[For days, the zombie invasion of the Luministi town and spacestation has gone on, but through various means, there have been less and less zombies appearing by the day. And now, only a few remain, stubbornly shambling after their prey--

--or rather they were. With a bright, blinding flash of light, their bodies instantly change. No longer are they dead and decaying, but are that of full-fledged living beings with absolutely no desire for brains or flesh of the living. In fact, while they take a moment to blink and look around to see where they are, these townspeople merely shrug and continue on with their business like they did months ago. For them, it's back to their normal routine, and if asked, they won't even remember being a zombie. No one does. Even those who were killed during the fighting are back, right as rain.

But something else has changed.

Something big, yet the sound was so soft and heard by none. A door has been opened...

And from the surprise left in the town square, it seems other metaphorical doors have been opened as well, a fact that the sender of a text message to all of the CATs, is very well aware of:]

Plot Details: Just Breathe

Welcome to Luministi's Fourth Wall event! If you have never participated in 4th wall with us before, the portion above the cut there is an IC continuation of the story that has been in the making for the past two seasons (a summary of which can be read here if you are curious, but it's not required reading!) Unlike past events, the town is not only fully populated with people who will just talk about mundane things about Luministi, but the pathway to the spacestation via the Mayor's House has been opened. How long that will remain open is anyone's guess, but for now, take advantage of it!

Also, visitors have a choice of physically appearing in the town square or communicating from their own world via the CAT.

Now, for those of you new to the game, the CATs, or Communications Audiovisual Transmitters, are personalized communication devices about the size of your palm, and for this day only, visiting characters will have this device. They'll have found it randomly on their person with no idea how it even got there. From a video broadcast standpoint, you'll be able to see the the immediate surroundings of the person you're talking to. More information about the CATs can be found on the FAQ page, which also has some handy tips about how the game is run and other questions about the game that aren't answered elsewhere in the mod journal. But if you don't see your question answered anywhere, please don't be afraid to ask!

In-game time, this event lasts a day, but you can tag for however long you want!

If visiting players do app into the game they will be able to remember visiting the town (or viewing it in a video feed), as well as everyone they met, the moment they show up in the town of Luministi for real. Yeah for ready-made CR, right?

And for current players, consider this a plot break! I'll have the game's next proper plot update for you guys tomorrow, so enjoy the breather while you can!

This event is the last one the game will hold, unfortunately, as Luminsti is in its final season. All of the storylines and mysteries introduced back in June 2010 when the game first opened will be brought to a close, and how it all does will be up to everyone involved. There are choices to be made and tasks that need to be accomplished--but only if you do it. Not doing something also will result in something, but whether it's for better or worse, well... You'll just have to come along for the ride and see, won't you?

We've managed to retrieve one of the people who should be able to help us, but his memory seems to be a little fuzzy on several details. I've been sending out distress signals regularly so I'm certain that one of the others will come along eventually unless something terrible has happened to them!

You've done well so far, but I'm afraid it's too soon to be assured of anything. We must root out the source of the problem before we can expect it to go away.

What do you say we take a tour? I'd like to get a feel for the town before deciding on any sort of action.

[Sophie is surprised by that] You mean you're still at home? [she can't help looking a bit disappointed] Well, that's a relief, I suppose. [though it doesn't change that she misses her]

[catching a glimpse of that poster, Sophie frowns] Cissie, are you friends with a young man named Conner?

[yes, perfectly safe! Her tail picks up a little and she moves forward a little, reaching out towards his hand.]

[Oh, that's better. It's not the strangest thing ever, but it's a relief still.

She makes a non-committal sound, pawing at the ground a little. She's used transportation that gets you from one place to the other in the blink of an eye before but usually she's induced it, and it's been to somewhere she's been before. This is a little disconcerting, but otherwise she's fine. She whuffs at him, head tilting a little, curious.]

[she's taking a few moments to try to get her bearings- this wasn't where they were going- and then the scent of tea catches her attention, and she heads towards the tea shop and Fuu, looking up with soulful eyes. Cake and tea would definitely help her get used to this place.]

[she's even more startled now. she shudders at that description] Oh! Then...then I'm very relieved to see you're all right again. [trying to be calming] It's probably best not to think about it. Are you still in the space station?

I'll only be a moment of your time. Could you tell me a bit about the parties involved in bringing us here? I'd like to know who they are and how they can be contacted.

[sarcasticpelican]

Earth.
[You're getting a pause as she kind of looks you over again. ]
And you're sure you've never seen armor like mine before?

[reminded]

[He notices the pause, but decides not to pry.]

London, England. I'm a professor of archaeology at Gressenheller University. Hershel Layton is my name.

Rearranging the contents of my briefcase can be a challenge as well, but a bit of mental exercise can be refreshing in its own right.

[Sophie does not like that response. she leans a bit closer to the CAT, trying to get a good look at him] Are you hurt? Do you need help?

This town is called Luministi. [she pauses, trying to decide how best to explain] I know this may come as a shock, but we're aboard what's known as a space station. They keep bringing people to this town, but we've found ways to escape before, and I'm certain we will again. But until then, I'm afraid you'll have to be patient.

[from her face when she says that, it's not something she enjoys either]

[Sophie makes a face] I'm afraid we don't know. But we've found a way to leave twice before, so I'm certain we will again.

You...don't happen to know an Agent Washington, do you?

[fortune_sought]

[Sophie nods, smiling in excited relief] Yes, I'm fine! I drove them away, and Mr Croix helped with any others. But what about you? How did you end up in the town again?

Grey skin, red shades, orange horns, shark like teeth and man when she cackles it is like a witch cackle. Can't miss the dragon cane she uses.

[He settles into a calm attitude and he leans slightly to one side.] I don't understand so let's try it this way. One once for no. Twice for yes, I'm fine.

I didn't know if I ever would be! Agent Washington said that I'd become a monster like the townspeople did unless he and Mister McCrimmon finished me off in a way that would thoroughly destroy my body, and I was so hurt that I couldn't have survived anyway, and...

I know I should just try to push it to the back of my mind since it's over, but it still scares me for some reason.

Ah, shortly after I came back the passage between the laboratories and the Mayor's residence finally opened up, but I don't know how or why.

That sounds great! [He is totally tugging your sleeve Layton.] Did you know the Laytonmobile is here? The one from the "future."

Positive. As I've indicated, I try to make it a habit to stay far, far away from places that are likely to require the use of body armor.

And honestly, both yours and Agent Washington's make me nervous. I can see the practical purpose of hiding your faces, but I spent something like a year believing that Washington was some kind of very well-programmed robot because of it.

It took being trapped in an enclosed space alone with him for me to find out otherwise.

[Totally being led along. He adjusts his hat and walks alongside Luke once he's up to speed.]

From the "future," you say? How odd. I didn't hear any reports of it being missing or stolen back in London.
