[not too long after receiving the picture on his CAT, said device turns on, broadcasting everything, just as the Doctor reaches the northernmost door. he pauses for a moment, reading the sign.]

Wait until I'm called? [he makes a face that says "Not on your life," and barges in--but stops short when he spots the four townspeople waiting by the fireplace] Ohhh, and the entertainment's here already! I'd wondered if I'd see you lot again--well, no, not really. Not two of you, anyway.

Well! It's been fun, but I've got things to do: worlds to see, planets to save--and you lot have kept me here for far too long already.

[he stalks across the vast room until he reaches the door, but frowns when he can't turn the doorknob. a little noise of frustration escapes his lips while he pulls out his sonic screwdriver, the instrument whirring for a moment before he sighs and puts it away] Deadlocked... That would figure.

[he runs a hand through his hair as he walks away from the doors. by now he's noticed his CAT is on] Looks like we can't go in to visit our wonderful mayor. Would anyone care to join me here with the rest of our friends? Certainly won't be a dull time, that's for sure...

[ooc: All right, here's the discussion post everyone! Feel free to use this space to talk to one another or the Doctor (so yes, threadhopping is allowed), share what you've learned, and if you want to chat with a mod NPC (Verita, Ms Osculia, Audrey, and Sheriff Iussus), please put their name in the subject line of a comment and we mods will come and tag you!]

[When Fuu comes to the room she glances about and gives a blink of surprise to see the four residents there. She gives them all a polite bow, but leans in close to Miss Verita. She speaks softly, with sincere concern.]

I'm so glad to see that you are all right, Miss Verita. And I wanted to say, thank you, and I'm very sorry for what happened to you because of us-- because of me.

[frowns] You don't have to apologize! I was only doing what I wanted to.

Are you all right?

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-20 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
[Fuu gives a little smile at that. Certainly Miss Verita's situation had been worsened because of her helping the new residents, but she didn't seem to regret it.]

Thank you very much for doing so.

Ah, well, I'm all right relatively speaking, thank you. [The fact that she'd felt faintly sick to her stomach after all the truths that Miss Osculia had revealed was beside the point. And thinking of...]

Um... I'm sure that you've answered your fill of questions already, but may I ask a couple more of you?
luministimods: (Verita)

[personal profile] luministimods 2010-09-20 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[grins] Sure thing! The news is the news, after all. It's not worth it if it's not the truth.

Sure! What did you want to know?

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-20 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
[She gives her a grateful smile.]
If we may speak privately? [She moves towards an empty corner of the room as she softly asks her question.]

Well, I know you must be the closest to the Mayor out of everyone, right? Have you ever seen a man in a black suit and black hat, perhaps a bit tall, come visit him?
luministimods: (Verita)

[personal profile] luministimods 2010-09-20 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[blinks, but nods and follows her to the corner. she seems confused by the question, though] A man in a black hat? No, I don't think so. But before I came to town, Daddy was spending most of his time at work, so he didn't have many visitors.

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
I see. Not to worry about it then. [But who was he?]

Now, this question might be more difficult, but just please tell me what you can. Do you happen to know why the Mayor is so interested in revitalizing the human body?
luministimods: (Verita)

[personal profile] luministimods 2010-09-21 11:03 am (UTC)(link)
[frowns] You mean like, healing people? Isn't everybody?

[thinks about that] I know he thinks the project will help with...what happened to my Grandpa. Is that what you're asking?

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[...! Grandpa? She really needs to talk to Miss Sophie or Mister Braxiatel about what they'd talked about with Miss Verita in her room.]

[gently] Yes, certainly everyone is. I was wondering if the 'revitalization' had more to do with... perhaps immortality, or bringing back to new life. But you say it's 'healing'.

So, how exactly do you anticipate the project will help your Grandpa?
luministimods: (Verita)

[personal profile] luministimods 2010-09-21 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[blinks, shocked] Do you really think it could do something like that?

I don't know. I thought maybe it would help other people. Grandpa's...Grandpa's not with us anymore. [looks down, her expression faltering]

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-22 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
[Reaches over to place her hand on her shoulder] I'm sorry. I'm so sorry to hear that, Miss Verita.

I really don't know what exactly the Mayor and doctor Resarci have in mind by 'revitalization', but... your technology is already so amazing, who knows what is possible. [She says that cautiously, a bit unnerved by the idea of the dead (she's assuming) being 'revitalized'.]

[personal profile] luministimods 2010-09-22 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
[nods, sniffing] There was a fire. I miss him.

[shakes her head] I don't know. I just want people to stop being hurt. First Grandpa, and now Andre... [keeps her head down and sniffs again, wiping at one eye]

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-22 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
[A fire? She hands her a small packet of tissues from her purse.]

Of course. Of course. It's awful what happened. ...You don't have to tell me more about it if you don't want to, but I'd be happy to listen.
luministimods: (Verita)

[personal profile] luministimods 2010-09-23 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks... [fumbles to open the packet, then dabs a tissue at her eyes]

There isn't really anything to tell. There was a fire, and Grandpa didn't...didn't make it out. And Andre...you know about Andre... [chokes back a sob, wiping at her eyes some more]

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-23 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
Yes.
I'm sorry, Miss Verita, but... that wasn't the fire that was [a beat as she makes sure to remember correctly] four years ago?
luministimods: (Verita)

[personal profile] luministimods 2010-09-23 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[nods, still sniffling] But I still remember him really well.

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
That's wonderful then, that you do! He was clearly very important to you.

So, I take it he was the town historian? And if that's so, and you are the very voice of the news... you could say part of him is still living on through you. You are looking over Luministi's new history, as it's being formed.
luministimods: (Verita)

[personal profile] luministimods 2010-09-24 10:58 am (UTC)(link)
He was.

Um...he wasn't exactly. Daddy made the town afterwards. But he's the reason there is a town, so I guess you could say that! [brightens a little]

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
There you go! [She returns the smile encouragingly. In a way though, it's a shame that the new residents are trying to bring this town down. It's clearly very dear to Verita.]

And even after having heard so much, you still bring me news, Miss Verita! You see, I had no idea the town was so new. [tilts her head contemplatively] Why bother with the 700-year-old history then? But then, it could have been 25 or any other number, and we wouldn't have known any different.
luministimods: (Verita)

[personal profile] luministimods 2010-09-25 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
[sniffs again, glad to have something to think about that isn't sad] I guess Daddy thought it sounded better if it was old? It only just opened when some of you first arrived.

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-25 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
[Fuu's glad for that too.]

Just opened? Amazing! The technology and abilities of the people here are amazing.

[About to say that the very same technology certainly could have found them another way to achieve what they were after, Fuu stops herself. That would be no good. She wants to talk about something else with Miss Verita, and hopefully this topic won't make her sad...]

Say, do you know if your father is very fond of classical music? There is some music playing loudly in the locked room. And, thinking back on it, every time there was an announcement some lovely music would play.
luministimods: (Verita)

[personal profile] luministimods 2010-09-26 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
[nods] Yeah, he loves music like that. He played it all the time in his lab. Why? Do you like it, too?

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-26 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
I do like it! Indeed, you could say it's hard not to like something so timelessly classic. It would be like saying I don't like the Mona Lisa.

But what do you think of it?
luministimods: (Verita)

[personal profile] luministimods 2010-09-26 01:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[thoughtfully] I like it all right. I guess it just reminds me of Daddy.

[identity profile] wind-of-reason.livejournal.com 2010-09-26 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[Smiles, and nods kindly]

Thank you so much for speaking with me Miss Verita and -- for everything you've done.
