[Croix is back in his little townhouse, and clearly annoyed by this fact. He even sighs before he actually speaks for the CAT.]

If I knew I would only have that long back home, I don't think I would have bothered.

[Annoyed, but... well, apparently not surprised. He shakes his head.]

Who else is here? Maybe we should talk. [slight hesitation] Is anyone going to go see the dedication celebration?

Yeah. A whole minute. Maybe two. [He shakes his head.] Without you? Do you have something else to do already?

[Because, yeah, working under the assumption that you went home...]

Just enough time take a couple breaths of that nice Metafalss air, huh?

[he sets his CAT out farther so Croix can see he's on the observation deck] Yeah, you could say that. Seems someone doesn't want me in there.

[and guess who isn't going to break that assumption and admit he didn't go home...]

And to watch Luca and Lady Cloche argue a little...

Oh. I see. [Slight pause] In that case, I'll let you know what I find.

[he remembers her, even if she was a fake] So, everything was back to normal then.

Be sure you don't go through any curtains this time. Don't want to lose face again.

It was as if I never left. [Okay, so that's a small sigh. :/ He misses them, okay?]

Yeah, I'll keep that in mind. [He shakes his head. So maybe it's a little funny now... but mostly it's still a pretty downright djafkslj-inducing memory.] And you try not to hurt any trees.

[he'd like to think of that sigh as one of exasperation, but he knows better by now] You'll get back to them. And for good this time.

Thankfully, there aren't any trees here for me to hurt. [though, on that note, he starts moving towards Lab #1 and the oxygen farm to see that things are still functional there.]

Yeah. I know.

[He's sure, as always. Though maybe he does sound a little... ... different? ... Okay, so maybe getting to see Luca for like two minutes before getting yanked away yet again might have made him realize he's possibly in love with the girl, but... that would require him to properly put two and two together. Oh well. ]

For now. Hopefully the layout won't suddenly change on you.

[he does notice a slight change in his tone. perhaps Wash has even noticed this during his time on a mission with Croix.

however, because this is Wash, he is going to keep that to himself for a while and then say something about it when he thinks Croix is ready.]

[he chuckles faintly, thinking about jinxes.] Or you, as well. Hopefully going through your front door doesn't turn you out on the lake.

[That gets him to crack half of a smile.]

Well, we're about to find out. I have a celebration to go to, after all.
