[not too long after receiving the picture on his CAT, said device turns on, broadcasting everything, just as the Doctor reaches the northernmost door. he pauses for a moment, reading the sign.]

Wait until I'm called? [he makes a face that says "Not on your life," and barges in--but stops short when he spots the four townspeople waiting by the fireplace] Ohhh, and the entertainment's here already! I'd wondered if I'd see you lot again--well, no, not really. Not two of you, anyway.

Well! It's been fun, but I've got things to do: worlds to see, planets to save--and you lot have kept me here for far too long already.

[he stalks across the vast room until he reaches the door, but frowns when he can't turn the doorknob. a little noise of frustration escapes his lips while he pulls out his sonic screwdriver, the instrument whirring for a moment before he sighs and puts it away] Deadlocked... That would figure.

[he runs a hand through his hair as he walks away from the doors. by now he's noticed his CAT is on] Looks like we can't go in to visit our wonderful mayor. Would anyone care to join me here with the rest of our friends? Certainly won't be a dull time, that's for sure...

[ooc: All right, here's the discussion post everyone! Feel free to use this space to talk to one another or the Doctor (so yes, threadhopping is allowed), share what you've learned, and if you want to chat with a mod NPC (Verita, Ms Osculia, Audrey, and Sheriff Iussus), please put their name in the subject line of a comment and we mods will come and tag you!]

[Trying to make herself as comfortable as possible in the extravagant room, Fuu is sitting on one of the plush couches, flipping through her journal and intermittently making notes. She occasionally gives the locked door a strange look. It's not a comfortable thought that the Mayor and Resarci are very likely on the other side. But all she can hear from the door is music.]

[She eagerly looks up when anyone enters the room, hoping to gain more news about what has happened to everyone else since coming to the mansion. She is also very willing to warn people about what she has learned.]

[the house has been very distracting, but that's no excuse. Hawk brings pomegrantes anyway, because they seem like the sort of fruit one could make an apology with.

…and getting all the seeds can be distracting.

Hey. [offers her one]

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[Fuu greets him with a bright smile]

Hello! [She takes the offered fruit and with a gesture invites him to take a seat.]

Have you been doing all right? I was a bit worried that the information I'd given you wouldn't be enough for the challenges here...

[personal profile] desertdaggers 2010-09-25 08:41 am (UTC)(link)
[sitting down, and taking out a dagger to cut his fruit in half] No, it was quite enough. Thank you.

…I'm afraid I wasn't able to find out much about the back of the bar, though.

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-25 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[Fuu rolls the fruit between her palms idly.]

I see. But not to worry - they are very good at keeping secrets here. Thank you for trying.

But speaking of secrets, it seems that they are a bit more willing to share information now than ever before.

Seems so. I wonder what's caused the change.

Have you asked many questions?

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-26 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
An order from the Mayor, I imagine.

Yes I have. And I've gotten the most incredible answers.
[Consider yourself filled in!]

[ooc: And I can list the points that she would go over, if you like?]
desertdaggers: (you don't say)

[personal profile] desertdaggers 2010-09-26 09:49 am (UTC)(link)
That does make sense. The change in heart seems a little sudden, though.

[that would be good if you could, thank you!]

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-26 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Absolutely. Why now...? Perhaps something has gone wrong for them.

[Summarized from here (http://community.livejournal.com/luministi/23300.html#comments):
-Don't know who the man in black is (but the Mayor should)
-There were no application/consent forms
-The town is set up to administer tests to subjects who fit certain specifications and are resiliant
>>-The Mayor wants to discover how to 'revitalize the human body'. Resarci has heavily invested in the project and seeks to profit.
-There are two factions in the town, one protesting the tests. However, most believe that the end will justify the means
-Resarci murdered two men in order to get to Mr Ardes, an 'anti-project element'; the Sheriff was murdered to facilitate placing Iussus so that Resarci could evade evidence implicating him in the murders
-With the 'A' note from the garden, Osculia seems to be sympathetic to the captured residents (although she does see the benefits of the program)
-The Mayor has never been in town, and never had any intention of meeting the residents.
-Fuu may also mention the part of the conversation she didn't really get, about the relationship (http://community.livejournal.com/luministi/23300.html?thread=1448964#t1448964) between Osculia and the Mayor. (Fuu's helplessly dense about matters of love. XD)]

Question is whether or not that's a good thing for us.

To 'revitalize the human body'… [fingers laced under his chin, frowning] That sounds like reviving someone who's been dead a while. I don't know how possible that is.

She must have been very fond of him.

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
It enabled our benefactor to show us the viewfinder, so I'm thinking good!

[Echos his frown] Yes. Miss Verita is under the impression it has to do with healing, but in the context of her Grandfather who passed away, I fear 'reviving' might be more correct.
I've seen a lot of impossible things over the past few months, but that's one impossible thing I certainly don't want to see.

