luministi | [video] S3-1: What's going on?!

Unngh...wha-? [she shakes her head rapidly, trying to clear the spots from her vision] Oh, boy! That’s only making it worse! [she holds her head in her hands as her vision clears and she is able to take in her strange surroundings, quickly jumping to her feet and flailing her arms about her while glancing about wildly] This doesn’t look like Tiberoa!

[she scampers about the room, looking for anything familiar when a man with a smiling face pops up behind a strange barrier and begins speaking to her; immediately her hands fly to her hips as she glares at the man with the all-too-cheery attitude] Good morning, YOURSELF! Now where the heck am I?!

[flailing her arms once more and beginning to advance towards the man, as he continues with his speech, completely ignoring the girl in front of him] EXCUSE ME! [not taking notice of his words, her frustration only grows as she continues to be ignored, tapping the barrier between her and the man in front of her]

I asked you where I am! So shut UP already and ANSWER ME!! [producing no result from her actions, the man behind the barrier suddenly disappears, leaving a black void in his place] HEY! Where do you get off just LEAVING like that?! I DON’T THINK SO!!

[her eyes narrow, all patience gone, as she snatches her maul from its resting place before twirling and whipping it right into the barrier, which instantly shatters from the force, revealing shards of glass and wiring on the inside] ERRRGH! WHERE - in all of Endiness - AM I?!

[realizing the barrier was just some strange sort of box with no people inside of it, she heaves the giant hammer onto her shoulder and takes another look around; eyes landing on the room just beyond she mutters to herself] Well, maybe someone is in here...

[finding no one else in the room beyond, her frustration begins to grow again until she eyes the basket on the table and rifles through it, throwing objects out right and left to land on the table or couch nearby until her hand finds a cool, metal device which begins humming at her touch (and unbeknownst to her, begins recording publicly to the the other residents)] AUGH! What the heck are you?!

[she jumps back and holds her maul in front of herself, threatening the thrumming creature not to come any nearer as she slowly backs herself out of the room through the door] Gooooood...THING. Just stay riiiiiiiiight there.

[finding herself assured that the strange metal creature is not aggressive, she turns on her heel and heads out the door, determined to figure out where she is - not realizing the CAT finds its own way of attaching itself to her skirt to travel along with her and continues recording]

[trying to keep her cool, Meru wonders if she has just been somehow transported to some other area of Endiness, like Serdio maybe? she's never been there...] This doesn't look ANYTHING like Endiness, though!

[flailing her hammer about, she stands in the doorway of "her" townhome, Luministi Greens West A12, and just looks about, wondering what in the heck she is supposed to do next!]

[as Meru stands, hands on hips, scanning the area - filled with townhomes seemingly identical to the one she just exited - a sudden sound comes from the vicinity of her hip] What th-? AUGH!!

[finally she notices that the CAT had attached itself to her skirt and now it was making peeping noises at her] WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU?

[swiftly she drops her hammer so that she can try to pry the thing off with both hands (careful not rip her skirt - she's already exposed enough as it is!) and tosses it into the bushes at the front of her door] I told you to be good and stay INSIDE! How did you follow me?!

[heart racing, she reaches once again for her hammer, not trusting the thing, despite its cute noises - in Endiness, even the smallest, most unassuming things can be deadly] Just...LEAVE ME ALONE!

[with her maul outstretched in front of her, she slowly backs up away from the CAT, which just stares back at her innocently from where she threw it]

[His normal speaking voice is a stark contrast from the "peep"s, as it's actually quite deep.]

You're going to give me a terrible headache if you keep that up. Where are you even from, that it's acceptable to throw tiny creatures?

[the noises coming from the creature this time were much different from the twittering peeps she had heard earlier; this time the voice of a man emitted from the...thing] So, this creature has a lot of different voices??

[still not understanding, Meru edged ever so closer to the creature as it continued speaking] Well, DUH! I'm from ENDINESS!

[she twirls on one foot with a large, genuine grin; after stopping she sets her hammer in a fashion that she can lean on its counter-weight casually, a simple conversation with the creature not frightening her as much as its other antics] The BEST dancer in all the land, in fact!

[she heaves her hammer to rest it nonchalantly on her shoulder as she continues speaking to the creature] And if you knew ANYTHING about the great land of Endiness you'd know that almost EVERYTHING is dangerous - no matter how big or small! So you can never be too careful. DUH~~~!!

Hmmm, never heard of it. I don't know that I want to if literally everything is deadly.

