[The best way to figure out the ups and downs of a puzzling situation is to explore! Right? Luke thinks so, and he's wandering up and down the streets of Luministi Greens East to get an idea of the lay of the land, so to speak, in his new neighborhood. It's weird to think about so he's trying not to; walking felt more familiar, prompting him to leave his bicycle at home.
"Home", rather.
After a while of sorting things out (the layout is nothing complicated, but he wants to sit down with a map anyway and start getting things all noted down in his notebook) he starts fiddling with the CAT again. The video function is pretty useful!]
The food they left out for us was sort of disappointing, wasn't it? I've got something less unimpressive, if anyone wants to hear a puzzle.

She's sipping a carton of juice and eyeing the surrounding residential area with vague curiosity when she spots Luke in the distance.]
Luuuuuuuuke.

It took even less time to crash the bike once again. He and the two-wheel device are both unbroken, but he's been pushing it back ever since, walk-limping along beside it.
Hearing someone call him, Luke lifts his gaze from the ground directly before the front wheel and squints into the sunset light.]
Hello?
[action]
Hey! [She smiles around her straw and casually walks up to him. What are manners?]
[action]
[That was perfect. He would smile if it hadn't been such a...hard day.]
Do you live over here too?
[action]
I'm almost impressed! You got it right this time. Not that it was ever hard in the first place. [A slight wave.] Yeah, I live here. For now, I mean.
[action]
Even though they spoke "face to face" before, he finds it strikingly odd that she wears glasses.]
Are you going to move in with your...friend from the same universe instead?
[action]
Ugh, no. I guess she's mad at me or something. [No guessing about it.] Who knows if she still thinks we're friends!
[action]
We're all in this weird place together. You might as well be. Being mad isn't going to get us out.
[action]
[action]
[The one he almost ran over on the road seemed like a sensible and rational sort - the kind who would want an apology.]
Have you been looking around too?

I talked to someone who's living in a "secret" laboratory. He said he used to be able to get into town, but now he can't.

[action]
Could you hold onto this for a second? [Nodding to the bike, and turning the handlebars so it will be easier for her to reach for them.]
[action]
[She's a bit confused, but she takes hold of the handlebars anyway--though she snidely adds a "You're welcome!" as she does it.]
[action]
[He'll tell her thanks when he gets back, geez. It's just a few (slow, sore-looking) steps to the yard where she threw her trash and another few to a public bin to throw it away.
Then he returns to the bike and reaches out to take the bars again.]
Thanks.
[action]
Hey, quit cleaning up after me!!!!!!!! [Now that her hands are free, she reaches out to punch him in the shoulder.]
I take it back! You're not welcome.
[action]
He does look a bit...confused. A fraction hurt, physically and otherwise. On top of all the surprise.]
Wha- Why are you mad about it? [There is no place in his mind where a girl gets angry that someone was kind enough to throw away her stuff for her.]
[action]
[action]
[action]
[action]
Instead his hands just tighten on the handlebars and he thinks to himself that this might be why her other friend is mad at her.]
Why?
[action]
[Now she looks sulky again. And maybe she's projecting. She's nearly forgotten what it was like to have people do things for her. But this only brings up uncomfortable feelings. It's so damn bothersome to have supportive friends--and she shouldn't be happy about it in any way.
She starts walking faster, feeling hot and irritated. If she leaves him behind, then too bad for him!]
