

[He mulls it over for a moment, then comments on the matter about as casually as one might comment on the weather.]

We're probably just from different planets.

D-Diff...different pla...planets? [!!!!! Leaf jerks back, eyes wide and the natu squawks before settling down as Leaf shifts it to her arms now. The only other planet that they know of is impossible to land on and they have lost every rocket sent there in the last 500 years.] U-Ummm.

O.... Ok. H-How, i-if I may ask, th-that is?

[He rolls his eyes even though that was pretty much his own response when he first found out that everyone was from different planets/universes/times.]

If you're going to panic because I'm a space alien or whatever, don't. About the most harm I could do to you is give a little scratch with my nails. [His nails, which he takes a moment to admire. They're shaped perfectly and painted a cheery, vibrant red.] And I wouldn't risk messing them up unless I really, really had to.

And really, I couldn't even do that right now if I wanted to. I'm trapped in the secret laboratory that's connected to the town and even if I wasn't I can't exactly leave my current position right now since our lives depend on me staying put.

I suppose you wouldn't know it from your current position, but we're in a space station right now. I would love to show you the beautiful view outside, but...

[He throws his hands in the air in exaggerated resignation, accidentally dropping one of the CAT-like devices in the process - he pauses for a few seconds as he scoops it off of the floor and checks it for damage.]

[Leaf gives a nervous giggle at his remark about messing up his nails.] Oh. I see.

[As far as she can tell, this all means that he has the power over their lives. She thinks, anyway, but she's not going to say that. It would mean admitting a weakness to someone that she doesn't know.]

Right, my apologies. I hate to admit it but I'm feeling a little absentminded - we're running low on food over here and I've been so hungry that I can hardly stand it! It makes it difficult to keep track of things.

Being from different planets is an odd concept for me as well, especially since I recognize your accent. And from that I would have thought that you lived some distance to the south...

How else would you explain why I don't know any of these places you've mentioned? And don't you dare say that I'm uneducated.

If I had any food, I'd offer to send you some. [...Nope. She hasn't even thought of the How in that comment. Just that she should try and help, or send food over as a favour.]
