❧ Whispers From Different Worlds
[any and all conversations being held on the CATs suddenly cease all at once, and in the next instant, a little alarm begins to sound. none of the townspeople appear fazed by the strange happening, writing if off as yet another malfunction that has plagued the communications systems in town for the past week.
however, appearing only to the residents' CATs is a video transmission featuring someone whose face is obscured in the shadows, but from the timbre of the voice, it's a young man.]
Please be patient! We're going to help you, but we need a little more time. Keep an eye out for a message from--!

❧ Plot Details: Whispers From Different Worlds
- Welcome to Luministi's Fourth Wall event! As you might have guessed from the above IC portion of this entry, this event will be part of the game's canon and it's all thanks to those malfunctioning CAT devices! However, visiting characters will not appear in the town itself. They will appear in video transmissions alone.
For this entry alone, the vidscreens are still down and most of the CAT functions are down as well with the exception of the video function, enabling residents to communicate with visiting characters, and visitor can also communicate with other visitors as well. Think of it like signals being crossed. And to make things a little easier for everyone, the video transmissions are clear and normal as they would be any other day and don't feature the strange solarised/flipped quirk that they have had for the past week. In any entries made after this one on until the end of the plot, the CATs functions will return to what they were like at the start of the plot.
For those of you new to the game, the CATs, or Communications Audiovisual Transmitters, are personalized communication devices about the size of your palm, and for this day only, visiting characters will have this device. From a video broadcast standpoint, you'll be able to see the the immediate surroundings of the person you're talking to. More information about the CATs can be found on the FAQ page.
In-game time, this event lasts a day, but you can tag for however long you want!
Ah, one more thing! If visiting characters app into the game following this entry's events, memories about what was said and who you spoke to will be able to come to you upon proper entry into the town, but not before then. Characters in-game already will be able to remember their time talking to the visitors and will be able to react to them after the fact.
So yes! Tag in and threadhop in this entry as much as you like! If you have any questions, please feel free to leave an OOC comment here or PM me.
Hope you all have fun and welcome again~

I'm glad. We'll keep an eye out... for something.

I could wish that they were more careless more often! I'm not certain if it was private or not, but we are very likely being monitored.
no subject
Monitored? [well, Menzies will have to take care what she says--which is nothing new for her, really] And who might be doing that, then?

...I'm afraid that I can't be more exact than that, I'm sorry. Last time we found out the town was on a space ship! But no idea if it's the same this time. Ah- sorry if that sounds a bit crazy.

What? Really? That's amazing! I thought that you were a new arrival to the town!
...Maybe someone thought that you could help us? But I'm not sure how it could have gotten there. I'm not sure how we even got here.

Sorry, perhaps some introductions? I'm Fuu Hououji. [And she smiles, clearly inviting the lady to follow suit.]

no subject
Why, thank you, Miss Menzies! I'm from Tokyo. That is, Japan, Earth.
no subject
Got it. [jots a note] How do you spell your name? Then I want to hear everything you know about this possible spaceship-town you're in.
no subject
Is H-o-u-o-u-j-i. That's my family name. Fuu is F-u-u.
As for Luministi, it will take a while to explain everything. Is that all right?
no subject
[but a thought strikes her as she writes down Fuu's name] Hold on a mo', will you? I think it'll save us both a lot of trouble if I just record this conversation. [gets up, going to grab a portable recorder. she's very glad she ducked into an interview room before she started talking over this alien-futuristic radio--and not just because it means her fellow officers aren't hearing all this]

[Fuu waits until everything is set, then settles into a serious demeanour so that she can give the detective as much information as she can.]
To start with your question of how I got here, it might be a matter of what I saw from my perspective, rather than what really happened. I saw a bright flash, caught a very brief glimpse of a man in a black suit, and then I was in a house in Luministi. It all took an instant.
I have no idea how it is done, but it's very sophisticated. It can even take people through time!
For instance, if told you that I'm from 1995 Tokyo, but there is another person in town from 1746 Scotland, would you be surprised?
Oh, and as for who took us, well, we're not too sure this time. Last time it was the principal people in the town who were experimenting on how to resurrect a person. But this time... this time those same people remember nothing of what happened before.
[And she will either continue on with the whole story, or take her questions as they go...]

I know a few time travelers. [her expression twists a little] Really, your situation sounds like just the sort of thing one them would be in the middle of. [blinks, muttering] You know, I wouldn't be surprised if he's got something to do with how I got this thing...
Anyway, there aren't any time travelers that I know of in the city at the moment, but I'll ask around to the regulars about that space-town of yours--see if anyone knows anything, for a start. What else can you tell me about it?
no subject
[*Perks up!*] You know a few time travellers? That's amazing! I just know the one who is here, and I thought that was pretty cool.
Ah, and as for Luministi... The town itself is - or I should say, was - an illusion. We were actually on a ship that seemed rather close to... what was the name... Large Magellanic Cloud, I think it was. And the calendar they were using was something called solar standard calendar. Year 545 if I remember correctly.
But that was all last time. Who knows if it's the same again.
As for the town itself, it's... eclectic. Yes, that's the best word for it. Totally eclectic. Like someone read a few books on Earth popular history and mashed everything together.
no subject
[nods, jotting down a few of the most important details even though she's still recording] All right, spaceship hiding an eclectic town named Luministi near the Large Magellanic Cloud. I'll see what I find out and let you know. [taps the CAT]
But out of curiosity, any reason the time traveller in town hasn't helped you? Hasn't got a time machine handy, I take it?
no subject
Oh, I'm certain that the Doctor would if he could! But his ship seems to be hidden from him.
no subject
...did you just say the Doctor? As in, THE, probably with a capital letter?
no subject
I think so. He says it's his name, but it also seems to be his title.
Do you happen to know of him?
no subject
Has he still got that coat, or has he made like Madonna and "reinvented" himself?
no subject
Well, if you mean a long brown coat, he wears that!
