[There's some interference with the image as Oswald pokes and prods at the CAT vidscreen, then suddenly the image flips rapidly as he sets it on the ground and walks away. There's a scuffle sound, and almost instantly a sharp, red object pokes down (up?) at the screen before Oswald's face comes back into view]

What magic is this? Has it been bewitched to follow me?

[He picks up the CAT none too gently and flips it in his hands as he mumbles to himself]

What makes it light up?

It's a device for communication, though I'm afraid I don't understand how it works. Mr Braxiatel might be able to tell you more.

Have you just arrived?

[Nearly drops the CAT in surprise] Who...!

My name is Sophie Hatter, and I imagine I arrived in this town much as you did.

Sophie Hatter...? [Says the name slowly]

You say I arrived in this...town...as you did? How did you come to be here?

Yes. [pointedly] And what is your name?

I don't know. I do remember seeing a strange man and a flash of light, but it's all very vague. What do you remember?

My name is Oswald.

...And I am not sure. I was seeking a bird in the Netherworld when I also saw a flash of light. I assumed Odette discovered me, but now I am not so sure.

[curious] A bird?

You're certain you didn't see a man as well?

Yes.

There may have been a figure. Is he connected with the man on the wall when I woke up?

[sighs] I'm afraid I don't know. The mayor has never shown himself in person for us to be able to tell.

[When it rains, it pours!
Oh, so another person from a place that can use magic? And as she looks at him, she just can't help but see 'warrior-type'. Cephiro or a video game, it's about the same. This is getting more interesting all the time.]

[Fuu answers with a smile and a bow.]

It's electronic, not magic I'm afraid.
And it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Fuu Hououji.

[Stares at the new face on his CAT] Another one?

...? Another one of what?

Woman in this strange device. There is another by the name of Sophie Hatter.

[Brightly chatty~] Ah, so Miss Sophie has messaged you too. Well, we aren't in the device - it's called a CAT, by the way - but we are real people, communicating to you through it. I could certainly come to see you in person, if you like, Mister Warrior.

A CAT? ...It does not look feline in any way.

And my name is Oswald.

Nope, it sure doesn't. It's an acronym for Communications Audiovisual Transmitters. CAT for short. Much easier to say, right?

And it's a pleasure to meet you, Mister Oswald. Can I help you out in any way? I'd be happy to come meet you in person, if you like...

[has no idea what those words mean]

I believe I am fine now.

Ah, excellent then! Take care out there! Although, you do seem the warrior type, so I'm sure you'll be fine. [Gives a bright smile in farewell]

[hello Oswald, have a Doctor who is quite happy considering the current circumstances] Well! Do you want the super short easy explanation that magic users should be able to follow? Or do you want the extremely technical one that you might want to get a cuppa and a comfortable seat for, as well as a tablet in case it gives you all a headache?

Oh, and hello by the way! [grins and waves]

[He's getting a bit antsy with all this new, impossible stuff happening, and all these strangers greeting him so nonchalantly]

I do not understand a word you have said. Who are you and where is this place?

No? [looks crestfallen for all of a second before it passes] Ah well, you're not the first. Happens all the time!

I'm the Doctor and this is the town of Luministi! Though if you're talking specifically about the building you're in, that'd be your house. I hesitate to say "home" because even mine doesn't feel like a home and I've been here about two months now.

[...what is wrong with this strange man]

You are a doctor of what? And I have never heard of a Luministi before. What kingdom is it a part of?

[he's been bit by a bug that makes him more babbly than normal! scary thing.]

All right, to answer your questions: One, I'm a doctor of just about everything, except not quite for medical--even though I know a great deal about the anatomical structures of several species throughout the universe--because, well, who really wants to be tied down for the practical part of the lessons when there are lives needing to be saved elsewhere?

Two, I'd never heard of Luministi before either, which is pretty funny because I know about a lot of places in the universe and this place reminds me of a town in New England portion of the United States of America. And I don't think it's part of any kingdom. Damn small kingdom if it were.

So who are you, anyway? I think it only fair you answer something in return.

[Oswald frowns as the Doctor continues and he becomes more and more confused]

I do not know these New England or United States of America places. They are not a part of Erion. [Mumbles to himself] Did that flash of light take me not only from Endelphia, but from Erion entirely...?

[Remembers the Doctor asked for his name] My name is Oswald.

Well, wherever you came from, you're not there any longer! Sounds like an interesting place though just from the name. Erion...hmm. [makes a slight face as he thinks about]

Oswald? Well, nice to meet you, Oswald! So. Do you need a crash course on your CAT or would you simply like to figure it out on your own?

[raises an eyebrow at 'interesting']

The CAT is this thing I'm holding, isn't it? That's what that other woman said. It's like nothing I've ever seen before.

[nods] Oh, I'd expect not. It's even new to me--well, the exact device is; I've seen ones similar to it, but they haven't all done the same thing or acted the same way.

For example! Put the CAT down and walk right out of the room. Or better yet, walk out of the house. It'll find its way onto your person somehow.

That's impossible. [but he does as the Doctor says and walks away from the CAT, only to reappear in the screen a few moments later as it appears in his hand]

That woman said it was not magic, but something else, but...!

[mutters under his breath] Again with the magic...

It's a technology thing. It's imprinted you, it seems, and will keep with you no matter where you go, like a baby chick to its mother.
