001

[Willis has spent his first few hours in Luministi being confused. And whining a lot. And then assuming this was all a dream, taking a nap, waking up, and whining some more. Eventually he decided that if he was going to be stuck here... he might as well explore.

So he spent the next hour riding around town on his bicycle in an attempt to figure out the layout of the town. Which is kindasorta empty. Which is only making him even more confused.

Yeah, guess who has absolutely no clue about the murder yet.

He stops his bike near the library and leans forward, resting his head on the handlebars.]

Agh. Jeez, so much for finding something interesting.

Well, let's see… There was a period of personalised weather every time people went outdoors, people got stuck inside the botanical gardens, and when everyone was out the statues around town came to life. Then, the festivities for the seven hundredth Founder's Day began, with a night at the Chrysalis… trouble was, everyone who ate there on the night was poisoned, and those of us here then had to find the antidote. The mayor instated a curfew, but there was a phone booth ringing with a message to find it… so that was a lot of trouble, and it didn't stop three people from being murdered. Verita asked everyone to help find the murderer, but it was another man who was locked up- and there was a gas released that cost everyone part of their memories, and a personal belonging.

When everyone had their memories back, the mayor made an announcement that Doctor Resarci- whom the residents believed was the real murdered- was on leave and Deputy Drew, the accused man, had been executed. But there was a second message, with the mayor holding a doll of Verita- and everyone was being turned into dolls. Entrances to buildings were playing games, and if you got the answer wrong, part of you became doll-like… the same for the games people had to play to get their items back.

That ended, but we didn't have much advantage of it- we were all drawn to the mayor's house, with the way out sealed. We could talk to some of the people in town, and then the mayor finally came out to talk to us. Except, since everyone had been trying to work out what was going on, we'd caused a lot of trouble for the project the town had really been, and we convinced the mayor not to go ahead with 'Plan B'…

[wait. something there… he's missing something. Hawk falls silent for a moment, but- no, it's gone, and he shakes his head.]

Anyway! Doctor Resarci had been playing him all along- backing the 'Luministi Revitalisation Project' to revive the mayor's father, and who knows what Resarci was after? They argued and fought, and Audrey shot them both- Resarci non-fatally, and the mayor we saw there was a doppelganger, so while that one was shot the mayor was still alive.

…and it turned out we were in space! [He beams.]

[and that's not even going into too much detail]

Really! It does seem like a lot, doesn't it? Still, yes, that's the hope!

I don't think it'd all fit. So I think we'd have to break it down over a few signs… cover one event with one sign, the next event with another, and so on.

Nope! Would it help?

Well, the trouble there sounds like it would be getting people to go into that room. But yes, that's the general idea!

Maybe they'd be curious enough…

I suppose so, though I'd like to make sure the town square and malt shop are covered.
