[For a long time now, he has remained silent, moving quietly from place to place, and observing. Always observing. He is the one who watches the watchers and knows, somehow, when things do not go the way he wishes them to. And he has gotten angry many times in the past, oh yes, but has yet to raise his voice even once. He doesn't need to. His associates' guilt and fear of him has kept them in check for a long time, but after too many disappointments and loss, he has no choice but to do everything himself. As he should have done from the beginning.]

[His presence, however, has not gone unnoticed. The other has been careful to mask its own presence, but has been hasty in past months. Then again, who else could break what he has created? This added difficulty has made him cautious and slow to make repairs, but now...he's almost ready. A test is what he needs now. He smiles, awaiting their reactions, and using a system he helped create, he sends two lines of text to those whose lives he can still touch, even from afar...]

[So, no matter where you are or what you are doing, a familiar device will chime. Perhaps you didn't even know you had such a thing on you, but for some reason, kept it on you at all times. Or you might be one of the lucky few to retain ready access to your memories in exchange for not being able to return home yet. Nevertheless, everyone with a CAT receives the same message at the same instant across the various worlds and universes:]

Soon, you will be returned to me. You will not escape again.

[The text remains on the CAT's screen before it saves itself to the device's text directory and replaces the top screen with the Town of Luministi directory, a list of familiar names and pictures suddenly displayed before you. What will you do now?]


❧ Plot Details: Off-Season 2

And so, we meet...well, perhaps some of you know who this might be, or might have an inkling--or might have no clue at all. You will be seeing more of him in the future and in the proper season, so think of this as his way of saying, "Hello!" Which is fitting since we're saying "hello" to Dreamwidth!Luministi! I hope everyone is settling in okay. It's gonna feel a bit weird for a bit, but hopefully, things will feel right again soon~ (And if anyone needs help with things like layouts and stuff, I can see what I can dig up.)

But like the cut text said, this is open to all game members. Anyone who is still on the taken list can participate. Those who weren't active in the end, we'll say you went home at the end and kept the CAT (more end-game information from the second season can be found here.) Also, I...was a silly thing and through weird and stupid circumstances, managed to make the previous Off-Season entry disappear from the listing, BUT! It still exists! Just...not in the normal list for some really weird reason. It can be found here, and lays out Nathan's plans and what the others will be doing. (And provides a snapshot of the universe surrounding the Luministi Labs.) Hopefully my mistake can be fixed...

Anyway, in this open post, most of you won't be able to do in-person threads with each other (unless you're in the two teams doing off-world stuff), but the video, audio, and text functions all work perfectly, so you can communicate with anyone and ask what the hell is going on, etc.

Oh...and two more things. For those who went home, as of now, you have full access to your memories of Luministi at any time, dreaming or awake. How your character deals with the sudden set of memories (or confirmation that hey, those dreams were a little too vivid) is up to you. Also, the CATs will only be able to connect for a "day" to those in other worlds--but don't think this entry is only open for a literal day; I only mean ICly, in-game terms.

Let's see what else... Oh, keep an eye on the OOC comm for more updates regarding things I will need from you all to update the mod journal (I still have quite a bit of work to do updating all links/coding and such), as well as the dates of the open 4th wall event in March. I haven't quite settled on one yet, but I expect it'll be at least a month before I open apps/reserves in April.

It's not made things easy. People've recognized us, and it's a bit difficult trying to ask questions when you've got them following around asking us to put our names on wee pieces of paper.

[Somehow, the idea of Jamie being hounded for an autograph is rather amusing.]

I'm sorry to hear that. Have you made any headway despite that?

Aye, well, the Doctor'd be the better one to ask. He's the brains when it comes to that sort of thing. But we've not found the man yet, so I'd say there's not too much headway so far.

At least you've not got to worry about anything...for the moment. Look, did ye notice anything odd when the CAT turned on?

A few odd things! There was the message, then remembering everything about Luministi clearly, then being able to talk to everyone on the CAT again.

Och, so ye did get the message, then. [And that's not a good sign. Jamie's starting to look a little worried.] Was yours that one about being returned to someone as well?

Yes... that we will not escape again. [Her face breaks into a (nervous) grin-] I don't know about that! We have done it twice already, so I think our chances would be good.

[She then returns to being more grave] But, better to not be in that position in the first place.

Absolutely no need to apologize. It's all good!

