8 guesses to where I'm at right now. Here's a little hint: it's 8ig. Try to be cre8ive a8out it. I might give you a little reward for all your trou8le! :::;)
[While Vriska waits, she contemplates trying on the dress. It should still fit perfectly. She hasn't grown much--or at all. (Being dead did that to you, apparently.) Though she has a nasty suspicion Kanaya won't be happy to see her in it.
By the time she decides it's probably not the best idea, Kanaya's already there and knocking anyway. She leaves the dress standing on display in the living room and goes to answer.]
Hi!
[The expression on her face is part false cheeriness, part pure curiosity.]
[Kanaya was prepping herself to get in and out to make this as painless as possible, but when Vriska opens the door, an altogether different sensation begins to well up in her chest. And it's... not a bad feeling.
She blinks at Vriska and regains focus, though she finds her irritation of weeks past oddly absent.]
[Vriska blinks in surprise--and confusion. Well, uh. What. No "hey, can you please make this quick?" polite bullshit, laced with quiet annoyance and disdain?]
Um, yeah???????? Come in, I guess. [She moves to one side, holding the door open.]
[She wipes her shoes on the welcome mat before heading in. Vriska's living room is easily visible from the entranceway, and she smiles to see that it's already on its way to becoming just as disheveled as her old respiteblock was. It's just like her.]
[Kanaya turns, anchored by Vriska's grip, but her good humor remains. Though Vriska's behavior is a little puzzling.] More than okay. In fact, I feel great.
[Her gaze turns back to the living room.] It occurred to me that it's been a long time since I've caught up with you. I would say an impossibly long time, if time were a concept that could be even improbable.
[She barely refrains from flinching at the mention of time. It's been a long time for her, too. Probably longer than the other troll realizes.]
You didn't seem all too interested in talking to me last time. [If Kanaya were anyone else, Vriska would expect this to be one big prank. But the jade troll is too much of a tightass for this type of joke. And for once it works in her favor! In any case, she does suspect some sort of foul play, even if it's not from Kanaya's end.] You know. After meeting again for the first time in aaaaaaaages. No big deal! Happens all the time. Nothing special.
You're right, I wasn't very forthcoming at the time. I was angry, that much is certain, but now that I think about it, my reasoning seemed really kind of petty. [She should have known that it was just Vriska being Vriska.]
Sorry if I hurt your feelings. If it makes you feel better, we can do something to make up for it.
[Handwaving that. Don't pay any attention, Kan. Cooperate and forget about that little slip.]
What WAS your reasoning though? And don't even joke, I wasn't hurt at all! [Really, she wasn't. Really.] Why would something so minor bother me? I'm a bigger troll than that. In fact, I'm the best troll.
[Notice that she's not saying no to the idea of doing something together.]

I think that's a fair assessment. [Best case of exemplary troll behavior in town, at the very least. She begins to move into the living room because the entranceway is hardly the best place for a chat.]
My feelings at the time stemmed from an incident far removed from that instance, though you were probably able to discern that much. [A spark of hesitation touches her, but then again... why not? It feels like embarrassment isn't even a thing anymore.] Until that time -- and until extremely recently, really -- I harbored against you a woebegotten sentiment of betrayal entirely unintended on your part. However, directly outlining the offense that had taken place for your understanding was out of the question, as it would have necessitated an excavation of even deeper rooted issues that I frankly was unwilling to discuss.

[She pockets her CAT and takes a moment to soak in what she's just done. Idiot.
Anyway, off she goes. She'll arrive on Vriska's doorstep in about five minutes and announce her arrival with a trio of tepid knocks.]
