[Croix is sitting in his living room, still. He takes a deep breath and gently clears his throat before speaking.]

Excuse me. I have a question for anyone who was here once before.

[An awkward pause - he's trying to find the wording... but with a shake of his head, he gives up on it. May as well be blunt - maybe weirder really has happened here.]

Do people come back to life in this town? Because, I think... that might have just happened. To me.

[You can tell from his expression that he's completely serious, if a little disturbed and clearly very confused.]

[Sophie leans in, taking as close a look at his arm as she can through the CAT] Magic, perhaps? I'm sorry, Croix. This is all so strange.

[grandbellknight]

It is. [He lowers his hand, and he gives her a tiny smile, reassuring.] And you don't have to apologize, Miss Sophie. To be honest, I'm grateful to be alive, even if I'm confused as to how it all happened to begin with.

[shakes her head] No, I'm glad you're all right as well. [frowns worriedly] Though I do wonder what's happened--and if anyone else has had a similar experience.

[grandbellknight]

I wonder the same. Maybe if someone else suffered the same, this will be enough to get them to step forward about it.

[And then he pauses, eyes slightly wide for a split second, gaze focused on a point beyond the camera, apparently. He snaps out of it fairly quickly with a shake of his head and turns to Sophie again.]

I... I think I just remembered something. I mean, just the back of someone's head, but... still.

Yes, I hope you're right.

[on the CAT, it's impossible to miss Croix's apparent zoning out. Sophie leans closer to hers] Croix? Are you all right?

[but she raises an eyebrow at that declaration] The person who took you, perhaps? What did he--or she--look like?

Maybe... they had dark hair. Brown. [He sighs, shakes his head.] I can't tell much else. It's just a quick flash... I'm sorry.

[fortune_sought]

[shakes her head, though she can't help feeling a bit disappointed] There's no need to apologize. That is at least more than we knew before.
