[a soft buzzing sound, a click--

and then a very clear picture of a shirtless man(?) holding a CAT, trying out a few of the buttons with slow taps of his thumb. the bedroom - clearly of townhouse origin - is in partial disarray, sheets half-off the bed and the nearby vidscreen primarily in shattered pieces on the floor.

a minute or so passes before he dumps the CAT on the bed, sitting on the edge of the mattress himself a second later]

Tch. What's it even good for?

[he stews in silence, turning his glare from the wall to the floor to the ceiling in slow succession.

then he looks to his left, his right hand rising to where his left shoulder simply ends. his palm skims over the bandage-wrapped wound while he mutters to himself] Somebody did good work.

But who the hell would know how?

[annoyed] Very little. [which isn't strictly true--she wants the new residents to be able to work together--but she can pretend] I take it you're not?

[a different expression flickers across his face - half serious, half calculating] ...you see a man, then a flash?

[scowls back at him, annoyed but still curious about this odd man] You'll find the town rather picturesque, on the surface. I doubt it would interest you.

his expression is unreliable. after a second he stuffs his hand into his pocket, starting to walk - he doesn't have the reiatsu to spare on any airborne antics] Where's the edge of town?

If you go northwest from there, you'll find what I would imagine should be the edge of town. Unfortunately, at some point, it becomes the other side of town instead. [sighs]

[the odd, gruff question does have a purpose: if it's some type of kidou or something similar, does it extend up into the sky, too?]

[frowns, not understanding his question] The same does happen on all sides of town, yes.

he heads off in the direction she indicated, sparing his surroundings only the occasional glance - nothing like the human world he's used to, all of it so foreign it's almost nonsensical] ...what else do you know?

[well, that was rude. crosses her arms over her chest, making a face at him. but he is new here, so it would be unkind of her not to tell him at least a little of what has happened]

Essentially, we're trapped in this town. None of us know how we got here, and the people in town are quite insistent that there is nothing odd about it, although strange things happen quite frequently. At the moment, there is a murderer loose who has already killed two people.

[she would tell him to be careful, but she has a feeling he wouldn't listen, and he's rude enough that she doesn't mind letting him learn his own lessons]

[no. a special type of portal between worlds should have been there, but apparently there's more going on with this shitty town than he first realized.

there's a low, furious growl, a swift kick--and a postbox crumples, bent utterly out of shape.

then Grimmjow's gone in a blur of white and blue - looks like he's using some type of skill to move at high speed, blowing past people and objects toward the edge of town.

brb going to prove you wrong, woman]

[her jaw drops, and she glares after him] Well, I never!

[well, most sane and nice people don't like him very much, so you're not alone.

however, she can watch as The Blur himself rockets toward where the street starts to curve beyond the town--

--and then heading right back in from the other side. there's a stop, an honestly startled look, and then he's going up into the sky, trying it again from an airborne position.

[looks like he's only got enough strength for one trip. once he's right back where he's started, he has to lean up against a lamp post, breathing hard, a shiny sheen of sweat clear on his skin]
