❧ Don't Stop Me Now
[With everyone's efforts, the life support systems start back up again, and all flashing red lights go away to warn another day. Soon, the air levels return to normal, breathable levels, and the food replicators begin bringing in fresh foods once more to the spacestation kitchens and all the restaurants in town. And yes, there is hot water for everyone now!]
[In the maintenance area, Proctor lets out a loud sigh of relief and turns on his CAT while he checks over the read-outs on the terminals before him]
Very, very good! I...had my doubts we'd be able to do this in time. But--[he smiles faintly for the first]--you did it. You all did. I'm seeing more and more why Filippo failed so badly last--
[But he cuts off right then, his face going pale.] What is...how was that system activated?! It was turned off months ago! [He turns suddenly when he hears a groaning, shuffling noise behind him. If possible, his face goes even more pale.]
No...NO, you get away from m--
[Proctor accidentally shuts his CAT off. What happens to him...who knows.]

- Congratulations, everyone, for surviving our first quick-time event of the season! You have NO idea how pleased I am that every goal was accomplished! There was a slim chance we might not have made it, but I had confidence in you all ♥
- They range from slow to fast in motion.
- Super loud noises like gun fire and explosions will draw them towards you--
- --However, if you pretend to be one of them? They'll be fooled and leave you alone.
- They're not super strong, so they won't like...knock down brick walls, but if enough of them are pressing in on glass? They'll eventually break through because the glass will give in to the weight and pressure being applied.
That said...the terminals weren't exactly helpful, were they? A...or B. I do have to admit that there were right and wrong answers to every single one of these terminals. I had a system for each objective, like I used the blue arrows from this to decide on which ones were correct for the life support-related terminals, for example, and I tried to be as objective as I could with the others. The food replicators and the hot water all had corresponding buttons to be pressed, and that last terminal...well, the correct answer was actually chosen by a majority. (i.e. The highest amount of numbers chosen was the right answer, and the odds = A, and evens = B.) And there weren't any hints that could have been had through conversation. It really was just a simple choice.
I can now reveal how everyone did! A green checkmark will be next to those who guessed correctly, and a red cross-out thingy next to those who guessed incorrectly:

When the messages said that if you chose incorrectly, you might not live long enough to regret it, it wasn't...exactly talking about whether or not you'd live if the systems were reset. It was actually talking about something very, very different.
See...the systems were reset, which brought everything back online as I said before--but there were other systems that had been turned off before. There used to be townspeople who wandered the streets and one could occasionally chat with them about the town, though they had no idea the town was just a fake. To them, the town was real, and the people themselves, while only mere duplicates, were real in a sense as well. During the last season, the townspeople went away, sadly, in...a somewhat violent way that was kind of glossed over, and eerily, it mirrors what just happened with the life support systems--or rather, it almost did. But when the life support systems were shut off in the town last time, none of the townspeople were able to leave--but they were gone by the end of things last season with no bodies or anything left behind.
Well, now those townspeople are back. The terminal that Vriska and Natsuo found (or rather, the terminal that found them) controlled the townspeople. Had they chosen correctly, the townspeople would have been brought back as though nothing had happened to them. But since this choice was made, the townspeople were still brought back...but as zombies.
Yep. Zombies.
Now...there are many kinds of zombies out there, so I'll make some basic rules, then you guys can go wild:
And...well. With zombies about, it means there's a high risk that one might become infected. For the sake of the event, only those who are bitten by a zombie will eventually turn into one after a single day. (Symptoms include: a bite mark, high fever, then later on, a sudden desire for human flesh, and slurred, unintelligible speech.) After that, zombified characters will remain zombies until the end of the plot--but with one exception. If zombified characters are killed, they can come back to life as normal people once again. They'll wake up in their townhomes like nothing had happened (and their zombie bodies will disappear.) However, if your character is one of the few out in the spacestation, you'll wake up in one of the beds in the crew quarters. If...you want them to remember what it was like as a zombie or not, that's up to you.
Now, I will say that if anyone does decide to go on a zombie-killing spree that includes other players' zombified characters, please ask them for permission about what they want done. Also, if things get...really graphic, I would suggest leaving a warning just to be on the safe side.
Oh yes...for those of you who chose wrong? The zombies will...find you to be more attractive meal options than the others, and you will have a harder time deceiving them. Sorry about that...
Oh, and the zombies are also in the spacestation. They just got out somehow... And some of these zombies will be familiar to some of the characters as NPCs they've seen in the past: a favorite waitress in the Malt Shop, the sweet old lady who ran the tea shop, even duplicates of Miss Osculia and the others--including the Mayor. It seems the only thing he can be bothered to show up for is this.

I do have one quick note of business! The Activity Check is still set for the 23rd, but I will be reducing the requirements just for this month to one post and one thread, or three threads/log threads. And characters who just came into the game after the 9th of June are exempt from the check. I'll put this info up again when I put the AC up in the OOC comm, but I thought I'd give you guys a heads-up!
And I believe that is it! If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to ask! Go ahead and use this space for plotting or throw someone a line via any of the modes of contact listed here!