[Breaks from the serious look to a curious one] ...What's that?
desertdaggers: (bugs mean poison)

[personal profile] desertdaggers 2010-09-27 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
[nods]

It's possible to revive people, but that's more after they've been knocked out after too many blows, or too much force.

How did he die?

Miss Osculia, to follow the mayor here.

[*hands the Mayor some Phoenix Down* XD]

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 06:59 am (UTC)(link)
[shakes her head sadly] I'm afraid that won't be possible. It was in a fire, four years ago.

[Processing...] She was very fond of him, so followed him here? But I thought... ... [fitting together that conversation in a new context, she blushes a bit] You mean, they are more than friends?
desertdaggers: (you don't say)

[*adds an Angel's Grail o/*]

[personal profile] desertdaggers 2010-09-27 07:46 am (UTC)(link)
That… would make it difficult. Could he be intending to repair the damage from the fire as well?

It sounds like it. Though she sounds a little bitter about it now.

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
That's another strange thing. The history of the town was pretty much all made up, but there are perhaps some grains of truth. There was a fire four years ago and Miss Verita's grandfather died, but this town is very new. She said that it was completed just shortly before we first arrived here, almost three months ago.

Yes... Because he's been busy experimenting on us, I suppose.
desertdaggers: (you don't say)

[personal profile] desertdaggers 2010-09-28 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
Three months? It seems as though the place has been here longer! Where did they all come from, then?

I suppose he wouldn't have had the attention for other people.

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
[She shakes her head and gives him a rueful smile.]
Another excellent question. No one would even admit where we were, never mind where they came from. Although there does seem to be a major city in the area, so I imagine people could have come from there.

...Like Miss Verita. And Miss Osculia seemed to resent it too.
desertdaggers: (bugs mean poison)

[personal profile] desertdaggers 2010-09-29 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
Had anyone asked where they came from? …Though I suppose they wouldn't have answered. I wonder why they all came for this town- the project?

Maybe he'd have time afterwards, but… I don't think it's a good sign, ignoring the people you care for.

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-30 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
No, they just didn't answer properly. We didn't get any information about anything outside Luministi for a long time.
[Shakes her head] The amount of money to buy a whole town, full of characters and researchers... I can't imagine. Just who is Resarci?

[sadly]. No. Not at all. What could be driving him to this extreme?
desertdaggers: (bugs mean poison)

[personal profile] desertdaggers 2010-09-30 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe the people in charge didn't want us to get curious. He bought all of them? [well then. clearly Hawk should have stolen something from the clinic :|]

I don't know if I want to find out. But if we can, that would probably be useful.

…Can we dismiss mind control?

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-30 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
Miss Osculia implied that they wanted to keep us unaware so that we wouldn't fight back. As if you could keep it from being suspicious!
And it seems that this 'project' is indeed very heavily funded by him.

[She gives him a rueful grin - she's not sure if she wants to know either. He has already murdered three men. But, as he says, it would be useful to know. In fact, Fuu needs to know. So, she nods in agreement.]

...
[She gives that some thought. Could it be dismissed?]

Good question again, Mister Hawk! You ought to get some sort of prize! [Having only the pomegranate in her hands, she presents it back to him with a grand flourish before answering quietly.]
I honestly don't know. But at this point, just about nothing is impossible.
desertdaggers: (you don't say)

[personal profile] desertdaggers 2010-09-30 06:20 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed. Besides, I'd think that being kept unaware would make people more angry and tending to leap to violence. [particularly Duran, who's not the most accurate but hits hard]

It seems he got a lot of say that way. [frown]

[whoops just let him put the half he's got on his legs to one side first] I have to say, I hope it isn't. It'd make it hard to reason with him. [not that he would actually be that averse to knocking the Mayor over the head with something >.>] Want me to cut this for you?

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-30 07:22 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, if you would, please. Sorry for the trouble.

No matter what world you're in, money talks, ne! [That comes out with a cheerful face but a bitter tone, it being on the heels of the conversation with Miss Osculia and all. 'Revitalization' for profit...]

I truly hope we can reason well with him. As he is the main decision maker here, our lives likely depend on it.
desertdaggers: (these are sharp)

[personal profile] desertdaggers 2010-09-30 08:15 am (UTC)(link)
It's no trouble at all! [cuttin' fruit~ and handing it back once it's in halves o/] There you go!

…yeah. That's why the Guild… [stares at his own piece, then starts picking seeds out to eat them] I wonder how Doctor Resarci got it all.

That's a lot of pressure. But we're all in this together, aren't we? We'll be fine. [smiles]

[As discussed and agreed upon ooc. I'll just put it here for the record.]

[Fuu and Mister Braxiatel do have a nice little information sharing session. He fills her in on the information Verita gave, and she gives him what was learned from Osculia. She also shares the little learned from Audrey from when she'd gone to the bar.]