Aye. [Judging by Jamie's expression, he doesn't care for that idea of that happening at all.] Look, Fuu, there's got to be some way to stop that from happening. But if for some reason we can't, do ye think there's some way to prepare on your end? Maybe if ye know it's coming ye can fight against it.

I will try, Jamie. I'm sure that there is something I can do...
Being caught by the man in black happens in an instant, but let's all do our best to fight it even from then!
And... I will see if there are other things I can do to prepare.

[He's right. If she knows a fight is coming, she has to train to be strong and ready for it.]

Hey, ye called me Jamie! [And not Mister Jamie, for a change. A broad smile appears on his face for a few seconds before he refocuses.]

Anyway, could ye maybe make some notes somewhere? Like in a journal, maybe. That way if for some reason something happens, you'll have them there to remind ye.

[At once she blushes, a little surprised herself that she'd come to that level of familiarity with him. But he seemed so happy - even happier than when she'd first changed from calling him 'Mister McCrimmon'?
She didn't understand it, but she was glad to see him happy.]

Ah, good idea! I could start that again, even now. I still have the journals from the last two times here- well, here somewhere.

[The journals has been something of a blind spot, she realized now, like the CAT had been. But she knew the books must also still be nearby.]

Aye. That way ye could - hey, wait a minute. Ye have the journals from before there with ye? They'd not stayed behind in the town?

[wind_of_reason]

Yes, I do! Come to think of it- [She glances off screen, and sees a hair comb on her dresser. She hadn't been sure where she'd gotten it from, but now she knew. Miss Sophie's gift.] I think I got to keep all thing things I'd brought with me from there. The journals, everyone's gifts...

How strange! The first time, I think everything stayed there. But when we came back, the food we'd made was still fresh as when we'd left...

[She tilts her head, thinking carefully. After a moment she shakes it sadly.] I can't think of what it could possibly mean, but I'll start writing things down.

[bonnypiperlad]

Hey? [That sounds a wee bit odd to him.] Why would they go through the trouble of recreating the food that was there when they brought ye back? Unless they brought ye back through time as well as space that second time around.

[wind_of_reason]

[She nods]

As strange as it may seem, I think time travel is the more likely option. Hawk and I tasted the food, and there was no mistaking it as our own cooking.

I'm a bit familiar with time 'flowing' at different rates in different places, but this seems to be on a whole other scale!

[bonnypiperlad]

Well, maybe not so strange as all that. [Jamie's an old hand at it, after all. He just didn't remember about it for awhile.]

I mean, they've pulled people in from different worlds, so why not different times. Odd, though, that they wanted it to be exactly the same time when they brought ye back, even though ye could remember everything that happened before.

[wind_of_reason]

Well, it seems we were returned to our own worlds at the exact moment we left, so... why not being pulled back to Luministi the same way? It is odd though - why should it matter when they bring us back?

[All this time travel talk - it feels like she's in a science fiction movie or something. It's a bit dizzying.]

[bonnypiperlad]

Aye. Ye would think it shouldn't, but there must be some reason for it. Hey! Maybe the Doctor could figure it out. He knows more about that sort of thing than I do.

[wind_of_reason]

Oh, yes! Please do ask him when you have the chance. I'm sure that proper time travellers would have a much better chance of thinking of something than I would!

[bonnypiperlad]

Hey! I'm a time traveler too, ye know. [Just one that doesn't understand...well, most of about how it works.]

But I will. Actually...I think I might be able to get out this window, come to think about it. I wonder if I shouldn't go try and find him now, while I've a chance to.

[wind_of_reason]

Then you're also much more likely to think of something than I am!

[She looks at him curiously. It doesn't look like he's in a window?]

Oh, you got separated from him?

[bonnypiperlad]

Not completely. I'm just in one of the rooms in this resort we're looking into. [He turns the CAT around so she can see the room - and the window, which had previously been outside of the range of the device.]

Thought I might have a wee bit of a lie down before we go and look further, but I'd not taken the lassies outside into consideration.

[wind_of_reason]

Oh! And now you need to escape out the window to meet up with the Doctor because the fangirls are blocking the door? ...Are you very high up?

[bonnypiperlad]

Ah...a wee bit. [Read: yes.]

There's a pipe here, though, and I should be able to make my way down it until I can get to the fire escape.

[wind_of_reason]

A pipe. ... [She pictures Mister Jamie shimmying down a pipe in his kilt and immediately blushes.]

You're sure that'll be okay?
