[The snow falls in great flakes from the sky, covering the walkway that's sprung up out in the lake. The one that connects to what looks like some sort of tomb, with a stylized metal man of some sort on the wall outside the great, heavy doors. It has voices, as well, drifting out into the cold - a young girl and a man, both with English accents.]

You look very nice in that dress, Victoria.

Thank you. Don't you think it's a bit...?

A bit short? Oh I shouldn't worry about that, look at Jamie's.

[From the expression on Jamie's face, the girl's voice strikes some sort of cord deep inside - and his own reply is barely a murmur.]

Victoria...

[Some time passes before he notices the footprints, but once he does, he - like everyone else - starts to follow them, eventually making his way to the fire in the observation deck. As he's rubbing his hands to try and warm them, he looks up to see that question scrawled across the many screens in the area.]

Och, that can't be good.

[Alicia manages to keep herself from following the footprints long enough to look around the town a bit at least. and how can she resist the mystery presented by a structure like that tomb? she starts tentatively along the walkway, shivering against the cold as she goes]

Hello? Is there somebody in there?

[It's not too much warmer in the tomb, especially since the snow seems to have gotten in there somehow. But Jamie's inside there anyway, eying the currently-closed hatch with a small frown. He's caught up enough in his thoughts that the voice gives him a start - but it doesn't stop him from hurrying over to the door to stick his head outside to see who's calling.]

Yes, I'm here. Hello?

[she approaches quickly, giving the young man a nervous, sheepish look] Hi! Um...can I come in?

[bonnypiperlad]

[He gives the hatch another, uncertain look, but it doesn't seem to be budging. And having tried to open it from the other side when it's been closed, he knows that it'll likely stay that way for now. At least, he hopes so.]

Aye...I suppose that'd be alright.

Thanks. [she gives him a friendly smile and enters, although she is quickly distracted by the strangeness of the building] Wow. What is this place?

A place that I'd been once, a long time ago. [And one he's not entirely thrilled about being in again for a few reasons, but he sees no sense in worrying a stranger over that so long as that hatch stays closed.]

Hey, you're not new here, are ye?

[confused] Why haven't you gone in so long when it's so close?

Sort of. [sheepish] I was here for a day once, but it looked completely different then...

Ah...it wasn't always here. It was on another world, before I was pulled here.

[And there's been other things that have distracted him from coming here since it got pulled here.]

Aye. Things tend to change around here without any warning, but ye might have noticed that already. It's good to meet ye, though. My name's Jamie.

Another world? But...how did it get here?

Oh, I'm Alicia. Nice to meet you, Jamie! So...you've been here a while?

[bonnypiperlad]

I wish I knew. Some of it started showing up months ago, and some of it only recently. It doesn't make any sense.

[He frowns, then shakes his head.] I just hope that if anything else shows up...aye, well, never mind that. Yes, I've been here for...over a year, I think.

[unbending_spirit]

[she frowns] You mean like how we got here?

Over a year!? [she gapes at him] But...isn't there any way to leave?

[bonnypiperlad]

Well...yes and no. If you've a ship, ye can leave from the spacestation itself, and I did do that for a time. But I'm not sure ye won't wind up back here all the same.

[unbending_spirit]

[she shakes her head] I've never even been on a boat. Well, not bigger than a rowboat. [she frowns, struggling to understand] What makes you say that?

[bonnypiperlad]

People have left here before, but they keep getting pulled back. I'm not even sure why that is, just that someone wants us to be in this place. Maybe they thought the bits of our world would help us to want to stay, so they brought them here too.

[unbending_spirit]

I guess that makes sense...

What are they using to bring us here, anyway? Do you know?

[bonnypiperlad]

No, we don't know that either. If we could find out, maybe there'd be some way to undo what's been done and let everyone go home for good.

[He gives her an apologetic look.] I'm sorry. This isn't probably what ye want to hear.

[unbending_spirit]

[she shakes her head, though a frown still tugs at her lips] It's not your fault. Under the circumstances, I'm just glad you're being honest!

Is there anything else that might help us get home?

[bonnypiperlad]

There's a man. His name's Nathan, and he's helped the others get back in the past. Maybe if we can get in touch with him he can help, but I've not seen him for some time.

[Which could be nothing, but he's not sure.] I think some of the others have been trying to leave him messages, though.

[unbending_spirit]

[she nods, eager to come up with something she can do to try to help] If messages aren't working, do you have any idea where we might be able to find him?

[bonnypiperlad]

No. [And he doesn't look particularly thrilled about it.] We'll just have to hope that he bothers to show up again sometime soon if those messages don't go through.

I'm afraid it's not much of a solution right now. Ah, well. Suppose we don't have much of a choice to but to wait and see what happens for now. I just hope this stuff with all the snow clears up in the meantime or he'll not be able to find us unless he's got a shovel.
