[Willis has spent his first few hours in Luministi being confused. And whining a lot. And then assuming this was all a dream, taking a nap, waking up, and whining some more. Eventually he decided that if he was going to be stuck here... he might as well explore.

So he spent the next hour riding around town on his bicycle in an attempt to figure out the layout of the town. Which is kindasorta empty. Which is only making him even more confused.

Yeah, guess who has absolutely no clue about the murder yet.

He stops his bike near the library and leans forward, resting his head on the handlebars.]

Agh. Jeez, so much for finding something interesting.

No! As I said, until I came here, I didn't know there was such a place. It's odd how many of the people who come to this town are from there, really...

Hey, they're classics! Except witches usually lock helpless damsels in towers, or have them eat an apple that makes them fall into an eternal sleep, or poison them... That sort of thing. Usually for a really shallow reason. [Pause.] ... You're not one of those witches, right?

Huh. Maybe Earth's just bigger in relation to Hungry and Strangeland or wherever it is you're from.

[eyes him. did he really just ask her that?] No. Those sound more like the sort of witches who are into dark magic--although rather silly ones, at that.

Ingary. And Earth might be. I've heard it has quite a large number of people.

You don't hear too many stories about good witches. Usually they're mean and stupid. And ugly. [Shrug~] But you don't fall into those categories, so I guess I believe you.

Yeah, it really does. About six billion, I think? Probably a lot more than Injury.

[he is lucky he added that last part. Sophie looks a bit mollified] There are many "good" witches--and wizards--in Ingary.

Yes, Mu said something like that! I'm not certain how many people are Ingary, but it must be a much smaller number. [thoughtfully] I'll have to ask the king the next time I see him.

[... Woah.] You can actually talk to the king?

[nods] Of course. [okay, so maybe it wouldn't be so simple if Howl weren't such an important part of the war strategy--and if Princess Valeria hadn't taken such a liking to her. but still] My husband is the Royal Wizard.

[Mind is seriously blown right now.] Royal Wizard...? Wizards are royal? So does that make you a Royal Witch?

[gives him a look. then again, kids usually do have a penchant for strange questions. explains, patiently] No, wizard's aren't royal. The Royal Wizard works for the king. There are two Royal Wizards--my husband Howl and Wizard Suliman. I don't work for the king.

That's a pretty misleading name, then. "Royal Wizard." [Why are all these other cultures so strange!! ):] Huh. So you don't work for the king, but you can still talk to him?

Why is that? Any position under the king is royal.

Yes, because my husband works for him. And I watch Princess Valeria at times.

So you get to babysit a princess?

Sometimes, yes. She's still very little, so someone needs to keep an eye on her at all times.

No, I don't. I... kinda know what it's like to look after one, though. [Well, a Digimon isn't exaaactly a younger sibling, but hey it can't be that different.]

[... Oh snap. How do you even explain Digimon? Should he explain it? He considers that, and then his expression quite visibly falls as he thinks of the Digimon friend he lost just before arriving at the city.]

Just... people. [A lie, yes, but he feels it's an easier explanation.]

Well, then that means you'll be very good at helping to take care of other residents while the town is so dangerous, right?

Sure, but I was sort of under the impression you thought I couldn't even take care of myself in this city.

No one should be alone, as I said. In a situation like this, we should all be watching out for each other. I only meant that it sounds like you're quite good at that, which is very nice to hear.