That does explain the giant mallet, though, even if I'd expect a dancer to have something a little more elegant like a baton or swords. Even if the colors are impressively well-matched to your outfit [Which, note, he sounds genuinely pleased by], the shape of it doesn't flow all that well...

Well, not everything... but I'm still learning, too, I mean I just... [She goes quiet. Still too new to this whole "not being around Winglies" thing.] Just left home to start my career as a dancer, that's all!!

[Phew. Quick save.] You'd be surprised at how well it works! I've even incorporated it into a few of my dances! The knights of Fletz LOVE it when I do that~

[She grins and shows her mallet off proudly, doing a small twirl with it guiding her momentum before again hefting it to rest across her shoulders, peering at the creature to which she was speaking.]

I think I know what you mean, kind of. Not that I ever had to carry a weapon, but when I first lived on my own I was forced to get pretty clever and approach things with caution.

Though a giant hammer certainly would've helped make others take me seriously... I probably couldn't even pick that thing up if I tried, let alone swing it.

[He switches to video!]

I was originally planning to tease you, but I wasn't expecting you to be so cute about everything.

Teehee, you really think so?! [A happy twirl follows this; she's a girl who loves compliments.] But why would you tease lil ol' me??

[She grins widely, leaning an arm on her hammer casually to steady herself. Any tension she'd been feeling since arriving seeming to have completely dissipated at the friendliness of the conversation. Yeah, that easy to please.] Maybe I can help you learn to use one, too! Though, maybe not mine if you don't think you can pick it up... But I'll still help you learn to fight if you want!

[Her grin turns a little mischievous.] You gotta help me first, though. Mind telling me where the heck I am?! [Ah, of course, back to that. She must have her answers, you know! A small flail indicating her surrounding area accompanies this, though she tries to show her frustration at the situation and not the man before her.]

See, that's exactly what I'm referring to, that thing you're doing - the twirling. That's adorable. And I was going to tease you because it seemed like it would be easy since you were so confused, not to mention that while it may seem like I'm standing right in front of you, I'm actually quite far away. So if you decided to get back at me with that hammer of yours, it wouldn't work.

Lately it's been very rare for me to find someone that I can get the better of like that.

[He just smirks incredulously at the offer to teach him how to fight. Ichijou is just as delicate, if not more, than he looks! He'd rather make someone else do it.]

Since you're on my good side so far, you happen to be in luck! I think I can explain more about this place than the average person you'll find. This is Luministi, which is a place with two parts: The side you're on is a small town, obviously, and the side I'm on is a mostly-abandoned research facility.

Almost everyone you'll meet arrived in the same exact manner as you did, although at different times.

[A pause. She's almost tempted to test the hammer thing, but figures if he's telling the truth she'd end up looking rather ungraceful. Although she can handle it well, sometimes the weight of her maul can be a little...overbearing. (In other words, she'd fall flat on her face.) If he's lying, he's being nice to her so she would feel awful for hurting him. Deciding against the trial, she twirls again satisfactorily.]

Well, you're being so nice, so I wouldn't dream of doing that!

[She ponders his next words for a long while, brow furrowed as she tries to take everything in before glancing back up at him. She takes a deep breath to prepare the string of oncoming questions.] Where is this Luministi? And why aren't you in the town like everyone else? How exactly DID we all get here?! All I know is I was walking to Fletz and then BAM! I'm here.

[She flails. The frustration getting to be too much. She just doesn't understand how she got here, or this place at all. This guy is being helpful, but it's still so confusing!] Almost everyone? Who is different?

I'm not really good with celestial objects, so I can't say exactly where it is. It's somewhere remote out in space. We're here because a scientist was trying to make a machine that could bring someone back to life, but it didn't work. Instead, it grabbed random people from across time and space.

Some people found out about the machine and decided to purchase both it and Luministi - that's who we may find who's actually from around here, but we only know a couple of the people from that group - and we sort of chased them off and haven't been able to find them again. As far as I know the one remaining from that organization keeps using the machine because they find us amusing.

And there's a handful of others who aren't affiliated with that group, but I can't talk about them. It's a secret!

The reason I'm stuck on this side, well, some of us showed up here about a year ago but we were given access to the device to take us back. I didn't want to go back to where I came from, so I lived here by myself for several months and left most things unlocked so I could freely go from one side to the other. In the lab area there's this huge window with a beautiful, soothing view that I liked to look at before going to sleep, and one morning I woke up to a number of guests that I couldn't properly greet because I had been locked out of the town...
