[02] Full of Ideas

[Hello, fellow residents. Have a Doctor, pacing in front of the bar. The CAT is in his hands, video turned on.]

Oi, you lot! Listen up. If your CAT says it's August, it's wrong -- June was eleven months ago. Now, either someone's been tampering with these things on purpose, or there was a bug in the programming. I'm about to find out. Might even clear up a few other things while I'm at it. I'm full of ideas about this case, got a whole list of potential suspects. If anyone wants to swap clues, come find me. Could do with a bit of company.

[filtered to Ten and Brax;]

Speaking of company, I think we ought to move in together. Bit domestic, I know, but it's...lonely, being by myself. 'Course, it's been lonely ever since I blew up Gallifrey. Er...since we blew it up? Blimey, it's odd having a self around all the time. Mind you, I think it's fantastic, even though you're annoying.

[/filter]

[and now he's walking into the bar, looking for Audrey]

As ever, your egocentric way of thinking is remarkable. I mean it. Even Bernice can't compare.

Anyway, press Ardes for what she knows about the program. Ask her about Resarci in particular. And perhaps something about the morality of doing something bad for a greater good.

Keep me updated.

I'm sure I said explicitly that I prefer an autonomous existence. Or, in simpler words: I like to live alone. I've spent my whole life that way.

It's always interesting having people put words in your mouth. It's also interesting when people tout their trauma like they're the only ones who have ever suffered in the universe.

Doctor. You're going to break the Laws of Time. Again. If you can't control what you're saying, do what I do: stop speaking.

[Why else do you think Brax would be sticking strictly to the one medium where he could control what he says?]

Thank you. And be careful. Patching you up would be... tiresome.

Danger is your element, Thete.

By the way, I was bit too. Using a bug's bite is an excellent way to implant viruses, nanobots, and very tiny bombs.

It would be foolish to discount the possibility without further evidence.

It was found in the gardens in a mysterious box. Another two notes were found there as well, but this one seemed most relevant at present, and it's the only one I own myself. I can give you my guesses, for as much as they're worth.

No, on second thought, I'll keep them for a while. It would be so embarrassing to be wrong. I'll give you information instead: two other messages found in that box.

The first had the the transmission date 10-3-545, 0843 standard solar time. FR3 and MO1 are the speakers. FR3 says they can't see well from where they are and that it thought one of the residents was looking in. MO1 tries to calm FR3. FR3 asks if MO1 can see in and that the shield should be working, but a couple residents have them worked up. MO1 says that they will check the shield and see the residents that FR3 spoke of. And the girl summarizing this quoted MO1's last line: 'once they are gone, I will be able to assuage your fears.'

The last note I encountered was much briefer. I saw this one myself, so I can quote it:

Got the spot. Worked like a charm. She's such a sweet girl, as he said. Don't worry, everything is going well. Will send details soon.
Be ready.

One more thing: try not to reveal too many things I'd rather see kept quiet while you're like this.
